Love watching your videos for form cues and different ideas for moves tonal doesn't have in their programming! I moved away from doing back squats on tonal (I was facing it) because of the same reasons you mentioned (felt claustrophobic, not natural). I don't know why I didn't think to just turn around!
Thank you for this. Can you talk a little about using a back squat vs front squat in programming? Is it that each work different muscles and you should program in both or is one more beneficial than the other?
GREAT topic idea! Adding it to the list! But short answer now is that the front squat is more quad dominant. Since you have to load it in the front of your body, your upper and core will be limiting factors when it comes to weight, because of this it tends to be about 85% of your Back Squat weight. This is normal for the back squat to feel stronger - because it is!
Thank you for this video! My BB squats are loaded way too heavy. Reducing the weight, improving ankle mobility and a lot of quad accessory movements are in order for me. I really find it difficult to keep my core/glutes tight as I move through the exercise.
Hi Lynn! Glad to hear this video helped you better understand adjustments you might need to make to your squats! Never hesitate to reach out with questions!
Good video keep them coming.
@@Darthvad3r619 sure will!! Glad you found it helpful!
Very thorough and very helpful. I've done front squats on Tonal for so long, it is nice to see some coaching on proper form for back squats.
so glad you find it informative! Back squats are a great option!
