Dude this videos are gold. I'm starting to reuse my collection to make a dnd campaign and this videos are giving me so many ideas. Cheers from Argentina!!
Building your own is awesome, but there are also sets that make great big pieces of terrain for DnD, just built by the instructions. Weathertop is a great ruined tower. That 3-in-1 Castle can be a great city gate or a section of a wall. The Hobbit set with the tree has a great big rock slab, and the tree is good as a center piece of a forest scene.
Thank you. The book is one of the “Book of Battle Mats” by Loke. Specifically these are the Towns & Taverns as well as Wilderness. I used them a lot before switching to LEGO.
Currently just getting started and doing microscale to save money, Loved seeing the micro scale techniques getting used alongside the full minifig scale dnd builds! Would love to see a video based on microscale/re-using the heroica sets. Super inspiring as always, and I love that chain bridge!
I use the "orcs"(?) form Heroica as Goblins a lot. Sometimes with swarm mechanics to make it easier to handle. I think you can reuse a lot from microscale if you ever want to scale up. But I get very much starting with micro scale. That's why I got the heroica sets.
You have completely inspired me! Within the past week, I received my first ever PAB order and we to town on making that modular grid terrain. So cool and fun, and perfect for display as well. I’ve built modular buildings, scatter, and walls for my grid map, and it looks incredible. Thanks so much for all the videos, it’s really inspired me to dive into Lego. I’m definitely looking forward to the elevation video! On your last video, that 2 tier map looks AMAZING. Would love to know how you do that one as well.
wow that sound very cool! Buildings is something I haven't realy come around to doing yet. I just uploaded the elevation video. Should go live in 15 min. Hope you like that as well 😊
I love your channel! This has inspired my kids and I to build scatter, etc. for our DND game. I am surprised you used the 2x2 jumper plate for the stools. I feel like the pose-ability of minifigs is something special. With modifications, they minifigs could sit down.
That's so true! I honestly didn't think about that as my players mostly stand while on the maps. A regular 2x2 would probably work fine for NPCs that you want staying on the stools. Do you have a suggestion for if you would want to be able to move them on and off more easily?
If you are lucky some parent is desolving a childs collection when they move out and don't know what they have 😅 I wish you the best luck and good catches for your search!!! Edit: What are you planing on building first, by the way?
I would love to do that. I'm on vacation next week so I'll have more time to work on something like this. Can you share what Monsters exactly you would like to see built? That would help me get started, as the Monster Manual is quite vast 😅
@@critbrick There are two types so far. The carrot top pieces for "fresh" fields which can be moved through normally and propper wheat fields made from bars and connectors which are difficult terain for the first in line. The nice thing is since it's Lego it`s easy to remove so the players can draw paths through the fields.
Let's do this next. Why not. I've been procrastinating this for some time. 😅 What 2-3 Monsters would you like to see first? (Idealy they would have a common theme.)
@@critbrick Hey man! LOL. We all procrastinate sometimes 😂. This is a hard question but I can give some suggestions Dungeons and Mountains: 1- Basilisk (I had already asked for this) 2 - Chimera 3 - Aboleth ( is not much of dungeons, but is underdark 4- Grick (Sorry for this fourth and fifth but in the Dungeons I have many monsters that I would like 🙃) 5 - Gibbering Mouther Well, thanks for the awesome videos and I look forward to the monster video. Sorry again for the quantity. Kkkk
Well, taking advantage of my last comment I would also suggest that you put instructions of the monsters (can be in the Rebrickable or make a tutorial on the video itself) so people like me can make the creatures in our own homes.
I'm not at the moment. For mental health reasons I deinstalled all socials besides TH-cam 🫣 But maybe I shoudl posts the maps. I think I will start with the Community Tab on TH-cam. Where would you prefere to see me posting?
@@critbrick YT is great, I'm in the same boat - I just avoid the other platforms unless I'm looking for something specific, but it's very novel. YT shorts could be a great way for you to do it! That would be my preference at least.. If the interest is there, then you'll know people might want a longer in-depth video on your game maps
Holy sht. I had them from my childhood collection (mostly from the wild west theme). I wasn't aware that they are this expensive. I thought it was worth mentioning that lego has premade stuff but in that case I would just build everything from scratch. More fun, looks better, is cheaper. 🫠
This is easily my favorite channel right now. Excellent work getting people inspired!
It makes me very happy to read that! I'm so excited about Lego + D&D my self, so I it's great to have others inspired as well 😇
100% agree

Not only DnD, but for basically all Interactive settings and Games. Lots of Good Inspiration
Thanks so much! And great to hear that you get inspired!
So true! What games are you using Lego for at the moment?

Hello, was just wondering where you got that notebook with all the maps from. Fire video as always! Hope to use Lego in my own campaign!

@@critbrick Thank you, might buy it!
Awesome scatter video that really gets the creative juices flowing! I love the little elevation tiles and shrubbery/rocks especially!
Thanks for leaving a comment again! Glad to have you along for the ride 😅

@@critbrick "Modified 2x2 Tiles with Studs" (#33909) seems like a good piece for the tops of the stools. There are quite a few colors.
Yet another quality video. Look forward to these every week now :P
So happy that you like them. Great to have you here!!
I‘d love to see something on enemies, specifically more advanced ones that are not just skeletons for example
Alright. Let's tackle this then. Can you tell me what 2-3 Monsters would you like to see first? Maybe a theme they would fit?
I’d say like a Minotaur , an big octopus or like a manticore (some of my favorite monsters to use)
Amazing stuff, as always!
Thanks so much.
Thanks for the video! Awesome inspiration.
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!!
You are an inspiration, dude! Can't wait to start once I aquire the pieces from fleamarkets 😄

Edit: What are you planing on building first, by the way?
Yes! Great video!
Ooh nice spooky trees, great for a cemetery (invested by a necromancer maybe?)
Exactly! I am still waiting for my players to go there. I've planed a little murder mystery / puzzles for that place 😇
Simple stuff, but really well done. I've been enjoying these videos a lot. Great inspiration.
Thanks a lot! Honestly the simple stuff is what I use the most. 🤓
I recently did some features for a cave map; some stalagmites and such. Very easy to make.
That sounds awesome. How high did you do them? I can imagine that they give a great vibe to a map!
Looking forward to the elevation video! Thank you for making this one.
Just uploaded it. Will go live in about 8 min. 😇
Great video! Can we maybe get a tutorial on how to build some common monsters?
I would love to do that. I'm on vacation next week so I'll have more time to work on something like this. Can you share what Monsters exactly you would like to see built? That would help me get started, as the Monster Manual is quite vast 😅
I'll sure as anything use those trees as reference. Also I'm currently working on crop fields.
uh that sounds awesome! How are you going about the crops? Will players be able to move through them?

Will you make video showcase about your vintage castle sets? I see in your background Black Knight's Castle
I haven't thought about that yet. What would you like to hear/see about that?

What’s the flashing around your neck great video mate
The mic. I’m recording sound externally with a DJI Mic. 🤓
Those large barrels and tree stumps are probably $5 a pop, more if you want new.
