Rogue Valley Flyers Runway Project 2024

Our own Pilot William captured the action as the Rogue Valley Flyers club tackled a complete Runway Surface Improvement that transformed our rugged decomposed granite runway into 500' of smooth road cover fabric goodness!!! So far, so good! We've had some very gusty afternoons and its holding well! The perimeter is stapled down about every 12" all the way around, so there's nowhere for the wind to get under it. What happens after the ground freezes hard then thaws, well, we'll see! Probably will push the staples up a bit, so hopefully hammering them back down will suffice. One thing's certain.... its a hundred times better to fly off of than the old DG surface was!
