1080p HD!
On my first ever flight with Jet2, aboard one of the hybrid "Jet2 Holidays" livery 757's, G-LSAC from Chambery in the French Alps back up to Manchester on Saturday 22nd March 2014!
The flight was 2 hours late arriving in from Manchester due to a baggage system failure in Chambery earlier in the morning, which resulted in lots of congestion and high traffic density at the small airport as a result. The weather in Chambery that day, as you can see at the start wasn't great, heavy rain has created very poor visibility and lots of surface water on the runway & taxiways. But by the time we were onboard and ready to go we were lucky enough to depart in a clear patch of blue skies, so some absolutely stunning views of the scenery in the Alps after departure. Unfortunately due to the rain on the window during the take off my camera isn't focused properly, I did try to get it back but it wasn't having it. Having said that, the rain gives a good impression of the power during take off from Chambery's extremely short runway! Very powerful departure and very quick, steep climb out of the mountains! Quite clear skies enroute, until we began our descent over the midlands. Before departure the captain had warned that we would be dodging some stormy weather on our approach and that we certainly did. Some very impressive cloud structures over the Midlands, huge towering clouds which would have been holding a lot of rain, hailstones and potentially some thunder & lightening. In light of this not all clouds could be avoided (obviously) so there's some fantastic cloud skimming shots and great footage of us passing in and out of heavy rain storms. Some of which caused the aircraft a few shakes. Once through the clouds, Manchester airport was fairly clear, just a gusty 20mph SW wind which caused a few wobbles on approach, but the touch down was effortlessly perfect onto RWY23R.

Despite the 2 hour delay, Jet2 aren't too bad, very roomy 757's, quite modern interior, so yeah. I look forward to my next flight on them, whenever that may be. And of course on a 757, you can't go wrong. One of absolute favourite aircraft of all time.

This is one of my favourite videos on TH-cam... I just keep coming back again and again. Just listen to G-LSAC’s RB211s at 12:23!
She is very beautiful 😍😍
@@757Superfan This was back in 2014, when Jet2 still had all of their 737-300s and 757-200s, and when TUI (Thomson) still had a good chunk of their 757-200s and 767-300s! Good times.
@@aviationlba747 Yes i do know! Those were the good days
I was the Captain on this flight, thank you for posting the video it's a great memento for me as I'm retired now and I enjoy watching it now and again.
Enjoy your retirement pal! I’m certainly quite envious as I would’ve loved to have piloted these beauties. Of course Jet2 still operate these for the time being, but I haven’t got my PPL yet, never mind a commercial license.
@@aviationlba747 Keep at it mate, you probably won't get to fly a 757 but there is a whole new generation of lovely airliners to fly so good luck
eeeeeeeee🥞
Yeah, I agree.....you really can't go wrong with a 757! As an added bonus, we got to see some pretty awesome scenery along the way. Great vid!
It's a pure pleasure to read, watch and listen; thank you very much.
That sound though! RB211's are by the best sounding engines. Great vid!
What a nice view paired with an amazing sound on departure! :-)
50:30 b&q with the advertising skills😉
Great video love the 757 one of my favourite aircraft
Again, just like being there. Thanks for this.
wow! that is amazing! thanks for video!
FANTASTIC video > thumbs UP!!!
Great video, it looks fab on my big telly!
Superb video!!
Genialll!!!, el clima es excelente, el aterrizaje un poco fuerte, buen video
Great video, rapid climb out, interesting weather patterns (some nice Cbs) & swift final approach.
I`m glad there are still a few 757s around. Airlines tend to replace them meanwhile through 321s which i think is a pity.
321s are more modern, and I think they are cheaper to run, which means airlines jump to them. It's a shame, since I'd love a chance to fly a 757, those RB211s are fantastic engines.
Great video as always
Nice vid am going with jet2 on the 14th July to Palma :)
This is a awesome Video ! : ) I love the B757 ... especially the -300 ^^ LIKED !
very nice CAMERA..and video tooooo
the 757-200 is my favorite in Boeing's fleet
definitely!
Parking at the stand at that airport is so difficult but interesting great report but in future could you film inside the cabin and show some snacks and the things in
the seat poket thanks!😀🤔
Good vidéo ! thank ...
Isn't there a way to manually adjust the focus on camcorders?
Great video aside from the issues you noted in the description.
...Love to visit England...!!!
Very nice video!
very nice landing
Fantastic video Matt! Was it a ski charter? Really enjoyed it! When's the next flight?
If the rain makes Britain great, Manchester is Greater..... seems its right. Nice flight
Very good vidéos
The usual impeccable excellence; you would have to have 3 cameras from the cockpit to get any better; have you got your civil aviation licence yet?
how do you record inflight?
do you go on the planes for work/business or just to review them or you just go on holiday every week :)
I flew G LSAC from Leeds to Majorca in 2012
AWESOME MANN!!! WELLDONE!!!
MANN? Tf2 reference?
im going with jet2 and they are great
Jet2 within the next year are retrofitting their 757's with new digital displays and fitting winglets to the aircraft in the fleet without that have a long enough life cycle left to pay for the investment, so I wouldn't worry about the 757's staying in the sky's of in England😂😂
you travel a lot :) !!!!!
How to get this job ????
Took him a while to clean up! those Alps might have something to do with it!
Rachael or matt or is that your full name ?
Very late the Flaps and Slats were up!🙂
Read my explanation above
It looked like his approach speed was quite fast, or maybe it's just me.
These 757 are bigger than the airport itself
👍🏼👍🏼
How much do you pay for your tickets?, the amount you fly, must cost you a fortune
Very high altitude airport? Looks like the clouds are on the mountains!
No, not that high really, just a low cloud base.
Okey ✈
Fliu GH KggL
What?
Lol mountains, pmsl.
thats some low level cloud at Chambery
Did you know that plane engines are only held on using 10 bolts and can be over 30 years old
G-LSAC is in fact 29.4 years old
@@hendy9380 30 now lol
Incredible when you think the thing weigh in excess of 6 tons and the force on the pylon when it's powered up
@@hendy9380 G-LSAC is currently 28.9 years old, as of the 24th May 2021. At the time you wrote that comment, she was only around 25 years old.
That looks like an allegiant airlines from the U.S
Jet2.com use Allegiant's livery, but if you have a look on the web, type in Jet2 G-LSAM and study the tail sun design, then type in G-LSAE, and then have a look at the sun on the tail. There different. You'll see the difference.
nice video! I have a video of Chambery's tourist train on my channel if you want to see it!!
There always has to be a crying baby doesn't there -_-
Now i know that what i do everiday in 1 hour, a Boeing do that in 3 minutes ...
that is an allegiant air livery....
Yes it's an "off the shelf " livery used by Allegiant Jet2 and others
@@spencersmith3983 Others? To my knowledge, only Allegiant and Jet2 have used it.
