It's sad how many young Christians avoid this kind of preaching because they are old, or not modern...I'm 20 and the way the world is twisting the gospel makes me sad...there's consequently probably so many false converts because of all the desire for "modern" and "relevant" preaching... They forget that "...there is nothing new under the sun" Ecclesiastes 1:9
Oh my. I am hearing Iain Murray about the 4th or 5th time here on MLJ...Oh, I pray the Lord will send 1,000's & 1,000's of Christians to hear this...and to read the best most helpful book I have read next to the bible..."Studies in the Sermon on the Mount." (by Martyn Lloyd-Jones)
ritzbros...Good for you. I wanted to hear Iain give this message again, MLJ meaning so much to me from a nearly new believer to all these decades later. I do hope you were helped by the book; it changed my life with more knowledge of the bible and also how we (I) must be "hungering & thirsting after Him and His righteousness." (Mt. 6:33)
Hi Joshua, when was the talk give by Rev. Murray gave at the Master Seminary? Had a short but good fellowship with Rev. Murray when he was here in Sydney last month.
+Steven Yu (Yueh) I assume Iain is in his home at Edinburgh...at 84 now he (might, I say might, not be) traveling about as he did so much in his ministry. You must know he was asst. pastor to MLJ, then preached in U.K after that at Grove Chapel......later preached for some years in Austrailia. He is much like Lloyd-Jones was (to me in his person and thinking.) wl ...p.s... cannot recall offhand but this message is 2012 I believe, not long ago at any rate.
No worries, I met Iain several times as his was my pastor's minister when he was study for ministries, and he comes to our church for services. Looking forward to see him in two weeks time as I will be attending the Banner of Truth conference here in Sydney.
