    I started watching the Americans largely because she was in it. I have loved her and everything I’ve seen, even though I never did see an episode of Felicity.
    If I were a casting director, I would definitely find places for her to be a lead. Hell, if I were a script writer, I would write with her in mind on projects, I’m sure.

    Most actors do a decent job of hiding there agitation in front of cameras but I must say she does a great job of being somewhat real in front of interviewers. I mean they probably get asked the same questions over and over and over again it must get tiring but I’ve noticed in all the interviews that she does she seems to always have a positive glow about her especially when she’s doing it with Matthew.

      Hmmm...it’s tough. I’m a breaking bad fan and really liked the finale. I thought the show could have ended earlier though. There was a bit of the Americans were I thought maybe they were maybe losing some of their steam but they course corrected and the last season was sooo good. The finale was perfect. I’m trying to think of another good finale...people say Six Feet Under, which was great but the show itself wasn’t so enthralling.

    If you watch the first season of The Americans, Stan is hot on their trail and they're almost caught. Season 2, Stan backs off, Philp and Elizabeth do other Spy things.
    Season 3.
    Season4.
    Season 5 goes by and Stan quits counter intelligence.
    Season 6, Stan rejoins counterintelligence and is hot on The Jennings trail and he catches them.

    • @rwmorey71
      @rwmorey71 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Noah Redding Ok, I totally agree with you on that take on what happened to them, however, the fact the poor Stan let them go really seemed unrealistic to me. He was chasing after these Russians the whole show and I think that he would have not hesitated a second to shoot them or arrest them or whatever was required to bring them to justice so him letting them go was really lame as far as I'm concerned.

    • @anneb889
      @anneb889 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Richard Morey While Stan arresting them may have been more realistic, the ending the show did was more of a poetic justice....for all the reasons the other post wrote. I look at possibly never seeing/having a relationship with your kids again (will Henry forgive that betrayal?) as some form of justice. As brutal as they were, killed many people, etc, that life takes a toll on you. As Phillip said to the one guy, I feel like sh*t all the time. Part of me hates the not knowing of what became of them in Russia (were they executed, hero’s for all they did, etc), but I get why writers do that. We will criticize no matter what, so leave it up to us to imagine what happens next.

    • @tejaswoman
      @tejaswoman 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For future reference, you can't say "spoiler alert" and then _jump right into_ what you're alerting people to. You have to give them a few lines of space or something in case they want to switch away. (Obviously it is no longer a spoiler, but it was when you wrote this.)

    • @ja_u
      @ja_u ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rwmorey71I don’t agree. He let Oleg go, he even saved Oleg even though it was in the best interest for the FBI.
      His relationship with Philip, Elizabeth and all of the Jennings was clearly much more close. As he said in the confrontation, Philip was his best friend, as he was his. On top of that Elizabeth and the kids were a big part of his life for years. His kids’ life for years. It’s not like they were just some illegals he knew faintly, they were very close friends.
      Also he tried to arrest them, told them to lie down. But he also knew it wasn’t unlikely they would be ready to die instead of being arrested. He knew as well that they would leave the country, likely never set foot in America ever again so just having revenge for his killed colleagues against the life of a family, close friends, that he could spare. All this added to the fact that he was gonna be looking after Henry, tell him the whole story, I’m sure he wouldn’t have wanted to be the one who killed Henry’s parents.
      Basically, Stan wasn’t some FBI machine. All throughout the series he would make decisions upon his own conscience. He was also fine with quitting, giving his job away for Oleg Burov’s safety. Burov certainly was less of a friend and less important than the Jennings to Stan.
      I don’t think the story was unrealistic in any way. Not all illegals got caught, many went home after successful lives. And as for what happened to them in Russia, you could consult history books. The story is aiming to fit to historic events. Like the START program in 1991. From real history timelines they would’ve come to the US around 1970 and left 1989/1990. Gorbachevs plans weren’t met with excitement but even after his end I don’t think anything would’ve happened to them. Maybe they would’ve moved to a different Russian speaking Eastern European country or stayed in Moscow. Who knows, maybe even return to the US as normal immigrants, certainly not as spies tho.
