Took the ferry to work most days and remember, going back, buying a can of beer and standing on the rear deck of MV Bute, Argyle or Coruisk and watching the mainland disappear. Remember the view from the top of Canada Hill on a clear, sunny Sunday afternoon. If this doesn't sound too strange, visit the gents public toilets at Wemyss Bay station, straight out of Victorian times. Good pub as well ! Sometimes delayed ferries could be a blessing. 😀
