I moved from San Francisco to South San Francisco in 1968. I was in HS when Little Lucca started back in 79' I think. I am 57 and live in Florida now. I miss my family and Little Lucca in California. It's a awesome sandwich still made the same today as it was when I was going to El Camino HS.
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my login password. I love any tips you can offer me
South City is not the San Francisco that most are familiar with (apart from the airport and Tanforan), but one of those real SF locations on the mid-route techie commute. Thank you Lucas & Eater, for shining a light on a local business in this area, and not one of the foodie startups that have infiltrated the Bay Area at large.
when i was in college in 99 i drove to Lucca every weekend for 4 years straight. I've been preaching this to the masses in Seattle as the best sandwich ever! shine light!
At first I thought Lucas was a weird host, seems fairly awkward around other people at least compared to other hosts. But then he gets talking about the food and I get lost in his dissection of all the different parts of it, that's what truly makes a great host.
Dining on a Dime is sadly gone but have you checked out my new show, Off Menu? It's at th-cam.com/users/latimesfood -- go check it out and subscribe, thx!! Lucas
Little Lucca is certainly an institution in the SSF area. But Teani's is basically the originator of Little Lucca. Teani's is right up the street from Little Lucca. The folks at Teani's are the original owners of Little Lucca. Both sandwich shops are amazing.
Love Little Lucca sandwiches. Come early because they do run out of Dutch Crunch bread and certain meats. I eat one half for lunch and save the other half for dinner. So delic😍🤩😘ious!!!
I've tried nibbles of almost all the sandwiches over the years, Amazing! I get a salad with a couple tubs of Garlic Sauce as dressing, mostly because I've seen co workers fall asleep from the food Coma.
Grew up one block away from there. Glad to see this place get props online. But for all of us in the 650,415 n 510, we knew this place and live it. For you rookies out there, Dutch crunch bread n garlic spread is a must. I live in southern Cali now, but Everytime I go up there, I bring bread n spread back. with me because So Cal has no Idea what a real deli consists of. That's no lie! Delis owners watching this, take notes and learn. little Lucca, thank for being a great part of my childhood. life long customer!
Wow, right in my old stomping grounds. Went to El Camino High School and had these at least once a week. Love it love it love it. Get there before they run out.
Lucas is honestly making me want to hop over the pond and come to the US just to try these places out! I'm in the UK and our British sandwich joints are totally different to the US ones (but still great though!) Going to live through these Eater videos until then :)
Definitely going to have to try this place out once I get back to the Bay next month. No better way to celebrate graduation than with a monster deli sandwich!
One thing you didn't say is that the lines begin at 11:30 because of school kids from the high school nearby and other locals. They go until at least 1:30 or 2:00. Their sandwiches are outrageously good, the help is very kind and efficient, and the prices are reasonable, but it is popular and you might need to wait until you get "the perfect sandwich." It is worth the wait. I have gone there for 20 years.
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had was a mortadella sandwich. Simplicity is best--a sandwich should aspire to be greater than the sum of its parts. Kissing the sandwich before eating it is really the secret ingredient.
clenelyn I've noticed it for the past couple of weeks, as well. The haters are more numerous now, but I am unbothered. This is an inevitable part of the TH-cam circle of life. Ty for ur continued support bb 😘😘
ah that's good to hear I was worried they might be getting to you. Thank you for all your hard work, the majority of us really love and appreciate it :)
Grew up one block away from a bakery that made Dutch crunch bread. My father would stop by on his way home from work and pick up a fresh loaf for us kids. damn, it was delicious. Thanks for the memories.
Here I am in Colorado today making a lunch and wondering if Little Lucca's was still making those incredible sandwiches in South City. Lucas you are a magician! Thanks for answering my question, and giving me more than a few reasons for a California road trip.
My dad brought a sandwich similar to this and I think he Said it was in San Francisco. This was honestly top three sandwiches I’ve ever had in my whole life. I’m about to ask him right now if it’s these
Lucas, if you are planning to come to the Seattle/Tacoma area soon, please try the Spicy Pork Bulgogi at "Goofy Goose". You'd love it there! It's a small modest eating establishment, like the one in this video, that does both Korean and American food exceptionally well.
Lucas and Matthew are the best. They both have fun and enjoy the food, while the Meat dude talks as if he's better than everyone. Makes his videos hard to watch.
Lucas is such a huge asset to this channel
huge ass too knowwhatimsayin
More like THICCASS Peterson
Ryan Ha Why? He's boring AF, and needs some sleep!
He is a grumpy arrogant presenter
Boring AF...

I hope Eater appreciates how valuable Lucas is. He makes all of us so happy :)
Been going to Lucca's for over 20 years. Sandwiches are excellent.
Dining on a Dime is sadly gone but have you checked out my new show, Off Menu? It's at th-cam.com/users/latimesfood -- go check it out and subscribe, thx!! Lucas
Oritey, will keep my tradition of commenting on every single video even though I get to try none of the food.
Lucas Peterson enjoy your dollar :)
These sandwiches look great. Reminds of the subs you can get at Bay Cities.
TheLegend27 judging by your name you're an edgy virgin
Lucas Peterson if this is true I chose the wrong career path
My home town!! SSF Industrial City, Northern Cali!! El Camino Real
Yup, it's written on the side of a mountain that all can see when they take off or land at SFO!!!!!! 👍
Lucas was extra jolly this episode
You can't eat a whole Little Lucas sandwich(let alone 3 of them) without an assist from the devil's lettuce >=)

Lucas = Liked video
Naufal Wardhana Mr Half asleep...
Naufal Wardhana hi indo or malay guy
I've lived in SSF for 30 years and I see Little Lucca almost every day. It's quaint and tiny and I hope it never changes.
I've tried nibbles of almost all the sandwiches over the years, Amazing! I get a salad with a couple tubs of Garlic Sauce as dressing, mostly because I've seen co workers fall asleep from the food Coma.
You were in my neck of the woods at my favorite sandwich spot and didn't tell me!? Lucca's is outstanding. I'm glad you were able to spotlight them.
Lucas your personality is amazing..funny, articulate, charming, expressive, warm..I'll watch you eat a rock lol..you are that fantastic❤️

Yeah, but you SoCal folks have The Hat.
lucas singing is the best. scratch that anything lucas does is the best
The Lion King part was hilarious. I had to rewind that a few times for the extra giggles!! 😁
I knew I recognized the bread. Tigerbread is pretty common here in the Netherlands and it's great!
dutchies in san fran? why i never...
Lucas is one of the best presenters i saw on youTube
Никита Отдельнов ty bb 👌🏽
Love these videos keep em coming.
Lucas + sandwiches + Murphy Brown nostalgia = ❤️
Our Little Lucas at Lil Luca's!
:D
I loooooovvve Dutch crunch bread!!!!!!!! So lucky that so many SF sandwich places uses it!
My local sandwich joint. Thanks Lucas!
Loved this. Lucas is a real pro, his genuine excitement at the sandwiches shines through and he drops real ingredient knowledge too.
Another great job by Lucas . He knows his food and sure hope they keep him on this show .
Thank u Lucas for making my morning
Lucas unveiling sandwiches is all of us, "my little baby boy I'm so proud!"
Wow, right in my old stomping grounds. Went to El Camino High School and had these at least once a week. Love it love it love it. Get there before they run out.
I lost it when he started singing the lion king song 😂
A video with Lucas is a beautiful start to the day.
Lucas makes food history fun! Our team loves eating there. The sourdogh bread is solid as well.
I honestly prefer the sourdough over the dutch crunch!!!!!
Lucas, you're so subtle with your humor, it's so unexpected, but hilarious! Love it!
Lucas is honestly making me want to hop over the pond and come to the US just to try these places out! I'm in the UK and our British sandwich joints are totally different to the US ones (but still great though!)

its 11pm, have work at 4am. but i still need my daily dose of Lucas and eater.
OMG I love this place! Happy to see they've done an episode on it.
I figured I should mention, they also have a location in Burlingame.
Great video lucas, as always
thank you Lucas,..from the Philippines.
best show on this channel! needs so much more attention
One of the best sandwiches I've ever had was a mortadella sandwich. Simplicity is best--a sandwich should aspire to be greater than the sum of its parts. Kissing the sandwich before eating it is really the secret ingredient.
Lucas is so loved that bitter people are starting to hate him for no reason. I was hoping this day would never come
clenelyn I've noticed it for the past couple of weeks, as well. The haters are more numerous now, but I am unbothered. This is an inevitable part of the TH-cam circle of life. Ty for ur continued support bb 😘😘
They hate him because they don't need a thesaurus to understand what he's saying like with Nick. =)
I love that you said unbothered!!
People only hate Lucas cuz their wives and girl friends are getting robbed by Lucas
ah that's good to hear I was worried they might be getting to you. Thank you for all your hard work, the majority of us really love and appreciate it :)
Lucca's is the best deal. Took me about 8 years from when i saw that roach to come back, but i did come back, and enjoy the sandwiches again.
**hears Lucas signing the Lion King song**
**likes video IMMEDIATELY**
I was there when we opened the Grocery Outlet in South City. Amazing Sandwiches! Everything was amazing!
I live a few blocks away from this place! So delicious
Another place I want to try! Thanks, Lucas!
Oh Lucas, you bring us so much happiness with your hilarious quips! 🥇
After passionately naming each sandwich with names that one would reserve for their children. He proceeds to happily eat them all.....
Grew up one block away from a bakery that made Dutch crunch bread. My father would stop by on his way home from work and pick up a fresh loaf for us kids. damn, it was delicious. Thanks for the memories.
nice! thanks for sharing.
There are alot of great areas to eat or dine at in the "City by the Bay." Keep posting.
Lucas deserves to have his own food tv show!
Every eater video with Lucas in it is so good! Best host :) hi Lucas!
Lucas always "manages" even when he's eating his sandwiches! Another excellent video.
This place is really generous with the toppings unlike most sub shops.
My mouth...watering, salivating...
I went here before! So exciting seeing Lucas explore your hood.
Here I am in Colorado today making a lunch and wondering if Little Lucca's was still making those incredible sandwiches in South City. Lucas you are a magician! Thanks for answering my question, and giving me more than a few reasons for a California road trip.

Great videos thanks ☘️😊
I click "like" before I even watch the video because I know it is going to be great.
Those sandwiches looks so amazing
Hot roast beef with pepper jack on Dutch crunch, with everything on it, add bacon, avocado, and pepperoncini. That's always been my order there
Looks MouthWatering!!!
Lucas is Eater's BEST host! More in NY please :)
I freaking love this series
Piccolo Pete's in Sanfranisco Ca, Bayshore Blvd . Been there for since around 1960 lots of history! Rip to John
I only subscribed to Eater because of Lucas.

Any job openings left @Eater?
www.voxmedia.com/pages/careers-jobs
Eater do you ever need any teleprompter work?
Great, now i'm gonna order three sandwiches when I go try it for the first time.
It's not just rice paste on the bread it's also sesame oil witch gives it a distinctive flavour
You are awesome Lucas!!!
what does he start singing at 1:40 ?
Bronson Wally It's suppossed to be the beginning of The Circle of Life, but he changes the lyrics. An amazing song from The Lion King.
what does he start singing at 1:40 anyone know ?
Lucas could go to a subway built into a gas station, order a seafood imitation sub, and still convince me it's the best thing on the planet.
I've been to this place a lot and it's the best
I've never seen someone so excited for a sandwich
Lucas and Matthew are the best. They both have fun and enjoy the food, while the Meat dude talks as if he's better than everyone. Makes his videos hard to watch.
+IV Ltd he is the quintessential, most profound douche ;)
Dont get me started with the girl..
I agree with you 100% HOWEVER i must say.... he is getting better! The meat dude that is! Lucas 4 Lyfe tho
Awesome videos!
