@@TxxT33 Comic book movies are a million times superior to this, because at least none of them try to denigrate Orson Welles with lies and half-truths. This is easily the worst thing Fincher has ever done.

@@matheus31218 yeah because the plot is easy to understand, it's predictable and have many big CGI action that'll keep you awake. Mank is something for people who likes to learn history and want to learn more about the 1930s Hollywood especially about the making of Citizen Kane. Despite its problem, I still have a good time watching Mank. I don't think this is the worst thing Fincher has done, he did this for the sake of his father who wrote the script years ago before he passed away. Fincher's father would've been proud for his son. I love comic book movies and I love Mank, it is an entertaining movie. And Fincher's movies is way better than most overrated comic book movies out there let's be real, this is a great achievement in filmmaking

this is great, but what would be amazing is if at some point Netflix would start adding commentaries as a second audio choice (maybe they did, I didn't catch any, only other languages)... Fincher has made an audio commentary for dvd/bluray releases of all his movies, but now since this one is streaming, I doubt there'll be any... I think a lot of people interested in this would love an audio commentary as well, and if you can switch between language audio tracks it's really a matter of good will... I'd personally love to see that, and would hate it if the tradition stopped because movies are going to streaming, it can definitely be done, it's only a matter of whether the director and Netflix want to make it happen

The key of this film was casting Gary Oldman and the rest of the cast nevertheless, Gary is the centre of the plot movie because he's the protagonist, so he didn't disappoint me at all. On the other hand, I still don't get why David Fincher hasn't won any Oscar yet but, let's be honest, the Oscars are disgraceful, even more now that I knew the Oscars's ceremony of this year was quite criticized. As I didn't see it, I'm wondering; what went wrong?

I love David finchers movies. But this one was a tough watch for me. Objectively speaking, it’s a good movie - and I can see why someone else would like it.
But for me, It was uneventful, not necessarily a great story to tell, and I didn’t care about any of the characters. I found his secretary to be the only compelling character.
And I usually love Trent and Atticus when they do Finchers scores, but I really didn’t like their take on black and white era film scores.
I think I would have liked this better if he had not tried to make this movie feel like a 1930s movie.
    But that’s just me.

So I’m a huge Fincher fan. Incredible attention to detail, meticulous, cinematic. But Mank.....yet another movie about an alcoholic writer. 🤮 Hollywood: Enough already. Please stop. You know who likes movies about Hollywood & drunk writers? Hollywood, movie critics and actors who love to play drunk writers because they think they are witty and clever and tragic. But in fact they are boorish, obnoxious and dull, as this film clearly demonstrates. I read Fincher stopped making the fantastic Netflix series Mindhunter to make this bland homage to Citizen Kane. What a waste of everyone’s time and talent. And my time. Two hours I’ll never get back.

@@65g4 I fully respect your right to love movies about old Hollywood and fully respect your right to be wrong about “Mank” keeping in mind that, in the end, your and my opinion matter to no one but ourselves. Still, it is fun to debate the “merits”, or lack thereof, of movies. And I don’t smoke, I much prefer gummies. Perhaps if I’d had a few gummies before viewing “Mank” I would have enjoyed it as much as you did.
