Dabo and Clemson may have fallen off a little bit in recent years but overall he has the best legacy out of all the current active cfb coaches. He went to 4 out of 5 Natties and wouldve been 5 out of 5 if not for running into Bama in 2017. He won 2 of those Natties against strong healthy Bama teams and lost the other 2 against a strong Bama team and that legendary LSU team. Im a Bama fan saying this too. Josh makes a good point too. He did it his own way. He didnt have to steal Sabans blueprint like a certain other coach.

I've watched Clemson football since like 2006 when I was ten years old and at the games sitting in the bleachers playing my Gameboy Advance, but yeah Dabo is 1000% the best active coach right now in terms of accomplishment at the program he's at. Nobody but Dabo could have turned Clemson into what it is. That being said, his transfer portal and NIL position is actively handicapping his team, his program, and is hurting his legacy at least a little bit.
Who's the copycat you are referring to BTW? Kirby Smart? Oof. I tend to agree.

    • @AK-sq1jl
      @AK-sq1jl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@Black_Caucus Idk if that "hurts" his legacy though because I think that part of his legacy is cemented and can't be taken away from him but what it does is it doesn't allow him to build upon his legacy and add to it and become even greater if that makes sense. Like as a Bama fan I'm always going to remember Dabo as someone who was at least at one point a damn good coach and at near the pinnacle of the sport going toe to toe with us but maybe just couldn't adapt as the game changed or refused to adapt.

The current NIL model will not be reigned in… Collectives are here to stay, and the NCAA already announced that athletes cannot have their access limited to the transfer portal (due to the high courts rulings that it is unlawful to hinder an athlete’s right to change schools because it impedes their ability to increase their NIL value).

College football is better when Clemson runs the ACC. As a fan of a non-ACC team, Miami and FSU are known for notoriously bad fanbases. Clemson’s fanbase is very classy and rarely throws shade. I guess to me. It depends on what you mean by tarnished. I think everyone will think of dabo as a great coach. But there was a time when he was seen as potentially the replacement of Saban. Hearing that you were playing Clemson brought A LOT of fear. He was sky high. Now he has come down to earth. So I think in that since it was tarnished. He was seen as being nearly on par with the goat. Just needs more years under his belt and he will be on the same level. But now that the rules have changed (and maybe even a little before) he has fallen to one of the best. Still a great title. But also still tarnished. So I just think it depends on what you think of as tarnished. To me scandals more are a destroyer. That thing is rusted and unusable. Tarnish just means with a little work it could be again what it once was. So I would say yes. It is tarnished. Still a great product.... but not as pretty as what it once was.

27:54 Verified by Vegas or not, the idea of Iowa coming into the Big 12 and winning the conference this year is honestly funny (and highly unlikely). Last year, they lost to Penn State, Tennessee, and Michigan 31-0, 26-0, and 35-0 respectively. They lost their last two games by a combined 61-0. If Iowa beat a below average Iowa State team by 1 touchdown last year, they probably aren't beating Kansas State (or a bunch of other better teams).
The top of the Big 10 (Ohio St, Penn St, Oregon, USC, Michigan) is undoubtedly miles better than the top of the Big 12, but let's not pretend that the Big 10's middle of the pack is that much better than the Big 12's middle of the pack. The gap isn't that large.

What in the actual, you know the word, does Kentucky have in the same arena as the hyped and mostly overhyped Clemson team needed OT to beat a Kentucky team, who their rival Carolina, which I am a fan of,didn't need. Carolina beat Kentucky, and Clemson struggled with 2 of the good running backs in the country. Kentucky dominated 3 quarters of game time. Most of the Dabos losses happened earlier in his career when he was building, but a lot of those same losses have happened recently. Clemson hasn't had a 1000-yard receiver in 4 years and has 0 returning production or recruited players that can fill those shoes. It's just a brand getting plugged, and yet Miami and Florida State are growing outside their spectrum, and Dabo remains silent, stands on pride, and looks exactly like the 8-4 ,7-5 team they are. So yes, his legacy is tarnished if this continues. Why? The transfer portal didn't exist when he won a few games. Now it does, and his rivals and competitors are using it, and he refuses to use it. Dabos legacy hinges on 2 generational qbs, they'll never recruit in their existence and 4 wide receivers, that's it. Defensively, nobody has really matured at the next level and only been media hyped because of the brand. It makes 0 sense to hype Clemson, and yes, if this continues,Dabo and his legacy are in the toilet

Death Valley is in California. But you tell yourself whatever you like. LSU at Tiger Stadium has a record of 439-154-18. Clemson at Memorial Stadium has a record of 340-104-7. Clemson has a 76% winning percentage at home in 444 games (not including the ties). LSU has a 74% winning percentage at home in 593 games (also not including ties). Numbers wise, you might be happy to claim a higher winning percentage. Until you think about who plays in the tougher conference, and that there's a 149-game difference... but that can be viewed by many as excuses. How about when you search the best home stadiums or the best home atmosphere... LSU & Penn St typically battle it out for the number 1 spot. So until Clemson can battle for the best or a better home atmosphere than LSU... LSU wins out (but then again, I'm absolutely 100% biased).

@BrockM368 I'm sure you thought that was a clever retort. Until you think about how Memorial Stadium was built in 1942, 10 years after 13 schools left the Southern Conference to create the SEC. So those same opponents aren't baked into Clemson's numbers. And speaking about what a degree from LSU is worth, it's a lot more than Clemson... how many people have Clemson made a "household names"? Compared to LSU... don't worry, take your time. LSU's Tiger Stadium was originally called Deaf Valley (personally, I thought that was a better and more suitable name... but who am I?). Your only argument is... you stole or honored (I don't know how you'll spin it) first. Well, we did it better. And talking about fans not being able to come up with an original name... do you know how Clemson got death valley??? Spoiler alert, Clemson didn't name it themselves. whereas the LSU FANS stole death valley after winning the heisman and BEATING Clemson to claim our first national title in the Sugar Bowl in 1959! Come on man... that's objectivity HILARIOUS and PETTY! It's what makes LSU GREAT, and college football GREAT! Who has a better story than that???

My LSU Tigers just won a chip in gymnastics, I'm happy for them, but that's not what I follow. Even though the SEC is GOOD in women's gymnastics, winning 17 titles since 2000 if you include Oklahoma. I'm sure that matters to some. But there's no metric that measures success that has the B1G being better than the SEC in the big 3. You're right. GT defeating FSU would not be bold. It would be LUDICROUS!
Once again, you NEVER, EVER talk about the players that Norvell added to his team for the current season! 2024. All you ever talk about is FSU's lack of returning production and NOT who Norvell got to replace them. OTOH, you talk about Miami as if they assembled the greatest portal team in history.
Did you know that Norvell called his 2024 team the "strogest and fastest team he's ever had?"
You would if you did a little research. The only thing you told your viewers about FSU's team this year is what DJU did BEFORE he came to FSU. DJU is in the BEST situation he's ever had. He'll have two of the best QB coaches in CFB fitting the offense to his skill set. Look how they developed Jordan Travis from a QB who couldn't hit a barn with a football into a QB with the highest PFF rating in 2022.
DJU bwill have more talented weapons at his disposal than he ever had at Clemson or Oregon State.
The group of running backs this season are the best we've had since the days of Devonta Freeman, James Wilder Jr and Karlos Williams in 2013. The WR's are all track guys who can now stretch the field with a QB who can throw 70-yard dimes all game long.
I predict that DJU will have the best season he's ever had as a P5 QB in completion percentage, total yards, yards per attempt, # of 20+ yard completions, # of passing TD's and # of rushing TD's.
How about doing a REAL REVIEW of FSU's 2024 team instead of these half-hearted attempts?
