My great uncle raised a wolf cub from the wild whose mother had been killed. He gave the rest of the "cubs" away to other people. He told my dad that though it lived a docile life around people, he would hunker down when a barnyard chicken walked by and instinctively snap it's head off! The hunter instinct was still there. He eventually got rid of him. I don't know whether he turned it loose in the wild or gave it away. Another difference is that left alone in the woods, a dog would probably starve, not knowing how to hunt. Not a wolf. Instinctively, they know they must kill for their food, and when they get hungry, they do.
A dog, large enough breed can still kill, when it believes necessary. It believes that hunting is obsolete, because we successfully communicated to the dog that it need not kill for food. There are search and rescue dogs that use their hunting instincts and skills to not catch and kill prey but to serve another purpose.
@wip.. Its only natural when you think of how many different dogs there is all around the world that some are going to be bigger than a wolf. But i was way off there, the wolf is much taller, much longer, and maybe heavier or the same weight. Depending on how heavy the gs dog is. For years i just saw a wolf as a wild dog and not that much bigger. But i have friends that have seen wolfs, and they told me "i couldnt believe the size of it, up close there really big. I noticed there legs looked very long as that what makes them big in height, and its body was easily 6 feet long. But i couldnt say it looked well built, but you can tell just by its size its got alot of strength and the weight to be really fast when in a fight to kill. There size alone is scary, i have seen hundreds of big dogs but this was different as it was big alone just in how long it was and i havent seen a dog as long as that ever, plus it was at least 3 feet tall, easy, it would take alot to beat it.

This man: wolfdogs are dangerous and poorly behaved Actual wolfdog owners: yeah huskies terrify me, my wd is so much better behaved than any husky I’ve heard of
A wolfdog can be either, more on the dog side, or more on the wolf. If it's more on the wolf side, you have a real problem on your hands. It is quite a gamble, and I would discourage people from owning wolfdogs.
@@independentthought3390 yeaaah even a low content wolfdog will usually end up with more wolf personality traits than dog. That’s why breeders screen so heavily regardless of what the pup is thought to be. Heck the recommended % for a first time owner is no more than 10-15%, and even then both breeders and the community will be extremely harsh on you if you go into it uneducated. But that’s fairly hard to do, because if you don’t have enough knowledge to even have the right enclosures for them (barebones gatekeeping that’s shockingly effective), no responsible breeder will even give you a second thought. Regardless, there’s zero “real problem” as long as you’re going into it with knowledge and decent handling/behavioural experience. Wolfdogs are not at all dangerous, even pure wolves aren’t dangerous unless you’re being an absolute moron, it’s entirely on the owner how they turn out.
Mine is a Husky, but has the personality of a golden retriever and the discipline of a German shepherd 😂 I love her. Plus she only howls if we (her hoomans) do it first, if not she is the quietest dog I have ever meet
My husky’s are hunters of small animals, I saw them tug of war with a woodchuck and then one of them dug a hole and started buying it, they are trained house dogs but have that survival, Hunter instinct.
I have a full🩸GS mixed with wolf/husky 5mo old pup. Sorry this was long, but I hope it helps anyone deciding to try breeding wolves w/huskies or other similar wolffish looking breeds. I have a wolf/husky mix, named Ghost, that is solid white with ice blue eyes. He mated with the full blood German shepherd female that lives on the farm next to ours. We have one of the 10 puppies. His name is Thor , & he has the look of a somewhat long haired, very long legged German Shepherd with HUGE paws. His face has some of the husky “eyeliner” framing, and one gold eye& one 1/2gold +1/2 ice blue eye. SO beautiful, and my GOD, is he smart. As fir temperament, The German shepherd bitch is usually sweet, but often very temperamental & kind of a doofus, so he got his smarts & sweet temperament from the wolf/husky side. Funnily, husky are known for beingVERY vocal. Ghost is not very vocal, but when I he is, he’s legitimately trying to talk. Shepherds are known to be barky-butts and Thor got some of that, but he’s MUCH calmer than his full blood Shepherd mother, & Ghost, being fully 1/2 wolf, is calmer that both put together. The ONLY time I’ve ever seen Ghost have any sort of aggression is when oblack men, abs ONLY men, come unannounced onto our property OR someone other than the family “pack” comes near the children with what he thinks is harmful intent or to scold them, but calms quickly and easily when reassured it’s OKAY by one of his family/pack. The rest of the time he sees strangers or feels something uncertain in the air, he will place himself in front of us &/or the children (grown or babies- 10 kids, oldest 25, youngest 1) raise his hackles slightly, and give a “don’t even dare” look. Again, he’s easily calmed & redirected. Thor has this sane demeanor, but will bark to alert where as Ghost will just give a light, low, slow growl. They are AMAZING, beautiful, jaw-droopingly intelligent, gentle and very easily trained. Thor is only 5mo old abs obeys most any command you can think of. Ghost literally understands English, German & Romanian , obeys all commands unless he’s upset about something he feels he needs to tend to IMMEDIATELY, abs will try to tell you what’s wrong, show you, open and close doors, fetch things you ask for... you name it, Ghost the Dire Wolf Husky does it. Bit he abs Thor are he’s VERY observant, mindful & protective. Ghost is capable to lead blind men down the busy farm to market road we live on without them getting a scratch. He does it for my blind niece all the time and has never been formally trained to do so. I wish I could share pics, here. If you DO get a wolf husky mix, make sure you get it as young as possible, & obedience training is a must. The rest was so easy, it’s ridiculous. He has broken out of windows , however when neighbour bitches were in heat. Call of the wild, BABY! (Or gooooood smelly dog pu$$y... 😂) This is anecdotal evidence , at best, of how good they are because each dog, & wolf, are different However, any wolf/husky mixes I have seen have Always been exemplary airy models of what a beautiful, sturdy, hearty, strong and very intelligent and loving dog should be.And we are seeing the same qualities with Thor who is 1/4 wolf, 1/4 husky and 1/2 German Shepherd. He’s SO good, we’ve talked of breeding them, or another GS bitch again, mayyonevwjth double recessive genes like Ghost whose also white with/ ice blue eyes. It could really be a trend. Beautiful, protective but not aggressive, and as smart as any intelligent 10 year old human , at the very least. They also have MUCH stronger immune systems due to the wolf blood.! Ghost was a rescue dog, & his breeding with the Shepherd next house over wasn’t intentional, but MAN.... we are sure glad it all happened !!
Not all huskies are equal, not all wolves are equal - in understanding what we want from them. This peaceful hybrid is perhaps more understanding of the human communication efforts than another wolfdog, or the human happens to be an excellent communicator toward another species (the hybrid husky wolf dog). The husky was wild, but became a close companion, therefore tame or domesticated, to people living in Siberia a long time ago. They (husky and the Siberian people) worked together, ate together, even slept together to maintain warmth. Perhaps the husky dog thought it had 'domesticated' the Siberian people... But both the husky dog and wolf do not know how to work with fire, still. Only humans know the 'secret', and knew it for millions of years. The husky dog fur coat and wolf fur coat is good enough to keep warm, but fire also works well. It was brutally cold.
Had 2 as a kid here in Northern Ontario. Very protective of their humans. I as a toddler was able to mess with the dog and it wouldn't do anything. I could sleep on its belly between its legs and when my parents told me they tried to take me to bed? Mishka would growl lol sure I was a toddler but I still remember mishka. You were always so gentle mishka! ❤
If you don't know what the difference is between a wolf and a husky you don't even need to be watching this video I'm not knocking either one I'm not knocking this video wolves are intelligent wild animals I've owned them for 30 years and there's a lot to it do not suggest just anybody get a wolf hybrid puppy until you do some research remember that animals wild that instinct is bread into him he will always be wild but you can have them as pets mine or house broke they live with other types of dogs they play they run they hunt I'm lucky I live on the farm and I can take my wolves for moonlight walks on the alpha of this wolf pack and they know it
A long time ago, the husky is the wolf that is "tamer", and stayed. The wolf is the wolf that left, because it has a job to do in this human world...to maintain balance in the wilderness that is still a big part of the home planet of humans.
NA red wolf is a hybrid of Cyote and Grey wolf, since all of the species under the genus Canis can interbreed, with grey wolves being able to breed with all dog breeds, since they are considered the same subspecies, with mostly phenotypical differences over genetic differences(appearances, height, etc. being different, but having enough of a physiological similarity to not be considered their own separate sub species), mostly being the paw size, face/ear shapes, height, chest width, eye color(wolves have amber eyes, any other color is a mutation introduced to wolf populations by dog eye color mutation) and bite force. As well as bite inhibition towards humans/other domestic pets.
You have to Raise them from a pup my dad was riding our Private own trails and found a Wolf pup we Raised her at the Time we had A Female pitbull that had just had puppy's and Lost one so she took the baby wolf in as one of her own our Wolf's name was White Fang we ended up breeding her with a Husky and my uncle ended up with white fang
Wrong. They had domesticated dogs in medival times. Look at the dog hounds and bulldogs that the royals had. They were NOT out here domesticated wolves. 😂😂😂🤣🤣 That's literally an oxymoron. You can't change DNA.
They can beautiful pets to humans, but have a high prey drive, and scrabble with other smaller animals, so if u don’t mind a mysterious, whitish-furred, blue-eyed girl with some scars around her face who loves to stay out all night in warmer weather and bark, then she is for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Howling in wild is warning to outsider and howling also leads in male for upcoming heir of pack. And lastly I belive howling in husky is very similar to wolf. To connect being in pack
I looked this up because I board this huskie and he loved me but hate my husband and his owner feeds him weird and I asked him why he said oh he is a wolf I was trying to see if it was a joke or not
Actually the Husky has Blue eyes, Amber eyes, mixed color eyes, or black eyes. The Wolf has Amber eyes and maybe black. So you see both the Husky and Wolf can both have Amber color eyes. Also there are Show Huskys with Agote color Fur like a Wolf. They are hard to find in America and usually are shipped from Russia per Animal Watch TH-cam channel. Now I'm wondering if a Tamaskan Wolfdog is legal to own in America because if so it will be my Puppy Huskys Friend or Wife.
Sometimes Huskies can howl if a siren or other noise they hear from something electrical or mechanical like lightning predictor siren or a noaa weather radio going off they’ll be able to tell if the component is working or not if they hear it and they howl to it lol😂
My dogs mom was a husky and his dad was a wolf or husky and wolf breed he’s far from dangerous😂😂 he’s scared of my fat tabby cat 😂😂 and my grandmas Chihuahua he’s like a big baby he’s 8
You need to remake the video it has too many gaps in volume and an explanation almost as if you forgot what you were talking about or didn't understand or know
Very little differences except the muzzle an inch smaller but still or quarter inch but there is very little difference between head ears teeth jaw muzzle body build etc i bet thoughmelimut are same size they bigger same size as wolf also change little very little but will tye if melimut fought it both will die possibly or both get hurt
@@DogsNowChannel nope it's just like Volkswagen of the thirties very little change except split window and big wide licence plate in back no different from Herbie but those two differences these two cousins ancestors like German Shepard and coyote no different either very little both small or smaller than wolf any way but Wiley intelligent just couple of little differences
@@DogsNowChannel There are though. Both eye colour and coat, Wolves are much larger than properly bred Huskies, and have a much stronger bite force. Male Gray Wolves can weight up to 80Kg (180 pounds) while the breed standard for a male Siberian Husky is 20-27Kg (45-60 pounds).
Look I don't know why people are afraid of wolf/dogs so called hybrids but all dogs decend from wolves so a mix would be a wolf no longer a dog because the bloods still there and how the temperament are I have one a dog that is a pup of a wolf and a husky and walks free and is about 10 years old never ever bit anyone I raised and trained him simular to military training and I show him I am the Alfa when I am home but he romes off a lot never kills farm animals he is pretty heavy about 120 pounds or more depending on the season and is the same size as huskies and is very protective and will hurt other dogs but never causes any bleeding to show leadership and trust me if he was to bite a person which I put so many years of training so he won't would have been put down I live in mexico the country and nobody gives me problems of him looks just like the wolf just short and has black and white coat very humble I am firm but gentle to all animals people have given me the nickname animal whisper
You can be sure they won’t be aggressive if you raise them properly. Get them used to handling and petting as a pup, socialize them well with people and other animals early on, exercise them daily (5-10 mile hikes or jobs) and have them eat with other animals and pet them while they eat to help them from becoming food aggressive. I’m case of most attacks I think it’s a lack of understanding in how to care for them. They’re not a normal dog, he’ll most people can’t even control dogs. Not all on people, some have bought high content wolf dogs trying to get a German Shepherd.
This makes me upset. People dont listen to this. I had a wolfhybrid (husky/wolf)for 14 years. And he was the sweetest kindest wolfdog. He did never show any aggresiv against anyone, he was so sensitive and kind. Dont make people afraid of wolfdogs like this when you dont know what you are talking about. Wolfdog love the owner even more than ordinary dogs.
Wasn't factual about Huskies either, they have never had the independent nature or desire to hunt bred out of them over the thousands of years they've been around. Instead they've just had their drive increased. Which makes them a handful to have as a pet hence the shelters being full of them because morons that don't do their research and want a "fur baby". They get one or more find out that training is an utter mission unless you're a pro (independent nature, high prey drive, part of job on sleds is to overrule the musher if they make mistakes). Find out that they can escape from almost anywhere and travel for miles upon miles before being found or being shot by a farmer due to them hunting livestock. And that they enjoy destroying vegetation. Then they dump the poor Husky in the shelter just for the cycle to repeat. Unlike modern man made dogs, the Husky has been around for thousands of years and still has the coat markings, pointed ears, bite force (higher than Malis, Pitts, and GSDs), and prey drive of a wild canine. They are more than domesticated pets.
Yea NOT the same. Certain Pitts are more aggressive DUE to humans. But they are 100% more domesticated when raised right. Wolves are BORN with different instincts to be aggressive because they're apex WILD predators. Not the same.
I have a German shepherd wolf. I'm sher she is overly big and her legs are way too skinny to be full husky and she looks so much like a wolf it's obvious
there was no russia 1000 years ago 😂. The one who you are talking about are not russian ancestors, but totally different people like Chukchi and other nationality, which were occupied only few centuries ago..
Think its like 23inchs for a Husky and over 26 uo to 33 or might been 39 but thats just the wolf that they kinda resemble.
This is anecdotal evidence , at best, of how good they are because each dog, & wolf, are different However, any wolf/husky mixes I have seen have Always been exemplary airy models of what a beautiful, sturdy, hearty, strong and very intelligent and loving dog should be.And we are seeing the same qualities with Thor who is 1/4 wolf, 1/4 husky and 1/2 German Shepherd. Ghost was a rescue dog, & his breeding with the Shepherd next house over wasn’t intentional, but MAN.... we are sure glad it all happened !!
maam your comment is so long i cant read it
Glad you committed!
My friend had a husky wolf hybrid and she was the most peaceful dog I've ever met.
Lies
Sounds like she got one that wasn't a F1..probably closer to F7 if it was completely docile
I think Huskies ancestors are wolves like you said they howl the same and they good at hunting and tracking
All Dogs have wolf ancestors
@@faranbutt Huskies are a direct descendant of the now extinct Taimyr Wolf according to the most recent DNA studies done on a Taimyr rib bone.
3:53 that commentary cutoff 😂😂😂
Lol
Had 2 as a kid here in Northern Ontario. Very protective of their humans. I as a toddler was able to mess with the dog and it wouldn't do anything. I could sleep on its belly between its legs and when my parents told me they tried to take me to bed? Mishka would growl lol sure I was a toddler but I still remember mishka. You were always so gentle mishka! ❤
I want a German Shepard mixed with a husky mixed with a wolf
Dang..might make a video on that dog
Dude it's not buffett, that you want.
Tamaskan dog is what this is usually called.
@@DogsNowChannel bro ain’t they all wolves
Its called a gerberian shepsky and they are super beautiful
why want a pet wolf, get a pet jaguar or something that's possible to tame like a baby puma
maybe a baby panther
@@DogsNowChannel hell yeah that would be dope 😂
If you don't know what the difference is between a wolf and a husky you don't even need to be watching this video I'm not knocking either one I'm not knocking this video wolves are intelligent wild animals I've owned them for 30 years and there's a lot to it do not suggest just anybody get a wolf hybrid puppy until you do some research remember that animals wild that instinct is bread into him he will always be wild but you can have them as pets mine or house broke they live with other types of dogs they play they run they hunt I'm lucky I live on the farm and I can take my wolves for moonlight walks on the alpha of this wolf pack and they know it
That sounds cool but I’m good lol
A long time ago, the husky is the wolf that is "tamer", and stayed. The wolf is the wolf that left, because it has a job to do in this human world...to maintain balance in the wilderness that is still a big part of the home planet of humans.
The difference is wolves is cool and badass or dangerous, huskys are cool and cute but different than wolf , some of wolf is killing humans or animals
Nah, a Husky is like a teenage son. I've had two males and gave up training with both, we just have a an understanding.
What did he say around 2:50 about wolves not eating fish? I didn't understand that at all
Sorry I'm late, but he literally read that part off of the Minecraft wiki. In Minecraft, you can heal a tamed wolf by feeding it meat.
I want a wolf
Ataccked
And wolf wants u
You have to Raise them from a pup my dad was riding our Private own trails and found a Wolf pup we Raised her at the Time we had A Female pitbull that had just had puppy's and Lost one so she took the baby wolf in as one of her own our Wolf's name was White Fang we ended up breeding her with a Husky and my uncle ended up with white fang
Don’t, dogs are better

"Wolves get better from rest and good food" so what you're saying is men are wolves
Husky is a mix of dog and wolf or wolf Siberian malamute mix
An Alaskan Husky is a mix. Siberian Huskies are not a mix.
Nope there is no Malamute in Siberian Huskies, like the Malamute the Husky is an ancient breed dating back thousands of years.
We have become so weak compared to humans from medieval times back then they could train even wolves now people barely manage with chihuahuas
Wrong. They had domesticated dogs in medival times. Look at the dog hounds and bulldogs that the royals had. They were NOT out here domesticated wolves. 😂😂😂🤣🤣 That's literally an oxymoron. You can't change DNA.
They can beautiful pets to humans, but have a high prey drive, and scrabble with other smaller animals, so if u don’t mind a mysterious, whitish-furred, blue-eyed girl with some scars around her face who loves to stay out all night in warmer weather and bark, then she is for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
imma need the @ at 2:04 please, thank you
Thirsty bastard
I have a black German shepherd, husky, wolf. He is so gently. He looks like the black on you are showing
What if i say i have a Grey Wolf
Howling in wild is warning to outsider and howling also leads in male for upcoming heir of pack. And lastly I belive howling in husky is very similar to wolf. To connect being in pack
my guy why are you talking so slowly?
“We humans love intervening” you mean “we Caucasians”
No he meant all humans, not just Caucasians.
Lol what?
Nice racist comment
@@johnnyb7628 Nope, just Caucasian.
@@rustyjohnson7796 It’s historically accurate is it not?
I just want to have a husky
My husky is just like a wolf
Husky vs Wolf. 1.000% the Wolf the winner. The Wolf to the batlle wins the 98-99% all the Dogs!
Well a Wolf is 2 or 3 times the size of a properly bred Husky and has a much stronger biteforce.
@@Spr1ggan87 Exactly!
Here after that lady killed a husky

How do you even get a wolf as a pet?!
My dogs mom was a husky and his dad was a wolf or husky and wolf breed he’s far from dangerous😂😂 he’s scared of my fat tabby cat 😂😂 and my grandmas Chihuahua he’s like a big baby he’s 8
haha nice!
Guarantee that you dont have a real wolf dog. That's like white Indian Cherokee
I want to adopt a Siberian Husky, and can you do Siberian Husky Vs Husky? Please. Thank you!
That’s a good idea will do
Ok
Siberian Husky vs Husky?? What's the difference?? It's like saying Labrador Retriever vs Labrador.
I want wolf 😂😂
And the pope wants to stop shitting in the forest
husky looks like if you order a wolf from wish
You need to remake the video it has too many gaps in volume and an explanation almost as if you forgot what you were talking about or didn't understand or know
Wolves should be left alone!
Why does everyone think huskies look like wolves? They look nothing like wolves
Uhhh.... if you look at the thumbnail the huskies white spot on his/her forehead is kinda sus if you look closely.
I can't concentrate on your voice because i was listening only your bgm
Rocky is not a wolf, this explains their differences
Very little differences except the muzzle an inch smaller but still or quarter inch but there is very little difference between head ears teeth jaw muzzle body build etc i bet thoughmelimut are same size they bigger same size as wolf also change little very little but will tye if melimut fought it both will die possibly or both get hurt
Great point. Not many differences
Bull crap. Wolves and wolf hybrids are safe. Why is there so much propaganda against wolves? Incredible
Good info thank you
Look I don't know why people are afraid of wolf/dogs so called hybrids but all dogs decend from wolves so a mix would be a wolf no longer a dog because the bloods still there and how the temperament are I have one a dog that is a pup of a wolf and a husky and walks free and is about 10 years old never ever bit anyone I raised and trained him simular to military training and I show him I am the Alfa when I am home but he romes off a lot never kills farm animals he is pretty heavy about 120 pounds or more depending on the season and is the same size as huskies and is very protective and will hurt other dogs but never causes any bleeding to show leadership and trust me if he was to bite a person which I put so many years of training so he won't would have been put down I live in mexico the country and nobody gives me problems of him looks just like the wolf just short and has black and white coat very humble I am firm but gentle to all animals people have given me the nickname animal whisper
Keep wolves in the wild
You can be sure they won’t be aggressive if you raise them properly. Get them used to handling and petting as a pup, socialize them well with people and other animals early on, exercise them daily (5-10 mile hikes or jobs) and have them eat with other animals and pet them while they eat to help them from becoming food aggressive. I’m case of most attacks I think it’s a lack of understanding in how to care for them. They’re not a normal dog, he’ll most people can’t even control dogs.
Not all on people, some have bought high content wolf dogs trying to get a German Shepherd.
This is one of the worst produced videos on TH-cam 😂. It’s almost like watching a 90s Nollywood film 😭😭😭
Of course it's a woman saying this.
Commentary is not good brother , but it's ok work on it and it is not so much detailfull
your telling your opinion of the wild wolf not the absolute truth of wolves they hunt because they are starving
Gray wolves aren’t the biggest canines just one of them
I like thet
I have rottewiler
Rottie!
The same can be said about the pit bull, also a wild beast which you can't have around.
Pits are domestic dogs. Literally not a wild beast.
Yeah you're absolutely wrong, probably a demonicrat too.
A domestic savage beast
Yea NOT the same. Certain Pitts are more aggressive DUE to humans. But they are 100% more domesticated when raised right. Wolves are BORN with different instincts to be aggressive because they're apex WILD predators. Not the same.
