😅 I am afraid it was not meant to be affordable. This phone is for the highend market, just like the Hermes of handbag, Porsche for sports car or Rolex for watches. A flagship statement for Huawei.
Quite an awesome little phone there. Only thing I think it's missing is a stylus. If it had one, this could potentially be the Samsung Note Killer. Awesome review as well. Keep it up.
Unless they can figure out a way to protect the soft screen from being damaged by stylus.
@@ZeroNap The screen is supposed to be made of some super durable material (especially due to the folding nature of the phone). The stylus can also use a soft felt like surface instead of the hard, traditional materials used for the points.

Huawei phones CAN use Andriod and u can still got most of the apps on Huawei' s own app store! They were not allowed to us google GHS services. Now they have HMS, not as good as GMS or Apple store till now, but worth to expect.

How durable is the screen? Since the screen is facing outward both front and back, I guess the scratch resistance is really the key factor when evaluating this phone.

I've always find Samsung fold to be a very lazy design. This what a foldable phone should be. No double screens, one set of cameras, no space in between and works like a normal phone when folded. Absolutely clever design.
The Huawei mate xs is awesome. I will buy one.

Not sure where you got the information about it having less Parts in the hinge because that is absolutely incorrect In fact the during the event when they were speaking about the phone they had noted that there is one hundred different pieces and not hinge which is more than what the last one had the biggest worry about that is more mechanical moving Parts usually means a higher chance of it breaking but they stated that there is exactly one hundred different moving and mechanical Parts in there to make that hinge

@@Dare2Blink Harmony OS is ready now. It is used in various Huawei devices such as smart TV, Wireless router, smart watch, in-car entertainment, and other wearable devices. Harmony OS is ready for cellphone, but they will keep using Android as long as they can.
Pretty much all google apps can be downloaded through apk . Don't see any problem.
You can put two screen protectors on it,
on both sides of the screen that stay still,
the moving part will still be exposed tho. 🤔

To me, having a soft scratchable screen on the outside is a design flaw.
In fact it is a far superior design and will eventually be what all OEMs use. The advantage is you have not got the ugly cheap looking gap of the Galaxy Fold and you do not need to have a separate front screen so will be cheaper in the long run, same with cameras, you do not have to have duplicate cameras like the Fold which is a lazy ill-designed idea. By continuing with this format, in-time the durability will improve. It is similar to the Lenovo Thinkpad X that can even use a pen now, so I suspect it will be far superior to the Fold. Also, it comes with a protective case. Samsung will eventually switch to this format as it is easily the most clever and contemporary design.

I think Huawei did it this way because they know it's a lot harder to do it right (= screen on the inside)

Can't find vance in the app gallery
Try on Aptoide or the official Vance website
Also install microG for Vanced to have Play Store login possibility. MicroG is a free alternative to Play Services. This also makes it possible to install the official Google Maps apps. Though no login possible with it.

Are you joking, the best foldable phone in 2020..??? Its crazy to own a foldable device with its screens facing outwards. I will never own it. The Galaxy Fold is still superior and its most preferred as it’s folding just like a book.
