Out of all the Sister Wives’ Podcasts recapping the show this one is the best because you two have so much more insight. I worry about Robyn’s oldest son. I forget what season and episode Kody and Robyn told Robyn’s kids their biological father gave up his parental rights but the look on Dayton’s face was so sad to me. Robyn is so selfish it’s sickening. Absolutely love you 2 by the way!!
I'll never forget that look on Dayton's face. He was devastated. One of her daughters was sobbing and I don't think it was for happiness either. I think she was sad for her biological father.
Meri works her ass off doing LuLaRoe sales. A lot of people judge her for selling those clothes, but she isn't forcing anyone to buy. (And the denims wear like iron) It is legit income, so is her Inn. She has several things going on to earn her way. I admire her for making her own way and I am so damned glad she bought that Inn on her own, even though Creepy Kody showed up for the ribbon cutting. She should have pushed him down the porch steps.
I love Meri's carriage house. Meri has good friends who know Meri, respect Meri and love Meri. The memory bear brought tears to my eyes. The cold hard truth is that none of the Browns took the time to know Meri. None of them could design and gift her this perfect carriage house. Gwen is right. Meri has a fabulous 'found family' that joins her at her table. Meri is loved and that is good.
Yes! I love this for Meri too. Non of us are perfect & I’m sad for the children that felt abused by her. That being said we all have the ability to find our best selves. I love this version of Meri 💕
Gwen was not a part of the older OG kids, who had a very different experience with Meri. Maddie Brown Brush tweeted that Meri was abu$ive and a monster, and that she grew up in fear of Meri. Paedon and Mykelti have also talked about this. Maddie, Logan, and Mykelti all didn't invite Meri to their weddings or birthings. I suspect that no more was said publicly about the abu$e becasue it could risk cancelling the show - similarly to what happened with the Duggars. Both J and Ch have said many times that they have no intention of ever having a relationship with Meri. It will be interesting to see J's intentional interaction with Meri in coming episodes - in discussing their Brown Family investments. Christine was easily financially compensated for her family investments through some last minute changes during the purchase of her Flagstaff house. Kody's name WAS originally to be on Christine's Flagstaff house, but removed so he could buy the McMansion. In the end, that worked out perfectly for Christine, because when she chose to leave, she was easily able to keep all the money from the sale of her Flagstaff house for her compensation, and then sold her share of Coyote Pass to Kody for $10. THAT worked out VERY WELL for Christine! Janelle and Meri are not so lucky! J and Meri clearly STILL have a shared interest in their current Brown Family investments (the McMansion and Coyote Pass). I suspect Janelle is only with Meri in the coming episode, to discuss their shared financial interests - and maybe to inquire about an official AUB release from her spiritual marriage - to use as bargaining leverage with Kody, if needed. Christine, I believe, in this upcoming episode is only in Meri's presence for the show, not becasue she has any intention of being friends. Polygamy didn't bring out the best in Meri - unlike Christine. However, I am very happy to see Meri thriving and doing well, and wish her the very best moving forward. I'm so happy to see the three OG's moving on in such a wonderfully positive way! Their collective liberation from the toxic relationships is the best part of the show for me! That, and that all the OG kids have chosen to NOT be part of the AUB - and that they are such nice kids! (peace to RGB)
During covid, Janelle's boys called Robyn requesting their dad back. Why Robyn? They said it was because Robyn is the hand that turned the head. The kids all knew that Robyn controlled Kody.
The OG kids had a front row seat. When the kids were young, Kody coming to their house was like the circus coming to town. But when they got older, they could see through his schtick - and boy did they have his number. I've always been so impressed with how the OG kids turned out - in spite of being raised in a cult, and on a TV show. (peace to RGB)
It came up in the season 17 or seasin 18 Tell All that Robyn was upset about Christine discussing her personality type. Christine explained that she apologized and spoke with Robyn to resolve it. Then Robyn mentioned it to Kody when Christine thought it was resolved. The personality test was taken back when all five went to Sedona for a marriage counseling trip when still living in LV. The house conversation and your comments reminded me of this.
These are the undercutting manipulations that happen for her to gain favor. It creates slivers in C & K relationship too. It’s extremely manipulative and I see polygamist wives do this quite often.
Christine and Janelle did a fabulous job! And tons of credit to Logan, Aspen, and the other older kids, who also played a major role in raising the youngers. Logan filled in as a father figure more often than any child should have to.
And the nanny!!! Robyn had 5 kids (2 mostly grown) and no job, yet she needed a nanny? Christine was raising 13 at one time with no help. Kody did say “raising the kids is the easy part”. How would he know?
Yeah, Christine home school the older OG kids at home for a long time - until they moved to Vegas. And what's telling is that ALL the OG kids ADORE Christine! Christine's heart is so big - and she genuinely made room for each of the kids in her heart - and they felt it.
Yes, Janelle was bullied horribly by Meri. Meri was a very controlling first wife, and then sadly, encountered fertility issues, thereby only being able to have one child. Yes, Janelle did trust Meri to be more fair with family finances - unlike Robyn - whom she didn't trust to be fair - from the get-go. Janelle expressed that concern to Kody when Kody broght up to Janelle the idea of divorcing Meri in order to legally marry Robyn. Janelle shared with Kody that she wasn't sure she could trust Robyn to be fair. Meri was undoubtedly a bully as the first and legal wife, but in the end, Janelle felt she could trust Meri to look out for the overall family interests. Janelle was spot on.
Haha thank you for watching 🙏🏻. That comment floored me because I’ve seen my other mothers say stuff just like that after they have almost bankrupted the family.
Loving your channel! At some point, could you address the practice of bankruptcy in the AUB? As I understand it, Janelle was the first to declare bankruptcy for the family in 1997. Meri was next in 2005, followed by Christine in 2010 - just before the show. I heard somewhere that it was a common practice for polygamists in the AUB to declare bankruptcy. Also, applying for food stamps. Is that a common thing in the AUB - as I'd been told somewhere? Thanks! I'm obsessed with your content! I love the perspectives you both provide! I'm excited to see where your channel will be at the end of the season! You two really bring it! Not only your history, but the people you've chosen to become in your lives after you left the AUB. SOOOO REFRESHING! Thanks!
Thank you! We appreciate the support so much. 🙏🏻 People file bankruptcy for so many reasons. Cory & I had after we had our son & he was a NICU baby. He almost died. We were both recently self employed & had just lost our insurance. That was so unforeseen for us. It did fundamentally change us as people too & we’ve had to heal through the shame we felt about not being able to pay for our baby’s health. So I think throwing a blanket statement over BK’s in Utah like so many creators have done is unfair not knowing the circumstances behind why. But it does make for good gossip & villainizing a group of people to make the creators videos so much juicier. Hopefully that makes sense. It’s more for that creators to line their pockets with $$ than it is to be fair in the story they are telling. As for the Browns I have zero idea why they filed nor do I really have any interest in finding out. Most people I know don’t go on food stamps because they don’t want the government involved in their lives. I’m not saying people don’t do it I’m just not super familiar with it. When I divorced my husband he did everything her could to make me desolate & left with nothing. I worked 3 jobs well into the nights to ensure I could keep a roof over my children’s heads. Those are more of the stories I’m familiar with. Great questions & Welcome to our channel 🥰

Meri had a commission based income so she could fudge what she earned to Kody. Meri also gave some of her equity to Kody and Robyn for the house. One gave all of it and the other gave half I think. Don't remember who gave what.
I actually don’t think Janelle cares about the release at all. I took it as a threat to get him to move and stop delaying the conversations and plans. She knows how that hits him below the belt and I love it!
That’s exactly how I imagine Robyn manipulating Kody. 13:21 Edited to add we see Robyn doing exactly that when Meri wanted the whole family over for Christmas Eve.
She does quite an extensive amount of manipulation & that’s just what is visible on tv. Imagine what happens outside of the cameras rolling. My heart hurts for the OG3
I think the way Melanie describes the possible scene between Kody and Robyn about Meri n the BnB is spot on, BUT I do think King Kurls has always been influenced and swayed by his wives. That is what changed! Robyn became the only one he would "listen" to... once Janelle realized that she was done. Can you explain tithing?Do you have to tithe to Kody? Is there usually a set amount? Maybe Meri paid in and then just kept on saving the rest above and beyond. I dont believe Kody ever was in charge of his own mind. Historically, he has done what others told him.
Tithing is 10% of your earnings. The LDS church has it as well. Most churches do. If you don’t pay 10% of your income to the church then you don’t get to participate in the blessings that church offers.
I kind of figured. But I did wonder if once they left the church. If they continue to tithe to Kody, as he Was the patriarch... I guess we'll never know. Gosh, I really hope as these women have separated themselves , they all get some good therapy. I understand they're in a tight spot being contracted to the show. But Id really like to see the healing part of their journey. Frankly, I'd like to see them get angry at the abuse they have suffered. I don't think we will really see that as viewers... They must have all agreed to some degree to keep some secrets sacred.
He only brought up reconciliation once Janelle asked about him buying her out. He was just changing the subject because he don’t want to pay her money. He hasn’t come over to see Janelle or her kids in two years.
Kody thinks he is a philosopher and everything that comes out of his mouth is brilliant, as I'm you know first hand, so he loves analogies, and the one he made when Meri was talking about needing the money to make the down payment on the B&B was "Everyone is acting like this is a puppy and they have to have it." and Robyn interrupted him and said "I don't want the puppy." and after that, Kody was against the family giving Meri any money for the B&B. Keep in mind he had bragged about how he and his business partner had made a lot of money in some hair brained idea he had, and how they were about to give the money they took from the family back, so there was 'more than enough' for them to give Meri...after Robyn's comment, the business he talked about was folding and there was no money to give Meri and in fact the family fund was 'going broke'.
Meri is complicated. Yes, she's a type A, and strong willed. She was quite mean to Janellle in the early years - as written in their autobiography. The fact that she had fertility issues exacerbated her meanness. Meri became a harsh disciplinarian to J's and Ch's kids. Maddie Brown Brush once tweeted that Meri was a monster and abu$ive, and that she grew up in fear of Meri. Other kids of J's and Ch's have also eluded to this. However, it was kept low key to protect the show - and not have the show get cancelled like the Duggars. Meri then went behind the bacs of J and Ch, to bring Robyn into the family - against J's and Ch's wishes. Meri thought Robyn would be HER buddy, since Meri wasn't close to J and Ch. But that move backfired on Meri - and as we all see now - wound up liberating all three OG wives. In the end, J and Ch have both said they have no desire to maintain a relationship with Meri. I wish Meri well. I'm happy for her growing happiness and independence. However, it's yet to be seen if J and Ch will ever want to have a connection with her ever again.
@@ShellBAtoms I don’t blame J or C or even the children. There are wives i feel like I can/wont ever forgive for the abuse I have suffered at their hand.
We should be celerating "Wayward Women!" Remove the stigma, and celebrate the strength and courage - and provide the with the support they need to make it. Isn't Christine's mother involved with a group that helphs these courageous souls?
Meri was born and raised in the AUB. Meri's mother, Bonnie, remained in the AUB until she died. Bonnie LOVED Kody. Do you remember Meri's jewelery symbol in My Sister Wife's Closet? LOYALTY! Meri remained loyal to the beliefs in which she was raised. Bonnie passed away during covidd, and I think that freed Meri up to not worry about disappointing her dear mother. But she still stayed on for a few years, and stood by Kody and Robyn's side while they railed against Christine throught the "knife in the kidneys" episode. Meri picked sides. She picked Kody and Robyn over Janelle and Christine. It took her a while to see the light. But she finally did. And it's great to see her thriving!
Love it! I used to play the bagpipes as well. It's an instrument that is not usually popular or well loved 🤣 curious though, is it common for polygamists to come from a Scottish or Irish background because the Brown's seemed to claim their Irish background by promoting the claddagh ring
Staying with and making excuses for a man who treats his children and their mothers this horribly not only shows how dishonorable Kody is but it also reflects poorly on Robyn…
Is Meri close to the rest of her family. I know her older sibli gs past but what about the others. She seems to be alone for the holidays, except for friends.
Meri burned her own bridges with most all of the family. J and Ch have said they don't want to maintain any relationship with her in the future. Meri also had a history of treating the older OG kids pretty badly. Logan, Maddie, and Mykelti didn't invite Meri to their weddings or birthings. Maddie Brown Brush tweeted that Meri was abu$ive and a monster, and that she grew up in fear of Meri. Meri also sided with Kody and Robyn for a long time, and Meri stood by Kody's side when he gave his "knife in the kidney" diatribe. Polygamy didn't bring out the best in Meri. However, It's great to see Meri thriving! It's great to see that she has a wonderful network of friends. But the older OG kids and their moms, J and Ch, have moved on from Kody, Robyn, and Meri,
@@kalan.4656 👍 We did see Meri's sister in last week's episode, with her sister's husband, Nathan. Meri's sister was thrilled to get Meri's furniture. Meri also has another brother - to whom Janelle was married for a short time. Meri's mother, Bonnie, was on the show a few times. And Bonnie moved into Meri's family heirloom BnB, and ran it - until she passed a few years ago.

It's lost on Robyn that isn't what she's done, it's what she HASN'T done. Not blending into the already established values such as how the children were being raised or going with the majority on COVID instead of allowing Kody to isolate everyone else with the rules. If she really didn't want to cause trouble she wouldn't have just told Kody the story about her conversation with Janelle, she would have had Janelle with her in the discussion with Kody to make a point that he was overruled in the decision. Not doing that shows she wasn't serious and was tattling. She knew Kody long enough that he would take that out on Janelle, give me a break. Especially if she's as emotionally mature as she wants us to believe she is.
I wish i lived over there. I would fix them both up in a hot minute. I am a straight up say it like it is, no sugar coating. Im pretty black and white, but i can usually see both sides of a story. Henthinks he is smart, he isn't and i would reduce him to tears and leave him living his nightmare. Poverty is the only thing that scares him. Then poverty it is buddy. On hearing the news about those houses and his blatant disregard for the law im out for revenge. The women should never agree to sell coyote pass, then thay should leave the show. Chances are Christine and Janelle would get a spin off any way. Then they should write a book or 2 this time telling the truth. Hooefully in the meantime Robyn will leave Kody and take him to the cleaners. Thars just off the top of my head.

We should be celerating "Wayward Women!"
Remove the stigma, and celebrate the strength and courage -
and provide the with the support they need to make it.
Isn't Christine's mother involved with a group that helphs these courageous souls?
@@ShellBAtoms I think she is. My mom has been officially labeled as a Wayward Woman & so have her kids. 🤷♀️
Corey is hilarious! And honest!😂
😂😂 I adore him 🥰
I agree. These videos are very informative, but many of Corey's comments are hilarious.
What did the"sacred crybrows" ever do,beside harm?
@@lottechristensen8780 apparently not enough for any of the other wives to have the privilege of talking about it 🙄🙄
The wayward children theme sounds awfully FLDS.
Yes it does! They are moving more towards the FLDS policies.
Perfect example is Meri!!! He kept her hanging for a decade!!!
It’s disgusting
Don't forget Kody wanted to stash Meri in a barndominium with the rest of the things he didn't want anymore. So trashy and disrespectful.
@ yes I grew up with Meri. I loved her mom Bonnie. She was always so kind to me.
Love it! I used to play the bagpipes as well. It's an instrument that is not usually popular or well loved 🤣 curious though, is it common for polygamists to come from a Scottish or Irish background because the Brown's seemed to claim their Irish background by promoting the claddagh ring
Cory’s family converted in. His dad is from Germany & his mom is Scottish heritage.
Meri gave the profit of her Vegas house to Robyn for the McMansion
@@Nightbird1914 this seems to be a pattern for these women
I think your puppet analogy perfectly describes how Robyn controlled Kody.
😂😂 Thank you
There children not his children I would if we can track when kody had this change in the way he has referred to his kids
Staying with and making excuses for a man who treats his children and their mothers this horribly not only shows how dishonorable Kody is but it also reflects poorly on Robyn…
I totally agree! Any woman that continually allows this abuse is just as guilty.
Hi from Australia.
@@jananderson5712 hello! Welcome 🥰🥰
Is Meri close to the rest of her family. I know her older sibli gs past but what about the others. She seems to be alone for the holidays, except for friends.
I’ll bet she’s not really. That’s made for TV
But the older OG kids and their moms, J and Ch, have moved on from Kody, Robyn, and Meri,
@ShellBAtoms I meant her family. Sisters, brothers, mothers, Aunt's and uncles, cousins.
@@kalan.4656 👍
We did see Meri's sister in last week's episode, with her sister's husband, Nathan.
@ShellBAtoms I saw them but is Meri not close enough to them to spend holidays with them .
Kilt and bagpipes? Video or it didn’t happen 🤣
😂😂 I will see what I can do!

Can you please link the videos of your explanation of the types of polygamous wives? Thank you.

I am surprised that you have not looked into K and R's McMansion and new Mansion details, since you have the ability to get thorough details.
@@eydiefalkenhagen4434 I’m not into that type of gossip honestly. I don’t mind chatting about what they do on TV but I would never look into those types of details.
There's another content creator who does that.
Yes I agree.
I wonder where Curly and Robbing will be in 10 or 20 years from now
I wonder where I will be by then too 😂🤔

😂😳😂😳
Corey please get a mic. I can’t hear a word you’re saying.
It drives me crazy! I’m trying to get him to sit forward more. We are actually working on a studio right now so we will have our own mics soon.
