America is the the stage of competition with China over technology. America doesn't have the advantages nor is able to compete thus the use of protectionist policies under the guise of "national security" is a way to maintain U.S hegemony over technology. The U.S consumer will be worse off and choices will be fewer but that's the cost the American capitalist class is willing to pay if it means their survival.

DJI is a Chinese Communist controlled company with a side job of collecting data. US should ban ALL that is made in China. Including the rice that may be spying on the water temperature in the pot. If you really want to know the extent of the Chinese spying network, explain how is possible that in every major city, every city block has a chinese nail salon with 10 chinese young women doing nails, getting maybe 12 customers a day and paying $20000 a month rent. Also, some of those chinese nail workers get moved around to different salons to avoid suspicion...(based of what needs to be collected and their expertise?). Ether there is one BIG nail company owning all those salons, or somebody else is paying for the rents at a major loss. All employees are chinese. Make the connection.

@@Nadoor70 I'm no DJI Fanboy, but after sampling most of the competitions products, like most folks I go where the best research, development products, capabilities and value are. Anyone claiming DJI products are expensive are misinformed. They may not be the uncontested, unbelievable value they were 5 ish years ago, as they started focusing on profitability more; that's what happens with all highly successful companies. Censorship, propaganda, and discontent of the people with the government soon iron curtain. And the saddest part is that the more freedoms are taken away the louder people are screaming- I am free as an attempt of mental self-defense. For reference here are the first lines of one of the most popular songs in the USSR:

This war is basically already lost. They have already made up their minds and just keep doubling down on the whole “national security” BS.
I love when they talk about how China is “ cheating”, then shortly after comparing Skydios’ flagship consumer Drone, to one of the absolute cheapest drones that DJI makes, to showcase how much cheaper DJI drones are because of government subsidies. If you compare two drones from those companies that are actually comparable, they’re very similarly priced, and in a lot of cases, DJI is more expensive(because they are better lol).
They just pick and choose what they want to share to make their point. They say that we are forced to buy Chinese drones because of the price. No for certain things like inspection drones and even just consumer drones. DJI just makes the best and most reliable aircraft. Nobody is forcing me to buy anything. In fact, I just purchased a Mavic three enterprise for inspection and mapping. There are zero US drones that can even come close to what DJI produces. I would love to buy American, but American drone makers, don’t have the research and development/capability(I guess) to match the technology. They also have a competing CEO up there being questioned on how we can protect our national security?🤔(KILL OUR COMPETITION), blah blah blah. It’s all a bunch of bleeping bureaucratic garbage.
What I want to know is why Skydio didn’t show off their agricultural drones. You know, the ones that they’re planning to replace the DJI drones with? It’s because THEY DONT FUCKING MAKE THEM!! They don’t know how…The farmers are FUCKED!!

Okay, Drone Pilots let’s by clear about the Bill Passed. (H.R. 2864) This Bill is strictly for the use of Federal Funding to Purchase or the Use of DJI Drones for Government Contracts. It is not affecting private usage or Pilots. Now to further clarify what is really going on. There are specific “No Fly Zones” for DJI Drones laid out for those flying DJI Drones. As a general rule of thumb a Part 107 Pilot should be aware of where and when they can fly. Let’s be real about it. If the Federal Government is involved DJI Drones are not allowed to be any part of that project or contract PERIOD! Go American or Go Home… That’s the Statement being made! This is the goal of those coming up with opposition to Chinese manufactured Drones. Final Thoughts: “We The People”, need to come together and do something about this problem. Being proactive and letting the Politicians who are writing these Bills need to know American manufactures must start produce affordable drones, so the little guy/gal can compete with Big Businesses. Entrepreneurship is the American way! No one should be shut out of an industry due to the lack of affordability.
