This video was absolutely fantastic. I was never able to properly put into words how YN2 is the perfect CSX scheme, but you did. How the colors reflect CSX's history, I never noticed that. CSX YN2 is still my favorite paint scheme, and always will be. It's not just nostalgia, it just looks great. I love the usage of my footage at 10:06. Thank you.
4:29 - Hey 4419 (and Lima) that's my buddy's video, but I also saw it while it was in Lima. It was stationed there for about 6 months before being taken back down to Queensgate about a month ago. I also noticed some other of my local spots like Deshler, Foster ho- I mean Fostoria, and Marion, overall W video 8:32 no way north baltimore reference
The first YN3-painted locomotive was an SD50 that was released in 2002. The first NEW YN3-paintes locomotives delivered in YN3 were actually the CW44AHs (AC4400CWs/AH4400CWs) in 2002.
CVS, the railroad that operates my amazing, D&S Spur. Amazing video, we do see alot of YN2 on the Aberdeen Sub. You officially have made CSX, my favorite existing railroad. Cheers, Winnipeg.
I might've seen some CSX YN2 motive power in the Pacific Northwest during the early 2000's as 'through power' as well as when I was living on Long Island, NY during the early 2000's. Never got a picture of them while I was on Long Island though as I was in grade school during that time.
Awesome look at the history of YN2, Definitely the best 90's paint scheme, especially compared to something like UP and NS. Also nice reference in the nostalgia part to the Subaru Outback, i have a outback from that generation and its the best car
My channel used to be the reptilian railfans but my friend and I who the channel changed the name a few days ago Thanks for including my clip of CSX 140(the yn2) I absolutely go crazy over YN2s
YN2 and H2 lashup hits hard no joke. That’s why I wanted to throw my computer into the street when I missed a CSX YN2 lead and BNSF H2 MAC trailing on a train on the UP Geneva Sub
I think it’s great that CSX gave themselves the YN3 idea with the Bush train as well as UP’s Flag scheme and Bush funeral train. George H.W. Bush did have an impact in railroading after all.
I'll admit, that was some pretty good yap, with just the right amount of sap. 😆 It was a welcomed diversion from the darkness that got even colder and gloomier this week, down here in Yankeeland. FWIW, thanks for continuing to be our good neighbours, even when we don't deserve such, especially right now with our scary clowns saying very troubling things. 🙏
I’ve made it a point to try to get out and catch as many YN2 locomotives as who know how long it will be until they are all gone, with CSX’s rebuild program their days are numbered
Great video dude! I feel the same way about the Santa Fe Warbonnet paint scheme. Even though I never lived in the 90’s the paint scheme became my favorite just because I remember watching many DVD documentaries about the 90’s Santa Fe. I also think because of how bright, flashy, and interesting the paint scheme looked compared to other schemes from the 90’s and the modern day has really made me love the Warbonnet paint scheme that much more. Anyways ya’ll get the point, I’m gonna stop my yapping right now before it gets to out of hand. lol
DID YOU KNOW THAT CSX YN2 CAN BE SEEN IN THE HIT 2008 MOVIE BOLT BY WALT DISNEY STUDIOS? IN THE TRAIN SCENE THERE ARE 3 CSX SD70MAC IN THE ICONIC YN2 PAINT SCH-
CSX’s Bright Future paint scheme is iconic, no doubt, but do you think it truly represents the 'modern railroad'? With so many railroads embracing minimalist or more futuristic designs, does the 'Yellow Nose 2' feel a bit dated now? I personally love its bold colors, but I’m curious if it still holds up against today’s industry standards.
Growing up I used to see this paint scheme all the time, it's always a good day when I see a YN2. However I think the AC6000CW version of YN2 is this best.
the visibility issue makes me think can we gather statistics on train crashes and see if paint scheme has any affect on cars trying to beat the train across a track? Could a intimidating paint scheme trick drivers into thinking twice?
I love YN2 but the YN3 can look good especially on the AC44’s with the YN3B. The fact that the AC44’s are being rebuilt and repainted from YN2 to YN3C is sad but they wear a fresh coat of paint splendidly!!
Unpopular opinion: I feel like the way the livery on CSX 1850 is almost reminiscent of the AC6000 YN2 variant. Also my clip at 11:02 (nostalgic Minecraft music goes so hard too 🥲)
I personally don't like 1850, idk if it's my despise for L&N (because they killed the Monon), but it also looks the most bland. I never noticed the resemblance to YN2 though

YN2 is a cool scheme, but it belongs in the era it lived on. The heavy use of gray makes it feel Y2K era, nothing wrong with that, but hard to convey a modern company with a scheme that looks old.

For some reason a chilean railroad called TRANSAP adopted the CSX YN2 scheme on its locomotives but instead of having gray, it has lights blue.
10:39 Hey it’s my clip, it feels so surreal to see one of my clips in someone else’s video, thanks for using it 😊
Great video dude! I agree with that nostalgia reasoning. Happy to provide clips for it!

CTC railroad is epic
i still see yn2's
i LOVE their paint, prob my fav paint of ANY railraod
YN2 and H2 lashup hits hard no joke. That’s why I wanted to throw my computer into the street when I missed a CSX YN2 lead and BNSF H2 MAC trailing on a train on the UP Geneva Sub
Ngl YN2 is the best modern paint scheme I have seen a few and I enjoyed catching them. So great video it really explains why it’s a good paint scheme.
I knew many B&O C&O employees but CSX became the railroad in our community.
0:25, I’ve also been wondering what the X is for in CSX
Probably 'combination', even if it doesn't start with X
But several of CSX’s heritage units remind me of the YN2, *Seaboard system 1982, NYC 1853, L&N 1850 Family Lines 1972, and Clinchfield 1902*
It stands for eXperimental.
I shit you not, the x is for experimental.
X stands for multiplication between two companies
I've referred to the x in csx as expansion
I believe the “X” stands for the merger, cause the two lines of the X were the Chess and Seaboard
there was a geotrax toy locomotive that was not only based off a GE (I think), but was also painted in yn2 colors
0:27 I think the x in CSX means express, I might be wrong, because if express in CSX is spelled correctly it would be CSE
8:48 the fact i can recognize this by the fence, FO-TRIOT (fostoria) 🤣
5:31 CSX 5555 was the Spirit of Cartersville which us my hometown. cool.
Damn, i snooze, i lose. Still W video as always. It's always a good day when you see a yn2 leading.
This will be CSX in 1934.
AC6K MENTIONED🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥

I can agree that YN2 is the best scheme, but YN3 is also good, my only downside for YN3 is the angled stripe not being there
I just found a random old video I got of one of these locos! Might post it
That intro 😂
You forgot about the "YN2-y" or "YN2b" AC6000CW livery with the yellow letters on the sides of the long hood.

YN3 is just BR Blue locomotive livery with a diferent shade : D
the visibility issue makes me think
can we gather statistics on train crashes and see if paint scheme has any affect on cars trying to beat the train across a track?

get this man a true
I thought this was real for a second 😭(starting clip)
YN2 is a great color scheme don’t get me wrong, but YN3 isn’t a bad scheme I guess the point he made makes sense, blinding nostalgia
Amazing video man
Yo new video post is crazy🦀
It will be a sad day when we lose the final YN2 painted CSX Locomotive. There is not another Paint Scheme (apart from the warbonnet) that can beat it.
Nice video
Btw the x symbolizes the merger
That intro should be NS
4:38 fun fact only 1 SD80MAC got YN2 No. 801/4591
I love YN2 but the YN3 can look good especially on the AC44’s with the YN3B. The fact that the AC44’s are being rebuilt and repainted from YN2 to YN3C is sad but they wear a fresh coat of paint splendidly!!
H1 is also a good paint scheme
0:06 That will be me when CSX repaints most of their YN2 units.

Now do this with every railroad
The X In CSX Means Multiplier
when did you make a fursona?
also I cant remember why I subscribe
ah yes, my faveorite railroad: CXS
In my opinion, I prefer YN3
YN2 the best CSX paint
so peak
Why? Because it made big moves at CPKFC.
The CSX YN2 More Resembles Ukrainian Flag
But YN4 will honored the YN2
I just don’t like it when Railroads simply their paint schemes.
9999 4:49
I like how you fumbled the CSX name thrice
I personally don't like 1850, idk if it's my despise for L&N (because they killed the Monon), but it also looks the most bland. I never noticed the resemblance to YN2 though
Say CSX 5 times fast tehehehehhehe
