I have hunted, fished, and explored almost every kind of trail here in British Columbia in a variety of build-ups and vehicles for 42 years. I also mud-raced for 10 years in mild street builds to hi-performance mud-racers. One thing I learned early on in my 4whld passions was to reverse the position of the front axle spring hangers on older trucks when the lift got serious. I learned this the hard way when the front springs extended to a full drop and the shackle overcorrected on the rebound which bent the main leaf. It happened in the process of alterations to a '63 Ford 2whld to a 4whld. Once the hangers are reversed there is no issue. Arguments over this necessity, over time concerning speed and road conditions, have never stood up.
I agree, I miss that show. Grew up watching him, I also like how he’d build them, then put them through his test. N like he’d say, if I break it, I’ll fix it! Love Stacey projects!
THIS! This demonstrates the difference between the new shows and old favorites. It is highly scripted an almost overproduced to the point that people may call it “forced.’ As an example, look at the choreographed & scripted sequence starting about 14:15. BUT. This is such a better quality than ... others.
It does not get better than Stacey David when I first started watching trucks I was building a 1965 Jeep Gladiator Gladiators done and gone but still running Stacey David help me get through that build.
Hello there ok my name is Ken I live in madras Oregon I have a kw pickup truck that I put together it was a 75 chv pickup 3/4 ton but I'm looking for a set of Springs for the front of it so I can raise it I would to take the reverse Springs off it and put a new set to raise it up in the front
@@amoncopeland6747 yes but once that's welded or boxed in you can't get that rust out of there that would bug me knowing that rust is inside the frame rails !
Retro fit all that new steal you put on and weld on has to be sandblasted you know that old saying don't count the chickens until the eggs have been hatched
Why do people keep incorrectly calling these things "WILLY'S"???!!! There is no apostrophe. And it is pronounced the same as Bruce Willis, not "willies". From Wikipedia: Willys (pronounced /ˈwɪlɪs/, "Willis") was a brand name used by Willys-Overland Motors, an American automobile company, founded by John North Willys. It was best known for its design and production of World War II-era military jeeps (MBs), Willys M38 and M38A1 military jeeps as well as civilian versions (Jeep CJs), and branding the 'jeep' military slang-word into the '(Universal) Jeep' marque.
Why do a lot of people, and a lot that are professional automobile people call the car/company name WILLYS, like Willy’s? John Willys (pronounced WILLIS) was a key member of Willys Overland Co. Please stop calling the vehicles Willys/Willy’s!
You say tomato, I say tomatoe... A Willys by any other name would be just as cool. As for me and my house, we'll just go on calling it our Willys! Lol!

Thanks Stacy for all the lessons learned appreciate the help
I've always thought Stacey David was the best host of Trucks!
By far he was, and he still puts out some good content

I remember first time I turned on trucks I was hooked
Stacey David made this show awesome.
If I was the judge of a car show I'd award more points to a car that actually gets driven than a trailer queen
Now that valve cover trick was suuweet
LOOKIN' GOOD..

11:06 We gotta pay the bills.
I love that blue Chevrolet truck
Did you put a new headliner in the Jeep?
Asomen job and video
with the reverse shackle in the rear how prone is to binding when the shackle is at full droop ? isnt there a change in pinion angel
May have already been asked but, what was the total cost of this project?
I wonder what year the shooting was?
99 or 2000
It’s in the credits, right at the end. 21:08

Why not blast the frame first !
Stacy like to mock it all up so he can paint welds n stuff. Kills me every time

Why are you re-running 1999 episodes as "new" ?
I was thinking exactly the same thing!
Because the older episodes are so much better than the newer shit, I stopped watching the sometime ago because there not as good as they use to be.
Somewhere around this time frame is when Mel left .
Yea went on to acting. Or another type of acting
What color code is this
From the way he holds the power tools, it's very obvious that 'Mel' has never done any work with his hands ;-)
I kinda forgot about him. why did he leave the show?
@@krazi77 dunno ... maybe he dropped a hammer on his toe and got annoyed ...

Not that we can stay on the air? As opposed to immature vulgar-mouthed little boys, not true adult gentlemen of moral character? How pathetically sad.

These shows dedicate so much time to ignoring details. That frame should of been blasted and primed with a wweldable primer, then painted after.
