What about when Shepherd ordered the navy to bomb the gulag where Roach and Soap were rescuing Price in while they were still inside? Doesn't that count too?
If I remember correctly, Shepherd didn't give the order to bomb the Gulag. It was the Navy just starting early and Shepherd was trying to buy them time. Shepherd needed TF141 alive for his plans.
Shepherd specifically says the Navy "isn't in a listening mood." Infinity Ward has at best a foggy understanding of how chains of command work (which is why Shepherd was in charge of Marines despite being Army), but I guess even they understands Army Generals don't get put in command of Naval warships. Shepherd likely made a recommendation the Navy cool it, and the Navy politely recommended that he fuck off.
Thinking about it, I wonder if Viktors death because of Shepard is the reason why Makarov is so willing to give out information to Price in “Enemy of my Enemy”
I feel like Viktor being killed started the rift between the two, but when Shepherd betrayed TF141, he also betrayed Makarov. Once Him and Shadow Company killed Makarov and his mercenaries and 141, he would return to the United States to push Russia out of the U.S. and lead the charge to take back Europe.
I don't think Viktor's death had much to do with Makarov willingly giving intel to Price. Viktor was just another pawn for Shepherd but Makarov was the biggest pawn of them all. Makarov knew that TF141 was betrayed by Shepherd in Afghanistan and he had to do something to get rid of Shepherd and his men since they were a more immediate threat than the last of TF141. Hence Makarov shared his intel to buy himself time to plot his moves taking place in MW3.
This was apart of it, absolutely. This and the fact that he tried to kill Makarovs private army and the 141 at the same time in the boneyard. The situation was too hot for Makarov to deal with, so he saw an opportunity with Price and bet on him.

To throw a wrench into the theory, US comms aren't as secure as they can be, and Makarovs guys are pretty damn good at their job. They could have hacked comms to figure out what the US forces were planning and overheard the challenge and countersign. Regular Russian forces were already in the house, it makes sense that special forces would be as well for an HVT. My theory on why this could be, is because there is fresh blood on the ground, and IIRC when you shoot any of the body's they still spray blood as though they were recently deceased.
Shepherd betrays his men a 4th time later on in the game. In "Just Like Old Times" Price and Soap fight their way through the bunker and make it outside of the room rigged with explosives. Shepherd notices that his booby trap failed to yield the results he intended, in light of this he orders what seems to be a nearby artillery unit to hit the area he believes Price and Soap to be. When the barrage comes down, it blows up an encampment area where a substantial amount of Shadow Company operators are set up. Price and Soap are untouched by the strike, but most of the Shadow guys in the area are killed or wounded. If we were to count every event like this you could list almost every mission in MW2 as a betrayal by Shepherd, so make of it what you will.
Shadow Company:Isnt that danger close for the task force? Shepherd:That is not a suggestion. Send it! Price:Since when does Shepherd care about danger close?
Maybe both Viktor and that Russian Solider you find at the fridge downstairs was leading a attack on the house. So im guessing Shepherd told Viktor about the H.V.I and where he was to take him out and when both Viktor and a random Russian Solider went upstairs the H.V.I saw them and shot Viktor killing him but the other Solider shot and killed the H.V.I
You know what's an interesting detail; As you approach the HVI's house you see two American aircraft take off from the hill behind the house and fly off. Those aircraft couldn't have landed there while the Russian AA gun was set up, so maybe Makarov's men and/or Shadow Company landed there to kill the HVI, saw that the Russian army had set up an AA position nearby, and asked Shephard to have the Rangers clear out the AA position so they could get away. The intro cutscene for this mission uses the Shadow Company theme and it's the only mission to do so where they don't appear.
There is 4 betrayals, 4th being the one when Cpt. Price and others went to the gulag and Shepard told aircraft to attack even though they got most of the Ultranacionalists.

Shepherd betrayal just didn’t hit as hard in reboot MW22, I think part of the reason is because I know what’s gonna happen cuz of og, but at the same time it wasn’t actually shepherd who did the betrayal but ordered graves to betray tf141, they made shepherd less badass in the reboot
Yeah it's mostly because shepherd is less badass and isn't always with you in missions. His reasoning also kinda falls flat and the guys making the story are too scared to kill off the characters
Damn, I haven't played Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 before and especially when I was young back then when I don't know how to play video games, but this game has interesting details that it'll make me wanna buy the game and then enjoy it.

Old School Shepard had reasons to turn against his own government because the Government turned on him first just for Shepard to lose all his men was sad. I don't blame him for his actions, but new Shepard made no sense and his characters development was all over the place. The only thing I won't forgive Old School Shepard for killing Roach and Ghost hit me hard.
For Pvt. Allen he didnt get betrayed by Shepherd. He actually got accidentally exposed by Yuri (from a flashback in OG MW3 Story). Bc Yuri didnt like what Makorov was doing during the events of MW2 so he tried contacting the US but got figured out by Makorov. And since he found out Pvt. Allen is an American and undercover he played along with it until the end of the mission, killing Allen. Making his plan easier to start a war and also cucking Shepherd. Bc Shepherd is trying to make himself look like a hero. While Makorov is trying to make Modern Russia revert it back into Soviet Russia Influence. So it wouldnt make sense why they would work together?
Allen wasn’t exposed by Yuri so much as by himself talking about an American only food chain. That’s what really screwed the world over. But if you also think about it, Makarov invited Allen into his inner circle pretty easily before then. It wasn’t like he had months of contact beforehand if I’m not mistaken. That’s what gives credibility to makarov and price working together
I thought the main reason why they knew the coded message is that because of the ACS module held by the Russians. But this makes sense when it was mentioned that SOSUS and Pave Paws was disabled so there's no way they could breach the intelligence. So there must be someone that told them that
That’s the remake. In the original it’s not Viktor at the panic room door, it’s the CIA double agent you play as in No Russian. Either way, it’s designed to look like a set up.
1:47 Nice detail animation thet added in the remaster. Also, it'is nice to see videos talking about campaign theories for COD stories especially old ones. It's rare to see this as many cares for online at this point and have no interest in COD's core. For me, I only care for these campaigns ever since 2008, everything else is exrta, Keep it up!
I'll never get over how Shepherd recruits some 22 year old and only a couple days later knowingly sends him to die as a terrorist in another country alongside it's PE#1. Something about that set of facts just churns my stomach
Another fun fact, Sgt. Foley is voiced by Keith David, who appears in the new MW3 as the voice of Spawn. You may also know him as the president in Rick and Morty and various other characters on many shows.
I’ve played this campaign so many times. nothing ever felt right about how this mission ended. I know so much about the lore but never knew about this.
Glenn Morshower is hella popular. He’s Gen. Morshower in Transformers, the voice actor for overlord in of mw2, and voice actor of Gen shepherd in mw3 2023.
The cut shadow man ending in MW3 actually makes sense now that I watch your vid, Makarov, Shepherd, maybe even 141 were unknowingly being pawns to the same group. Since Makarov killed 30000 of Shepherd's men in MW1, it wouldn't make a lot of sense the two of them working together, at least knowingly. So it could be possible that the shadow man/group leaked the pass phrase to the Inner Circle. Makarov was their catalyst in starting WW3, and Shepherd was ordered 141 to take care of Makarov (maybe under the guise of letting Shepherd to get his revenge, whatever). Makarov, not knowing he has been marked for death by the group, continue to do dirty work for the group. When 141 assaults Makarov's safe houses, the group ordered Shepherd backstab 141 because there maybe intel that connects Shepherd & the group involvement in the No Russian operation. Looking at the cut MW3 ending, it appears that things ended largely in the group favor, with Shepherd and Makarov dead, 141 wiped out, and they achieved their goal.
Makarov betrayed Sheperd to Price in the end. In ‘The Enemy of my Enemy’ dialogue. Sheperd tried to kill the 141 and Makarovs private army in the boneyard, along with being responsible for getting Victor killed.
there is another betrayal. Shepherd also betrayed everyone in CoD. 4 because he was actively funding the Russian ultranationalist group, the same group that ended up killing Gaz and Griggs.
I love stories like Modern Warfare that are chalked full of small easily to miss details. I think that’s why the 360 COD games were so good, they were always deeper than what it appeared on face value, which is why Modern COD sucks it has ZERO DEPTH.
I actually had been stumped on the details behind this part of the story, because it wasn't really picked up before nor after the mission. I didn't look into any lore or info about this pert of the mission myself, but I always tried to piece it together whenever I played. I was confused as to how they managed to execute the HVI without leaving signs of forced entry. It didn't occur to me that Makarov's operatives might have known the Challenge phrase as well. This makes a lot of sense now. I would still like to know what exactly the HVI was carrying.
Not knowing shepherd betray himself by trusting with makarov, he didn’t know that Makarov was the one who killed his 15 thousand men in his blink of his eye using with nuke.

AlphaCOD Can you make a video that( why did makarov killed soap) MW lll plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Most importantly Shepherd betrayed all our trusts
The voice of overlord is the new shepherd
This is actually a crazy video! I never, not even ever thought about this or even noticed that was Viktor. But it all makes sense! Great video!
i never could piece this together but this lowk makes a lot of sense
Glenn Morshower is hella popular. He’s Gen. Morshower in Transformers, the voice actor for overlord in of mw2, and voice actor of Gen shepherd in mw3 2023.
I knew this except, time passed and I played alot more other games lol that's why this mission is here
He also called an airstrike on his own men when price and soap r chasing him on the last mission
bro i feel bad that enemy was getting food until he died by Ramirez
Shepherd also betrays 141 in Takedown, he doesn't listen to Ghost's call for evac in the ending of the mission
This was always mysterious to me.
bro is literally agent smecker 💀
I never really thought of it, but it all makes sense.
Makarov betrayed Sheperd to Price in the end. In ‘The Enemy of my Enemy’ dialogue. Sheperd tried to kill the 141 and Makarovs private army in the boneyard, along with being responsible for getting Victor killed.
Oh my God I never realized it after all these years
the same guy who voices Overlord also plays Shepherd in the new MW
how Shepherd betrayed allen
Check out this video ❤

@@alphacodyt ah remember it
@@alphacodyt thanks
Just sign up for a detective career already. Crazy good job
Thank You!
there is another betrayal. Shepherd also betrayed everyone in CoD. 4 because he was actively funding the Russian ultranationalist group, the same group that ended up killing Gaz and Griggs.
Is there proof of that? Because this is the first I’ve heard of that.
2:01 POV your mom catches you at 11:00 trying to eat something
I believed these are all subtle clues that something is not right within us, a possible mole or a traitor
I love stories like Modern Warfare that are chalked full of small easily to miss details. I think that’s why the 360 COD games were so good, they were always deeper than what it appeared on face value, which is why Modern COD sucks it has ZERO DEPTH.
shepherd is covering his tracks
No loose ends
I've been playing CoD for six years. THINGS STILL COME UP THAT I DON'T REALIZE AND IT BOTHERS ME. Thank you for listening. 😃
We've all been there! Just keep grinding and having fun with the game!
@@alphacodyt :)
Choseing to make this video with the Remaster is a crime against humanity
I always wondered if the suitcase contains any valuable info that may contain shepherds collaborations with Makarov
My theory always was the line wasn’t secure and shepherd KNEW it wasn’t.
There was also the fact he tried to kill off TF 141 with air strikes in the Gulag.
I guess we need a MW4
What is challenge and counterside? Icepick and Phoenix?
Those words are used to recognize friendlies
@@alphacodyt Why are there two different words then? What’s the difference
I think, for example, when I say icepick to you, you say phoenix in response, this way we realize that we are friendly.
@@alphacodyt Ah thank you
Was that guy seriously looking for a drink in the middle of a war?
Is that a fact? I don't know. It that cool and add more to the story? Yes.
Now this is a great catch
But Russians copied that smart device from "Cliffhanger", they could just hear negotietions to get know password.
Then there are 4 betrayals - one more is in CoD Mobile comics.
Shepherd also betrayed shadow company by bombing them at the end of the game to escape
Watch the next video to find out why!
First betrayal:private Allen dies
Second betrayal:ghost and roach dies
Third betrayal:H.V.I dies
Not knowing shepherd betray himself by trusting with makarov, he didn’t know that Makarov was the one who killed his 15 thousand men in his blink of his eye using with nuke.
Allen was Shepherd's first pawn and it kicked off the whole game 🎮.
He also betayed his soldiers on that last mission with his danger close order.
ive noticed it was fishy but honestly i didn't realise it was to escalate the war
