      Unless you're following the tech throughout the service you won't. Also consider that the service is outcome based not how much insecticide is used. This video is how to treat your home initially. For example, you wouldn't dust those areas every month or even every other month as it lasts generally 6 months

    Working as a professional pest control technician i can disprove alot of this. Although we work with more potent and efective chemicals, alot of the digging and getting rid of brush and dirt is incorrect. If you use more of a pesticide to water ratio you can obviously get a stronger result. You don't really need to spray the whole 3 feet in either direction, just a simple stream that touches the bottom of the house and the basic ground should be fine enough. As far as the dusting goes, you want to apply it under any possible openings, cracks, and crevices around the home in about 6 inches to 1 foot increments. And when it comes to holes or larger openings and or around pipes and siding, just a simple layer of expanding foam in the hole and it can stop mice for up to a year...as well as BAIT TRAPS and bigger glue strips... not snap traps... can help in frequent sightings INSIDE OF THE HOME...bait traps need to be placed in corners and glue strips up above cupboards (if dealing with roaches) and folded up glue traps( to avoid children and pets) under highly wet or warm areas of the kitchen or bathroom such as under the sink, fridge, toilet and oven. As far as residential in home spraying goes (if you need to spray inside for bedbugs, roaches or mice you should call a professional)
    Sincerely,
    The person you pay to kill your bugs. ♡ :)

      @domyown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      We appreciate your feedback. The chemicals you use as a technician are the same chemicals we offer on our site for our customers to purchase and they would be using the same strength formulas as you are familiar with in your work. There are exceptions to some products in more restrictive states such as NY, CT, and CA for instance, however most are registered for a homeowner to have access to themselves. Using more pesticide to water ratio does not lead to a stronger result. You should never apply a chemical any higher strength than the manufacturers label dictates. Some products will have a low end and a high end use rate, depending on whether you are treating proactively for insect prevention, or doing a clean out and elimination of a current pest infestation. Mixing stronger than label rates will not increase your results, for some pests it can actually work the opposite of what you desire by doing so, and would be unsafe. The Label is the law and should be followed as such. While a full 3 foot up and out barrier may not be necessary for every persons needs, it does create a well treated zone of protection around the home, and the more surface area there is for an insect to crawl over the more product it picks up on its body to die from. A simple stream leaves very little room for an insect to cross over and get a full dose of the chemical to be affected. The better barrier you create on the outside of the home around the foundation, as well as window/door frames and other entry points like pipes, etc, the better protection you get and less need for any interior insecticide applications.
      Expanding foams and other excluder materials such as steel wool, copper mesh, and similar items are all great for sealing up gaps around the home from rodents or insects. Since not all homeowners have the ability to get every crack on the home (many older homes for instance have an abundance of gaps that are not easily reached), spraying where you can get is a better alternative to not doing anything at all. Bait stations for rodents ideally should only be used outside once the home has been adequately sealed up, to help avoid any unnecessary decomposing rodent bodies for the home owner to have to find, remove, or deal with indoors in walls. They are effective for dropping overall rodent populations outdoors to help reduce the chances of them chewing into the home. Glue traps are a great monitoring tool for indoors, and great for catching rodents that do end up inside a home.
      We have thousands of customers who are great DIY-ers who have successfully followed insecticide labels, as well as our handy guides, to treat for and eliminate bedbugs, roaches, mice, and many other pests on their own. With the expert advice from our team, we empower our customers to tackle pest problems head on, and recommend pro help when the situation seems a bit too daunting for those tougher situations.

    I live in a townhouse complex and i did the back patio and front porch area. Next is to find indoor bug spray and the dust so i can do the inside the same. We were infested with gnats for like 2 months probably longer. And i couldn’t take it anymore. When we contacted the pest control on sight , he told us to just keep the drains closed and there’s nothing he could do for us. It got so bad i started eating in the car and i would just stand over my daughter swatting them away until she could finish eating and even then a lot of food got thrown away. I had to sleep completely under the covers. I couldn’t stop itching. I felt disgusting. I tore the place apart and cleaned it like a mad woman. I have never moved a stove or fridge before but i did here! Lol it was so bad i was twitching and ticking like i lost some screws for real. But we used some foggers and i started treating outside on our own. I can’t wait to get tf out of this place but at least i can eat without swallowing the food whole in seconds or having to go outside in the car to eat.

      Our most popular general use product is called Talstar. www.domyown.com/talstar-talstar-one-p-97.html It is widely used by pest control companies because it is labeled for almost every insect you could have a problem with and you can use it outside the home as well as inside, it is odorless and very safe for use around children and pets. It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water in a one gallon hand pump sprayer. www.domyown.com/chapin-sprayers-c-29_189_270.html It will last for 60 to 90 days outside in between treatments. But in addition to what op recommended, you should compare the chemicals you're spraying with datasheets and information for the filter/cartridge you use. I use a 3M half-mask respirator similar to what they linked. 3M sells lots of different filters and cartridges. Depending upon the task you're doing, certain filters are better suited. You can have a filter rated P100, but there are different types that can filter out additional things like chlorine gas and other vapors.

      Most hand pump and backpack sprayers will not have more than up to about 50-60 psi, so you generally would not use any more than that for regular perimeter insecticide applications. You would only need a higher psi if you were needing to treating up high such as on second story eaves or very tall trees.

I like the Tempo SC and the Suspend Polyzone for around and inside the house but I would think it would cost a fortune to use product like that on an entire lawn? I would think there is a larger bulk item I could use for lawn insect treatment, what would you suggest?
    Side note, this would be for a few homes I treat like my own, parent grandparents etc.. so I didn't want to just purchase a hose end sprayer bottle from the local home supply store which would be 10-15$ each when I would think if I buy a concentrate and hose end sprayer my money would go farther with a much better product.

It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water in a handpump, backpack or hose end sprayer. It will last for 60 to 90 days outside in between treatments. It is also labeled for lawn and ornamental use, and can be used on trees, plants, bushes and shrubs for all sorts of ornamental pests including Japanese beetles, mosquitoes, and other leaf eating pests.
      Bifen IT is also available in a granule formula called Bifen Granules if you prefer to use granules. www.domyown.com/bifen-granules-p-227.html

      @@domyown Thanks for your response. I am still considering what to use, I thought of a hose end sprayer so it would be faster and I wouldn't need to lug around a pump sprayer all over the yard.
      Though if I use the Bifen IT in a hose end sprayer, should I add some water in the resistor to thin it out? I know the insecticide is more of a thicker creamy liquid so I'm not sure if that will hinder the siphoning?

    How often do you recommend applying insecticide dust?

    • @domyown
      @domyown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on which insecticide you choose. Here's some information on two insecticides that cover a large range of insects:
      D-Fense Deltamethrin dust contains the same active ingredient as Delta Dust. D-Fense Deltamethrin dust is water resistant and can last up to 8 months when applied in wall voids and cracks and crevices properly. This should be applied using a hand duster or power duster equipment.
      www.domyown.com/dfense-deltamethrin-dust-p-2428.html
      Cimexa Dust is 100% Silica dust, is very safe, odorless, and will not stain. CimeXa Dust will last up to 10 years when applied to undisturbed areas like wall voids.
      www.domyown.com/cimexa-insecticide-dust-p-2513.html

    • @jenhoward8158
      @jenhoward8158 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Once that dust goes behind walls or in voids where water doesn't get to it, it's pretty much there to stay. It's not like a chemical spray that has a short residual time, especially outdoors where the sun rays really shorten them. Dust has become a very underused product over the years since non-repellent sprays like Alpine WSG, Phantom and others.

    So you need to both spray and dust?

    • @domyown
      @domyown  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we recommend applying both a liquid insecticide and an insecticide dust for general pest control and treatment. Insecticide dust, also known as insect killer dust, offers additional protection against pests. Pests will walk through the dust and slowly die. Because it takes some time for pests to perish after contact with insecticide dust, it should be used with liquid insecticide for maximum results.
      You can shop insecticide dust on our site here: www.domyown.com/insect-killer-dust-c-30_77.html

      No,I don't think that would work because most dusts become ineffective if they get wet so dusting anything outside is in my opinion a complete waste of time,money ,resources and most dust products aren't labeled for or safe to use outdoors due to the dust becoming airborn

    Hi, I just bought some Alpine WSG because I currently have an ant and cockroach problem in my room, as well as seasonal stickbugs coming and going. I was wondering if this chemical is safe to spray inside the bedroom which I sleep in. If so, how long should I wait until I can safely sleep in the room? Thanks.

    • @domyown
      @domyown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once the surfaces treated with Alpine WSG are completely dried it is safe to return. You will want to make sure that is ventilated as much as possible and return about 2-4 hours later.
      However there is no need to broadcast spray indoors for your target pest. Baseboard and crack and crevice treatment is sufficient.

      @domyown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you can spray Alpine WSG around the air conditioner connected to the window. Just give it time to dry before turning it back on. Delta dust is labeled for all your target pest so would be a good option as well.

      I could. But that was because they offered the service. I fired them, though, after initially taking on their service. In this case, the problem was the owner did not seem to have employee buy-in for doing gutter cleaning. The employee seemed unhappy to be at risk from extended time on a ladder twenty feet off the ground. It *can* kill you. So, the dude skipped many of the sections (I have a complex roof). I ended up doing it myself, unwisely many tell me (55 years old at time), taking photos of the full gutter, and ripping the vendor. Gutter cleaning is funny. The odds of death are low. Then again, everybody injured or killed thought it would not happen to them.
