Hobby art I think is the name of the 70’s painting craft.

My grandmother dressed bride dolls. I have always been a quilter, sewer, knitter and crafter but when we retired to Tasmania from the Australian mainland I took up weaving which progressed to spinning. I love my spinning and working with wool and alpaca. Look forward to future blogs.🙏

Wow! That's so cool you got to go to Tasmania. I have a friend there - Helen Stubbings. She's a quilter and her sister, Tracy Browning lives in Kadina on the mainland. It's on my bucket list to get there. Let's stay in touch. I hope to be doing more and more here, so thank you for stopping by!

Just found this lovely video and after watching, hoped to go through all your videos - only to be disappointed😂. I hope there are many forthcoming - I just love that you are continuing both your mothers traditions. A beautiful thing. Can’t wait to see more. Your MILs looms are SUCH treasures. Best to you.

That is very sweet. Thanks for this amazing introduction. Besides my great grandma who was a haute couture seamstress I’m the only fiber enthusiast in the family. I’m 38, a male, in an area where no one spins or weaves here in France but it does not stop from having all the fun🎉 hugs ❤Adrien

Enjoy your studio space! I am a looong time spinner/weaver and textile artist, and have just inherited one more room in our house to use as an additional studio. I currently have a very crammed space upstairs in a spare room where I do everything, but there is NO space to put the looms. They will now go in the new space-once we get our kitchen rennovation done, I can work on that room, transforming it into a new textile space. My sewing and art quilting are sharing the upstairs studio with a ton of paper crafting supplies, which have taken over in there. I love that your space is clutter free and plenty of room to move around the looms. Thank you for sharing! Happy crafting!

Isn't it crazy how our projects and equipment E X P A N D ?? I know mine has since I did that video. We are currently in northeast Ohio for a year, so weaving is different, but I am still finding a way. I LOVE that you do all the things. Creating is so important. I am planning to do more with the channel so, hopefully, we can connect again. Thanks for stopping by (and I am REALLY sorry it took me so long to respond!!)

Those are some really cool looms machines. I'm impressed that you have these. My wife loves Quilts, are you going to be selling some? You may have a customer....lol Oh such a touching story of about Gram making things. I can tell you have a lot of passion for this. The sample you showed, i had no idea of how many types of stitching is out there, that's amazing. Wow, i just learned a lot about this just from this video. Very nice and thank you!

Thank you! I HAVE sold quilts in the past, but honestly, they are too labor intensive to actually make any money. They are more a labor of love. I could TEACH your wife to quilt, but you wouldn't like me very much after I did. It's a very expensive hobby! 🤣I'm hoping by showcasing these skills, people will look at the work their mothers and grandmothers did and appreciate them all the more. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Is there an inexpensive table loom? Thanks

Honestly, I haven't ever seen an inexpensive one. In fact, I was surprised at the price myself. I can only suggest keeping an eye out in Facebook Marketplace or a local guild might have some leads. All the best!
