In fairness, I've never seen many Cup Guys come from that far back. Dillion is not near the front very often. Those starts are tricky. He messed that up and crashing was an amateur move move like what we see in the Truck series. Sad as it negated a great race for RCR. Even with the win, think Dillon is still is like mid-20's in points. The hook 'em right rear is very dangerous and all at Front pack. That could have been way worse. There is a Danger in getting too WWE that NASCAR can lose the reputation they have Earned of being some of the finest Drivers in the World.

Watched the in-car replay with audio, The spotter informs him that someone is inside and to wreck him too, the throttle response indicates Austin listened to his spotter, step by step.
No it doesnt the throttle response was him trying to get to the line first. Dillon was driving the middle lane on the front stretch all night. he came down enough to get around around logano after dumping him (yes he obviously dumped logano) and from there denny came up for an early block and spun himself. If denny had stayed low he wouldve won

In the end it won't matter because Dillon won't make it past the first cut ..... A 32nd place driver doesn't magically become a top 10 driver after winning a single race, especially winning the way he did. I doubt we'll see any retaliation from Logano or Hamlin because they are consistantly in the top 10 and Dillon is consistently sub-20th and likely will never be close enough
When you put two of the best guys on restarts against somebody who is one of the worst, this is the result. Truex didn’t clean anybody out in spring, he voiced his displeasure post race and life went on. He got beat on restart plain and simple with hard racing. But, that’s a winning veteran for you. Not a desperado who hasn’t led a lap all season til late in this race.
I honestly don’t know why Austin didn’t take the top on the restart…that seems to always be the preferred lane, they always say they get a better launch up there. Maybe he was afraid if he didn’t get clear the 22 would just take him in real high and push him out of the groove? But yeah, I don’t wanna see guys cleaning each other out for the win. Being aggressive and using the bumper is one thing. Flat out wrecking two cars intentionally is not cool. I’ve always thought Austin Dillon was a punk, and that move just strengthens that opinion.
Exactly if he took the top on that last restart he would have cleared 22 like the 22 did him, he'd have been good and nobody would have gotten wrecked cuz he had drove away from everybody.

Even though disadvantageous, Austin didn't take the top because of Joey's reputation as an aggressive driver and knew when push came to shove, Joey would run him to the wall if he was on the outside. Not saying that makes what Austin did legit but let's not act like this doesn't happen regularly. I say let the drivers deal with it as they did with Chastain.

Agree with you 100% - you just cannot drive through another racer to win. Hamlin? Not sure about that part of the incident as Dillon at 100mph is traveling 146 feet per second and while reflexes of a race car driver at full adrenaline boost is high but there are car limits as well. Listened to Larry Mac yesterday on Sirius and couldn't believe his waffling comments that RCR really deserved this win and Dillon did what he had to do (kinda paraphrased) Great comments, Biff. Wish you were still in Cup as you were one of my favorites.
I watched the end of the race and yeah, everything you said was true. He had the field covered no doubt, that’s what it was. However, four lengths back just driving straight through when you can’t catch the guy is a bs move,and literally as you said, drove through it and then hooked Hamlin at the end, that kind of a driver, if he wasn’t Richard Childers‘s grandson, do you think he’s gonna get away with this ?…I don’t know ,it’s nice that they gave back second to Denny, but they need to pull the victory, dock the owner points and fine him. I don’t know if I go as far as making him sit out of the next Race, but if NASCAR doesn’t do something substantial about this, they’ve lost what respect as the sanctioning body that was left.
There is a great front shot of after the 22 spins, showing the 11 come up the track right into the 3. The 3 never moved from the dotted line mid corner. 11 took himself out.

No controversy. Lagano lagged back on the restart (against the rules), so Dillon made sure he still won the race. BTW, never saw a rule saying how far back you come from to do a "bump and run".

Disagree. Dillion did not come from 4 car lengths back just because Gooey says he was. The 3 was right behind the 22 for at least a few seconds before he ran him over. A car coming from 4 lengths back is not going to magically make the corner just because it careens off a bumper ahead. If anything, it would make it even harder to make the turn at that point. Now if Dillon came sailing in UNDER the 22 and used him up like a guard rail, NOW you have an argument.
A mediocre driver in a mediocre car has a once in a season race. And acted like the spoiled brat he is perceived as. Sad that he will displace a competitive driver in the chase. Looking forward to see how creative Denny and Joey are at getting even.😁

He had no chance of making that corner unless he hit the 22. At least Earnhart felt bad when he took Labonte out at Bristol. Rattled his cage a bit too much.😆

I’ve been in the same situation he was at the local level. Obviously the stakes weren’t even close, but still. I didn’t do what he did and I’d never seriously consider doing it, no matter the stakes.
Nudge him or plow through is the same. At my local track we don’t wreck anyone for a win. We aren’t animals. Pass properly or learn to pass properly. Rubbin ain’t racing. Rubbin is nascar. Kids in karts aren’t taught to wreck someone unless their parents are assholes.

It easily can be said that The 22 and 11 100% had a role in the way drivers drive today Oddly enough it’s seems that the 8 is the gentleman driver (with the exception of wrecking the 47 - but really how many wrecks has the 47 caused in his career) I hope the 8 gets a little more aggressive I would hate to see his years winning record fall this year

Same here. Biff was my favorite driver of all time. I have not watched Nascar since 2016.
It easily can be said that The 22 and 11 100% had a role in the way drivers drive today
Oddly enough it’s seems that the 8 is the gentleman driver (with the exception of wrecking the 47 - but really how many wrecks has the 47 caused in his career) I hope the 8 gets a little more aggressive I would hate to see his years winning record fall this year
