    I have a similar construction in my antenna, this way of handling it is very useful. 73

      Yes, and we learn that when we do that 😉. Thanks for your feedback, 73.

    I think I'll try to make the tape measure 3 element yagi antenna. Thanks for the link. I do like how you've mounted the arrow antenna to yer tripod. I guess I could use my camera tripod for installing an antenna; just would have to return it to the camera 'cause I'm an avid photographer and I need the tripod to hold my 1000mm lens for photographing planets and the moon. And I just had to subscribe to yer channel. You've got some very good videos on satellites for when I get my Technician license in a couple of months.

      Thanks. Yes, you can use any camera tripod and if you want to keep your tripod for your camera you can find a simple tripod online, new or 2nd hand for few dollars. The one for satellite antenna can be a light one. Good luck! 73

    Great video! How did you attach the additional piece of aluminum to the antenna? Do you know what were the dimensions of the piece you attached?

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Attaching the Aluminum piece is very easy. Underneath the black sponge handle that comes with the Arrow, there is a hidden hole that fits exactly to the screw that comes with most of the camera tripods. So all fit without even to drill anything. As simple as that! The Aluminum piece is the standard piece that you will find in any store for few dollars. It comes in a standard length so you just need to cut it to the length you want. You will need to drill a single hole in the aluminum piece and you will locate the Aluminum in between the Arrow boom and the tripod. It will stay in between and it works great. 73.

    Can you tell me the model/type of tripod you are using?

      I have few tripods that I'm using for different use cases. In this case, it's a super simple and standard camera tripod. You just need a tripod that can move in 3 axis. Today, most of the tripods have this capability, and they are very cheap.

    Does it matter if the elements get bent slightly ?

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really hard to answer that without see it, but as a high level answer, yes, if the elements are a not straight as they should be, it can affect the SWR and and radiation pattern, so it will be less effective.
      But if it's slightly bent, it could be that it's not a big issue. If you have an SWR meter, you can check and get some idea what's going on. I hope it helps. 73.

      @@reHamRadio Kindly, to answer your question, the video contains a lot of Haaaa Haaaa Haaaa.. (hesitation to translate to english, I believe) I have faced the same situation in my videos creation, I have found that doing an audio overlay (reading a prepared text) avoids all those Haaaa... moments. Although I do appreciate the efforts, some viewers may not like those repeated Haaaa... moments throughout the video. I believe this is what was felt by the commenter. Thanks.
