I agree but i feel like they’re pushing vocals, like lily doesnt seem to be able to hit some of the notes nicely. Like yes she can hit it but i can see her going down the Eunha and Jihyo road where they are still good after years of singing high notes but they slightly got worse

@@jenodreams The “Experimental” songs is what I am scared of for Lily. Lily can definitely hit the notes, but because experimental songs are all over the place, she constantly needs to change her tone to match the song, which might be bad for her.
the whole aesthetic of lesserafim and new jeans is just spectacular. that y2k is like the more colourful side of 80s vintage whole lesserafim holds that 70s powerful modelling concept-hybe may have terrible luck with ggs, but it’s clear they have a great thinking for their ggs image.

i genuinely feel so bad for nmixx😭 their vocals are UNREAL,everyone is a strong dancer as well. if they had a good debut they would probably be one of the groups i think will take roty,but they definitely wont. the only ones who i think are taking roty are ive,i mean over 20 wins with only two songs? 14 wins with only their debut? thats just insane. besides them i love love newjeans and lesserafim theyre amazing as well! as for kep1er,they have a lot of potential i just dont see them winning
IVE will most likely win, and their competition is either NewJeans/Kep1er. Lesserafim will probably not win, because the Korean audience still isn’t done with the Garam case, and we all know how K-Nets affect the ROTY’s.

I'm really sad that Billlie isn't here, but I understand why because (unfortunately) they are not as popular as the other ones. Still, I believe they have one of the most interesting and original concepts if you watch their videos and mvs and try to understand their lore. It's a mystery Story about a friend group where one member, called Billlie, is missing. The Story is really interesting and capturating. Also, they have two incredible Main vocalist, two amazing Main rappers and two outstanding Main dancers. They have everything to be successfull, but unfotunately they don't get recognized enough🙈

If u think they are taking longer what about nmixx they debuted in February but they haven’t had a cb yet we need to see if they release more songs to see if it’s gonna be shit again. ppl can say all they want abt nmixx being likely to win if they had a better debut, but let’s be honest: once starship released those concept photos with wonyoung and yujin, it was obvious that ive was going to bag the majority of the roty awards. the fact that they debuted in late 2021 gave them even more of an advantage to prove themselves with multiple releases

honestly i would LOOOOOOVE le sserafim to get that roty. their songs are really so good and unique especially the great mermaid...they charted really well but not as well as ive or nj
Yeah unfortunately the scandal took away a lot of people attention. People are saying they only did well cause of G and the scandal which isn’t true it’s actually the opposite. They lost out on so many opportunities cause of it, like promos they just about got magazines shoot, most of their Korean tv appearances were pre planned before debut only one that wasn’t was the one Yunjin just recently done. Got zero radio appearances like groups usually do. Even struggled to get music show wins, got no raks or number one. The fact that we got 50M views in 7 days (16.1M in 24hrs) just shows the potential they had to reach 100M it shouldn’t have taken 100days. But everyone was too focused on the scandal and most fans were busy defending Sseras. Ot5 fans busy bullying G and G fans fighting for her. It was a mess but regardless all that our girls still managed get some good achievements even broke a couple records. That just goes to show you how powerful they are and I know they’ll be even better with their comeback (Just hope there’s not another issue) I want them to have a fresh start with this comeback and show people who discredited them exactly what they’re made of

i think ive has definitely had a busy schedule which is why their performances have been lacking in a some specific performances. after performing love dive for a month and then going on tour/performing in a ton of festivals i don’t think anyone would perform at 100% not to mention that they didn’t have much of a break from eleven-love dive

Im sorry but every group has literally busy schedule its not rlly an excuse for me- anyways they still rookies they will definitely improve over the time and they ain't bad they are better than some older groups- they all are so talented im sure they will definitely improve alot by time
@@slayyrin They sometimes get no sleep. Yeah, everyone is busy but ive's schedule is ridiculous. They had to travel, film for promotion, mc jobs, mag covers and do variety shows day after day. Even yujin slept in the variety show called earth arcade because she came from germany and immediately travelled to thailand the next day for the variety show.

tbh i never was a garam hater, people didn't even know the full story, her side. it was a bit upsetting for me to see her be removed when i loved her voice so much. even in ot5 stages you can see how the other members struggle or don't match her voice, especially the first lines of fearless that are lower. unlikely but I hope she gets added back, loved her voice.

@@M5FTZ fr, even if she was a bully, people can change. its getting annoying when kpop fans or previous friends of kpop idols stir up controversy about when they were in school, especially when its not true and just want to cause problems or something.
she was a kid, plus she is now proven innocent, but the fact that she was scared that her career could be ruined because she defended her friend makes me realize that the world is a very very cruel place.
what’s worse is that people still trash on her despite already pretty much having her dreams stolen away from her. and its really worrying as that must take such a heavy toll on her mental state (especially bc she’s literally just a teen).
IVE’s discography is really something else, none of the songs are forgettable, they’re all bangers (for me)

I love le sserafim SOO MUCH. I would personally rank them at first in discography. Their mini album made it for me. They have talented dancers , vocalists and performers (we still aren't so sure about their raps so lets wait till the next comeback). Each songs of their is so different and diverse but so good at the same time. They're synchronised and they scream STAGE PRESENCE (tbh yunjin is slaying every time) and every member is talented. I can't wait for their next comeback, they are amazing !
i think ive girlies are pretty alright in terms of vocals and performance but what really carries their fame is their production quality. starship was smart for choosing these specific members, they literally have this “idol factor” together as a whole group + high quality songs that are memorable, interesting and catchy + the simple but catchy and recognisable(!!) dances. starship also invests a shit ton of money into them, as seen from their mvs, pretty outfits and songs(!) so i am absolutely sure they will get multiple rotys and perhaps even a daesang.
I'd love to see an updated ranking now that these groups are a year in their career, it'd be interesting to see what changed
I have remember how happy I was when I finally found out that LE SSERAFIM was debuting after months of waiting because of the disbandment of IZ*ONE, they stayed with their debut and will be supporting them all the way.

Kep1er deserves more credit, once they get better songs I hope people start to realise how talented they are. They are working constantly with no breaks & get mistreated by their company yet still pull off amazing performances.
LE SSERAFIM are really in a league of their own in my opinion. I want more songs from them where Yunjin and Chaewon show their true potential as vocalists. Performance wise, no one can beat them at the moment honestly, y'all remember the full live stage they had? Exactly, no one is doing it like them.
I also want to point out how Kep1er really deserves more, they have very nice songs; high quality (MVSK, Le Voya9e best B sides). Their energy is unmatched and their commitment is really something else. They have the strongest dance line, great rappers and good vocalists with distinct sounds. I hope the next comeback would give them a better spot in the industry.

dude pls keep pulling these kinds of ranking videos out! i LOVE this shit! as someone that performed in show choir for my entire high school career, this ranking setup was EVERYTHING to me. i always loved performing and having the time of my life on stage and then taking judges critiques for how to improve. keep doing what ur doing bc i kno u love creating this kind of content and i cant wait to see more from u! (also hell yea, billlie for sure tops all these groups)
The competition for the ROTY awards is going to be fierce but they're all pretty deserving! But at the end of the day, I think discography is the most important to gain fans and attract attention so I'm looking forward to Le sserafim and NMIXX comeback but for now le sserafim has really won me over with the concept, the song, their addictive performance and vocals !
Music category must be le sserafim, I agree with I've but only for title track but for the whole album including b-sides, le sserafim got it
As someone who has vocal training, I would say objectively the vocal ranking would be:
1. Nmixx (this is obvious)
2. Lesserafim (Yujin is the only vocalist in this group who has developed decent breath control and consistently supports) & Kep1er (Chaehyun is the only redeeming member in this group when it comes to vocals - she can support a decent range consistently)
3. IVE (all vocalists are weak with Liz having some shallow support in a small range, but she is still weak)
As for NewJeans, I haven't analysed their vocals fully so I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure they probably tie with IVE.
Very accurate! 7/7 NMIXX members could pass as main vocalist in most 4 gen groups
New jeans doesnt have much materials yet but as of now it seems that other members can support and as a group they are #2 or #3 here.

nah after watching nmixx's cover of beyonce's move your body im convinced theyre the best performers in the entirety of 4th gen ggs, its been a long time since ive seen a kpop gg perform with such passion and energy on stage, another thing that I think helps a lot in the quality of their performances is the fact that they sing live consistently and appear confident enough to do so even if its not 100% perfect, aside from that i agree with you in all other categories, love your editing

I agree!! i may be biased about le sserafim but how can I not be? They’re so inspiring as idols/individual people. and their personalities and music are so uplifting. i believe each of the groups mentioned deserve the roty bc of their hard work and passion. But if it was based off ranking like this one, le sserafim would definitely take it home.
for vocals, i really think newjeans is my favorite. i only started listening to them, and i already fell in love with their voices. even though they are so young they don’t sound childish. they don’t do these very high pitched voices (which can be good obv i mean i love iz*one), i just love how they’re all singing in their registers. their voices fit the r&b genre so well it’s insane

I would place le seraphim over I've in vocals. I've only have Liz as a decent vocalist, so it's 1/6 members. Le seraphim have Yunjin and Chaewon, so it's 2/5 now. I also think le seraphim strain less and are more stable live.

So happy kep1er ranked high in performances! I saw them at Kcon back to back with Nmixx and their crowd engagement and performance energy was superb. Nmixx was great too but they lacked the confidence, charisma and energy to maintain the crowd's hype. I'm sure Nmixx will get better in time but as of right now Kep1er brings an impressive confidence and energy to their performances and really know how to hype a crowd.

first of all, i really wanna tell you that this video is awesome! apart from your editing i really appreciate the time and nuance you took to delve into each group, which is a breath of fresh air in my opinion. you've definitely got a new sub!
CONCEPT : in my own opinion, newjeans takes the cake for this one in my opinion. their entire brand identity has absolutely blown my mind, and i really like their creative direction, from music videos to album contents. ive is a close second with their chaebol-crush imagery, and how flexible that can be in the long run.
VOCALS : i'm giving this one to nmixx. every member is a good vocalist, especially haewon, lily, sullyoon, and jiwoo. i'm no expert of course, but they have really good control of their voices and what they can do. jinni, kyujin and bae may not stand out for their voices in particular, but i can confidently say that in any other rookie group, they could easily pass for lead vocals. i'm giving le sserafim silver in this category. chaewon and yunjin bring life to their songs with their respective vocal colors. i agree with your comment about garam - i loved her bright tone, and in my opinion, she was the most vocally flexible. apart from that, eunchae and kazuha leave much to be desired in the vocal category. (and rapping, in kazuha's case.)
DANCE : nmixx is first again for me! i'm not a dancer, but if you ask me, each girl is a sound dancer in her own right, and on stage, they seldom falter or make mistakes. watching their stages (especially from kcon) are a whole experience, and i admire the fact that you can see their passion for performance, even through a screen! coming up second is kep1er! they have really fun choreo that not only matches perfectly with their songs, but highlights the talent of their dance line.
MUSIC : le sserafim's discography has impressed me the most so far, even though they've only dropped one project as of now. i like the different genres they've tried out (pop rock in "the great mermaid", progressive house in "the world is my oyster", etc). out of all the groups listed here, i admit that i'm antipating their coming releases the most. second on the podium is newjeans. i ADORE this cute, early 2000's pop soundscape that can be heard in their first ep. each song is suitable for easy, everyday listening, and their tracks suit the members voices. i like the fact that they chose to try a genre that hasn't really been done before in kpop with hypeboy. (jersey club)
PERFORMANCE : again, i'm giving this one to nmixx! their stages are an audiovisual treat, with every member giving it their all while giving us basically studio-level vocals. my favorite performers are jinni, jiwoo, and kyujin! coming in second for me is le sserafim. the entire group exudes confidence whenever they hit the stage, and they really force you to look at them in a way. i do agree that facial expressions could be improved, but apart from that, i'm really satisfied with what they bring to the table.

Well, I watched the video and with that I created my ranking with these 5 groups, and this was the result:
1- Le Sserafim (9.8)(8.5)(9.8)(10)(9.4) = 47.5
2- IVE (8.2)(8.7)(9.0)(10)(8.5) = 44.4/14
2- New Jeans (9.0)(8.0)(8.9)(9.5)(9.0) = 44.4/16
3- Kep1er (6.7)(7.0)(9.8)(9.0)(10) = 42.5
4- NMIXX (4.0)(9.2)(10)(7.0)(9.5) = 39.7

I think everyone seems to forget that nmixx debut in a way wasn't a song but a teaser. They were trying to showcase their singing, dancing and rapping abilities they were also trying to show that they can do multiple genres of music which is why o.o felt chaotic in a way. Even the lyrics says it all

If this were made before 'After Like', I would agree that IVE have more of a solid discography than Lesserafim. BUT, since AL (I feel like it was a small step back for IVE in both the title track and its bside) I feel like Lesserafim has the strongest discography out of the 5 groups.

All NMIXX members are So talented, I really want to stan the group, but those songs...
I'm a believer that quality music should be prioritized when debuting a group, even if you have the most talented idols on your group, if the music is sh*t, I won't stan (I could say the same of GOT)
That's why my favorite 4th Gen group is Stayc, they just do high quality music, and the fact that all member's voices fits and complement so wel together makes me enjoy their music even more
I actually think Gaeul's vocal tone is very mesmerising, so I was kinda surprised you weren't into it. Despite having the least lines, her parts are killing parts.

Lesserafim is Dangerous i'm so happy that all members all good in stage performance like before they debut i am bit scared that Sakura will be only good at Stage presence because that Girl is Born to be the Center of any group.

LE SSERAFIM is really *that* girl group in 2022
nmixx are truly one of the most talented and well rounded groups i've seen in a while; all they need is good music. I love groups who experiment with their soundscape but i think that if you wanna be experimental then you need to make good music since it's arleady hard to digest an experimental concept, add that to a weird song and baam you get a mess. Jyp better let them release a good song this time

Love this video, the editing is great and I can really see the effort put into it!! In my opinion, either ive will take roty because of their memorable title tracks and debut, or it will be newjeans with their unique concept, popular songs, and already booming fanbase. I think le sserafim may possibly be another candidate as i love their music and dance, but their concept compared to the others' may not stand out as much and the whole situation with garam may hold them back.

Tbh i love new jeans and there are some categories that i think new jeans should have placed higher. But i understand that if we're being objective here, there are some groups that are better than them. I'm still thinking about, why kep1ler got me feeling like - there's something wrong, something doesn't match well. Idk maybe it's just how their production team is executing all of their activity. In the show they were like 🤩 ... And in this group they are like meh....
Yeah imo it’s really just cause they have bad management that isn’t properly highlighting their skills. They all can sing well yet none of their title tracks so far have been vocal based and show off their pretty tones, and their dancing is insane (one of the best, arguably even the best in the 4th gen rn) yet their team doesn’t create choreo up to the difficulty level they can execute. Their rap line is great too (idk if you’ve heard dayeons self composed rap for her gp999 audition but it was so good ), yet her and Hikaru haven’t been included in the creative process to write their raps. They’re a group that can do basically any concept but excel the most at girl crush and elegant (like snake/MVSK style suits the group the most imo and let’s every member shine) yet the company has pushed for an energetic /brighter image. I’m hoping for them to pull a 180 for their next cb, their company really needs to step it up
