I am one of your fans and a resident of Iran. My friend, it's been 10 months since you uploaded a file. I miss watching your vlogs.. Please come back as strong as before. We are waiting for you.
I could say a lot of things but mostly want to say how insanely cool it is that you made all those the manual way. Machining is like sculpture in a lot of ways, but you just took it to another level! Cool stuff as always, man!
Brother! A lot of people including myself miss you and your videos! =) Hope to that all is well and that you'll be back again to create your awesome content!
*_I have drawn plans and the plans didn't work. When I do it in my head I almost never mess up. Almost. Nothing wrong with working things out in your head. You do incredible work and have achieved amazing things most people here in the states aren't able to with expensive machines._*
Wonderful! I was wondering if you had planned for an O-ring when you machined the threads on the brake-fluid reservoir and was happy to see that you made the O-ring groove at the end of the vid. As someone mentioned below, CLC ("Ca Lem Controlled" machining) is way more fun to watch than CNC. 😀
Was a pleasure to watch you create this high quality piece! Love seeing your mistakes and how you change your approach for a better part next time. Pure art.
I am just in the middle of the video but I have to leave a comment now: You are the most creative and skilled machinist I have ever seen. Those parts are extremely complex and you make them MANUALLY! If there was a Nobel prize in machining you would definitely win every year! Your videos never stops to amaze me. I love your humor as well and I both learn and laugh when I see you work! Love and respect from Sweden! ❤😊
You are tough! And you are very good! I would have broken all the 0.5mm drills and then probably given up. The manual sculpting from the block is just blowing my mind! Ride safe!
Decent of you to say that you 'hope we learn something too'. I can tell you exactly what I learned...I can't pretend to even think about doing half the stuff you do. You're brilliant...
Excellant art and beautiful photography. Thank you for the video. You must be preparing for an excursion and I hope you take us followers along. Cheers.
I could not stop watching, so good! I love that you make the effort to turn a boring commodity item into something bespoke and worth celebrating. Thank you!
Cà Lem the type of guy to build a space ship on a Bridgeport and make it look easy! Every time I watch him he makes my skill set look like child’s play.
It's the passion for tradesman craft like this that is hard to come by these days. We need to teach our young ones so they can also enjoy and respect the trade. Awesome job man
A younger me would have thought you were mad for putting that much effort into machining something that's pretty much universally available everywhere....... Older me thinks younger me was an ignorant tit. :D Beautiful work (As always) Cà Lem.
The chief issue, at least in my case (and possibly his) is simply being *able* to secure the store-bought item - either because it costs too much for *your* budget - or, the thing simply is *not readily available in YOUR location,* e.g. you need right and left four-pot disk brake bike calipers - and you simply have no clue as to where to secure them! Oh, and sealed bearing single-sided hubs, too. I don’t have *near* the tools he has, though - even if I do have a lathe and mill at home.
If at this point in time you haven't been contacted by a number of companies via their machining/engineering/designing departments then something is wrong. Someone, somewhere is missing out-your design insights and machining skills together don't get much better. *Nicely done* Cà Lem. God bless.
I came to the comments to say exactly this. Somewhere, there is a large corporation looking for this guy to build prototypes. His skill deserves big money to go with it.
. . . and i said to myself "i hope he knows he didn't make two brake handles" . . .i was pretty sure you were just funning with us . . . unless he drives an automatic, or has two bikes! as we have come to expect, the work is beautiful and functional . . . not a work of art but better . . . a work of craft! thank you for letting us watch.
you have come so far- most people, including myself woud just have taken a ride to the nearest bike-store and bought a new set - very impressive work,my friend
It's pleasure to watch, as always. I would like to suggest something - most of factory clutch and brake levers have pre-cuts in about 2/3 of it's length so when your motorcycle falls, only the end of the lever is broken so it won't damage master cylinder itself and the motorcycle is operational with 2/3 of the lever present.

I know that but the end of my lever is thin enough to break or bend in that case
Very impressive! The brake levers remind me of a video by Paul Brodie. He too made a set of brake levers on a manual lathe. It's reassuring to see all the failures. I'll have to keep that in mind when I start doing more metal working.
You do amazing work and your videos are great. If you're still around, you should do a simple video update. Nothing fancy or about anything. Can always delete it anytime if you decide to continue making videos.
Everyone I talk to about machining I have to throw out your name. Probably the best machining I've ever seen. Please keep the content coming. I Always look forward to seeing you doing something so awesome. Thank you
As a fan of machining, this is super cool. As a fan of motorcycling, it's going to suck when the bike is eventually dropped and you have to make a new lever from scratch.
i was speechless looking that. you are a great machinist. the results are so beautiful from the manual machine. maybe I'll try to make it challenge me too. thanks for sharing ca lem.
Beautiful. Amazing. Inspiring. You could buy those parts anywhere, but you wanted the ones you wanted and you made it happen. Awesome stuff Mr. Cà Lem. I miss your vids in the gaps between Posts. Thanks for sharing brother 🙏. 😎
Beautiful work, Ca Lem. Thank you for sharing it with us. It's great to see your learning process, even though most people would hide their mistakes. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole bike in a future video!
Looks (better than) factory! So very cool to be able to customize your ride like that, to get it just the way you want it. Your skills put the work of many people two or three times your age to shame. Love to see more!!
I was going to say, if you lived a bit closer, I'd anodise those parts for you. And then you did it yourself. They look better than bought ones and they'll last forever.

Oh we're much closer than most of my friends here 😅.
Superb effort. I don't often comment on videos, but this is top class and I appreciate the effort and skill involved, so i will make an exception. You should be proud of your skills, capabilities & tenacity.
No plans... no problems... Lost of learning maybe, probably. I have been watching you for years and I have learned so much from you. I learned a lot just in this video alone. Really nice work. May I suggest looking into getting an optical center punch. They really improve accuracy, if you need it, when doing layout work. Thanks!
ปีที่แล้ว +2
Thank you. I never think layout work is important until now 😅
@ Comes in handy every now and then. Sometimes I'll even take a 1:1 drawing of a part and actually glue it to the chunk of steel or aluminum that I'm making the part out of.
You are really an inspiring person. I just can’t believe that you just made all those parts manually without drawings. Really amazing to see. I whish you all the best. Had fun watching your road trip video as well :)
I also made my own replacement brake and clutch levers for my motorcycle, but I succeeded at my first attempt. Okay, I have to add that I have a mechanical engineering degree and learned long ago never to start a project without first making drawings. Doing that saves you an awful lot of frustration, disappointed and work. Otherwise a good video and the results are impressive.
great work. my experience working on brakes tells me the cap needs a ventilation hole or small valley to keep the outside of the rubber diaphragm at atmospheric pressure.

On motorcycle lever, near the end of it, there s a precut zone. In case of fall the lever is more likely suceptible to break at that set up weak point rather than a bit too further. That's a way to still have a functional lever despite the fall of the bike. Great job anyway and drive safe

Seeing multiple attempts of the same part sitting in the Box of Shame always makes me tear up a little 😢
Both my favourite channels know each other! Gorgeous! Best wishes!
Ca lem have your own box of shame!
You aren’t doing too bad yourself ! 😃👍
Brother! A lot of people including myself miss you and your videos! =)
Hope to that all is well and that you'll be back again to create your awesome content!
this is what machining from an artists perspective looks like. I enjoy these
I definitely miss you and your videos Ca Lem. I hope you and your family are well. All the best!

Wow! I have never seen manual machining as good as that!
Gday, that’s a big task to take on and you nailed it, great that you showed your mistakes as well, cheers

You are an amazing machinist, as always thanks for your videos.
Your ingenuity and creativity never cease to amaze me. No apology is necessary for your experimentation. 😁
Truely inspirational. I would have never dreamed to take on that part with manual machines, but every step was logical and practical. Thank you
Wow gorgeous. ❤❤❤ Now you can never drop your bike. 🙂🙏👍

CLC for the win!
Greetings from Johannesburg
I love how you show the failed attempts, you are the definition of perseverance. 🎉

I would "second" your comments!
The 🇨🇦 🐻❄️ in 🇩🇪...
Always love a Cà Lem video. I even enjoyed the Foreigner Easter egg @8:32
The burr used on the mill is a genius idea!
Most under subscribed manual machinist on TH-cam!

When machining becomes an art form! Great job!
Probably the best brake & lever that's ever been made, I'm guessing.
Super nice job, lots of good practice/design protypes.
Thanks uncle Randy
Excellant art and beautiful photography. Thank you for the video. You must be preparing for an excursion and I hope you take us followers along. Cheers.
Measure twice, cut once 🤣 Thanks for showing the mistakes!
12:00 Great idea, I'll have to try that one.
Great work! Even with my cnc I still make that many revisions. The iterative changes expand to fit the available time.
I could not stop watching, so good! I love that you make the effort to turn a boring commodity item into something bespoke and worth celebrating. Thank you!

True, but I don't think he wants to leave his home, and it may be difficult to do contract work by mail order.
@@haphazard1342 // That may be true, but I learned long ago not to speak on behalf of others.
Some very cool setups there Ca Lem. Beautiful, inspiring work. And - it's funny that you swear in English. Shhiii... 😂
Thanks Craig. I swear in many languages
@ Swearing in another language has been proven to be 40% more effective.
Awesome, enjoyed your craftsmanship, artistry, ingenuity, talent on the various parts….lots of lessons in your builds
That's not a serious problem, that's a skill!
Cheers
The shot at ~ 8:50 where you manually feed a 3D contour is absolutely insane. This is the damn pinnacle of manual machining
I think of it as the adult Etch-a-Sketch. 👍

Beautiful work, Craftsmanship turned up to 11. Your videos are a joy to watch
Cà Lem, I say bravo to you for your creativity and your know-how. I am impressed every time. Like you, I also have a workshop.
Your skill level’s on another planet!
Amazingly mind blowing!!!
Keep it up and show us more. Please!
Amazing work mate. To have done all that detail with manual machines and no drawing is next level brother. I am a machinist and work for Kennametal.
Besides the natural talent and skill you show in your projects , I really enjoy the humorous aspects of them !
Absolutely amazing craftsmanship as always
The patience of a Master Craftsman ... and no CNC needed !
Very impressive!
The brake levers remind me of a video by Paul Brodie. He too made a set of brake levers on a manual lathe.
It's reassuring to see all the failures. I'll have to keep that in mind when I start doing more metal working.
Those turned out really good. Great fabrications.
Thanks for sharing.
You'll put Brembo out of business! Excellent work.

When I fabricate, I sometimes think I'm good, I see this work.... I'm a dunce.
Superior work, sir.
Absolutely stunning workmanship, well done! I like the bracing bar too, all unique..
Totally frickin' awesome! You are a true artisan, sir. Thank you for treating the world to your content.
i was speechless looking that. you are a great machinist. the results are so beautiful from the manual machine. maybe I'll try to make it challenge me too. thanks for sharing ca lem.
Exceptional workmanship as always. Thanks for sharing 🙏
You ruined my day by showing me I will never come close to your craftmanship 😂🤣
Great job again, love your amazing work!
Ooooo...7:47...*SCRAP*...I bet that hurt!
The things that you notice, too late. But, honesty in your videos is a great thing!!
Beautiful work. Great attention to detail, AND you show your mistakes! Love ya work.
Great job man! You have alot of patience and love for your job, and another level of skills!
Thanks for the video! I really enjoyed watching it!!
everything you make is a work of art.
Another job with a level of perfection that only you can
Beautiful. Amazing. Inspiring. You could buy those parts anywhere, but you wanted the ones you wanted and you made it happen. Awesome stuff Mr. Cà Lem. I miss your vids in the gaps between Posts. Thanks for sharing brother 🙏. 😎

You are really an inspiring person. I just can’t believe that you just made all those parts manually without drawings. Really amazing to see. I whish you all the best. Had fun watching your road trip video as well :)
Amazing work as always! And your ability to stay with the project through so many issues is what makes this channel so good
That came out awesome Ca Lem👍 There is a lot of work went into building that hydraulic lever assembly. The anodizing looks nice. Great job🙂
By the way I just liked and subscribed. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time now, but I forgot to subscribe….sorry about that👍🙂
Welcome man 😃

Ciao, Cà Lem; sei fantastico le tue capacità sono oltre, da non credere. Che Dio ti benedica, era da un po che non ti vedevo....ciaooooo
Unbeleiveably good work i can only hope to get close with my own work. Simply inspiring
This is insane !!!! You are an artist man. Amazing Job!!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
nice job, like the way how you approach things.
cheers ben.
I can't say enough good things about this video from start to finish 👏👏
great work. my experience working on brakes tells me the cap needs a ventilation hole or small valley to keep the outside of the rubber diaphragm at atmospheric pressure.
Very nice!! Always impressed with your work. If you ever come to Da Nang, I'll buy you a drink.
