    In this video I describe the path I followed from the moment I wanted to become an airline pilot untill I got the airline job. This story is based on an integrated flight training program so I did not had to deal with anything other than following their program and procedures. When doing a modular course the route to your first airline job is way different since you will have to deal with a lot more. A modular course is cheaper than an integrated course though. If you want to know how I financed the pilot training please watch my other videos (I am a pilot and incredibly rich) on my channel.
    I wanted to tell you guys a lot more about the different checkrides & tests during flight training but I had to shorten this video a lot so you can expect a different video about that in the future.

    Hi guys! Thank you all so much for your comments! Positive or negative, I always like to get feedback. Just to clarify some stuff that I have read...
    I am definitely not rich, quite the opposite in fact.. I even made a video about this subject a while ago: th-cam.com/video/iniGedOw5lg/w-d-xo.html
    As mentioned earlier, I am 100% Dutch... (not east European) Look it up, you might learn a thing or two hahaha ;-)
    If you have any (serious) questions you guys can always contact me via the contact form on my website www.dutchpilotgirl.com.

    My dad had an encounter with the first female airline pilot in America. I think it was 1971 or 1972 (early 1970's anyway) and he was loading me (I was a baby) my mom, and stuff into his Cherokee 6 and trying to perform a preflight in the dark. There were no ramp lights so he was trying to do everything with just a small flashlight. An airline was on the ramp near by and the pilot of the airliner turned on their landing lights to help him.
    Once he'd finished he got the plane started then called the airliner on the radio to thank them for the light. It was a woman who came back to say "You're welcome".
    My dad knew who it was because he had just read about the first woman hired as a pilot by any US airline.

      Snotlout OiOiOi look at atp flight school. It’s a fast track school from student pilot to airline pilot in 6 months. You get all the certifications to be an airline pilot and an instructor. After you finish the school you can work for them as an instructor to accumulate hours with pay of course. After you hit I believe 500 hours they will find small airlines that will want you so they can interview you. when you hit the requirements for the atp-r you can go on and work for the airline of choice.

    So many bullshit comments on a nice video about what it took to become a pilot. Men get upset because there is a woman who has done more than they have. They image you were given preferential treatment because of your looks or possibly money and that's why you have accomplished more than them. Instead of being negative, try trying to truly understanding yourself and others and the cause behind each person's success and failures. We all have mountains we must climb; some have a harder path than others, but at the end of the day there is always someone with less that has done more and we should always keep that in mind.

      Well ur so true tbh
      When I started to become a pilot even my relatives attacked me with their negative comments. 99% just cause of jealousy saying no there's no airline to accept a female pilot while there are so many guys out there so what ?!
      That's dumb cuz ppl think only men can become good at piloting but it's so wrong why ?! Cuz women are better multitasker
      I think even so many guys feel bad to have a pilot wife if they wanted to b pilot but now they're not

    • @sweethearts86
      @sweethearts86 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amen, it doesn't matter how great she looks, the question is can she do the work, can she fly with passengers or cargo? Yes. She proved to be capable in her work ethics because the dick it's going to be there to help her pass the exam that she has to pay for, dick isn't going to be there when she has to read the equipment or location coordinance for landing, etc. All the extra stuff is her business. Besides, it hurts a woman's credibility if she pays a hefty fee, goes to school, to then fuck the teacher?!? If an instructor pushes her to have sex, it's called sexual harassment. so, Some guys will always find any reason to put a woman down, especially if she's beautiful and successful.

      Joe Tyler long story short I took some medicine that my eye doctor thinks made a heretofore unknown problem with color blindness worse. I still see colors fine but I can't pass the color vision test. When colors get close like a dark green and brown it's very hard to tell the diff!?

    • @IndianapolisAirportSpotter
      @IndianapolisAirportSpotter 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Did you ever try to pass the Medical Flight Test (MFT)? That can be a substitute to the color vision test FYI. They will have you look a colors on charts, out in the landscape, and then give you a light signal test from the tower.

    • @michae8jackson378
      @michae8jackson378 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Indianapolis Airport Spotter (Zackary747) the FAA offered me that. So I went to the tower and a friend worked in the tower. He shot the signal light gun at me. The green and white were only discernible by brightness. I didn't think the pressure of flying an aircraft with an inspector sitting next to me was a great option. So I let my medical lapse. Now with the new medical situation I can fly again anything under 6000 pounds I believe it is

    Hey lucky lady! If I had my time again I'd definitely go airlines, sadly far too late for me now....but we have something in common, I learned to fly at Oxford too! ...although I didn't do any Jet orientation there...but it is where I flew my first solo (back in 1998!).....out of interest what type are you flying now and how many hours do you have? Fun video, thanks for posting - TMF

    On a recent assignment in India, I ran into a couple of female pilots from Lufthansa who had a unique experience. Seems Lufthansa has a program where they accept people directly into a college program that is also a flight training course. These ladies were guaranteed a position with the airline when they graduated. Both were now 2nd seat after 4 years. One was about to become captain within a year. Seems like a much better way of doing things than the hodgepotch way pilots are created in the USA.

    EDIT: Sorry for being negative, just taking out my frustration and anger towards myself for not working hard on my dream.

    Cool Video. I used to once be an aspiring Naval Aviator, but was med disc for my vision, (they were at a high point at the time), but until then, I had been flying on my own dime, just to get experience and I loved it, flying a 70's vintage 172. Didn't work out, but I had a great career as a Navy SWO, and got my Captain's License (100T) out of it, but still wanting to fly again!

    I always like to watch a success story on TH-cam on a topic that, for me, is currently just an enjoyable hobby and that I just happen to pick it up late in life. Better later than never.
    To my mind flying, weather as a pilot or a passenger, is the most rewarding thing, it's just like watching the whole world go by from the sky every single day. Too sad, we can't do that as often as we would like it because of this Covid 19 pandemic restrictions.
    As for those of you who don't often, listen, or pay attention to your own witty old siblings, think again. The story here It's a life lesson experience, kindly shared by this girl for all of you young and confused people out there when it comes down to choose and make something meaningful out of your own life.

      The most important part: Where did you get your job, how long are you working, was it hard to get a job, how was it to fly an airbus for the first time wasn't even mentioned!

      IF YOU REALLY ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT FLYING IT WILL BE EXPENSIVE, BUT IT WILL PAY OFF IN THE FUTURE BOTH FINANCIALLY AND SATISFACTORY. Once you get your CFI and CFII license you won't have to pay much anymore for flight training except for your multi- engine rating.

      There is a lot of international students that come from all over the world at my school at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Daytona Beach. People from India, Korea, Spain, England, and more. You will have to make an investment of about 90,000 USD for the flight program and that includes all of your ratings: private, instrument, commercial ,CFI, CFII, Multi- add on. Tuition and housing and everything like that is about 53,000 a year. There is an incredible amount of scholarships here though. My room-mate is an electrical engineer and he has 66,000 scholarship.

      Having a vagina or being brown helps enormously. It tells airlines immediately that you are a better pilot than those without those traits and so they completely tear up the rules designed to whittle incompetents out. It becomes impossible to fail an interview or sim check, your CV is magically put on the top of any pile, you enter this thing called a 'fast track', yeah I'd never heard of them either ... you get offered these things called sponsorships and ... nevermind. Its like me trying to tell you how to get a job a Santa's grotto. You're not an elf so forget it.
