Hey everyone! Thanks for watching my reaction to CARS! See you on Friday for FINDING NEMO! I will be spreading out the next 2 CARS movies over the next few weeks!
My daughter was completely obsessed with this movie when she was little - I watched it with her 2-3 times per day, EVERY.single.day. for years. She had a little stuffed Lightning McQueen that she carried everywhere with her, even to the first day of kindergarten. She's long since grown out of it (but the little Lightning McQueen now lives in the back of my closet, because I can't bare to part with it), but it will always have a special place in my heart
You don’t see cats like Cal, Bobby or Franchesco as hated rivals of lightning because they have the same love for racing as he does. Chick hicks and Jackson Storm don’t have that love of racing.
Lightning McQueens character is soooo good! You literally are suppose to hate him at the beginning and then you absolutely love him by the end. BIG PROPS to the writers of this excellent movie.
@@hunterlawrence3573 Definitely. As well as Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. You literally hate Zuko at first, but over time, he redeems himself and people love him.
I agree! I love him so much 💗, he is literally my favourite character in the triquel (I don't know how to spell it), and my favourite protagonist ever!
In the words of the Nostalgia Critic: "This movie is why he'scemented as a great actor. Not because this a great performance but because all great actors have to die what with their last movies being lightyears beneath their talent."
Seeing Strip actively try to prevent Chick from catching up to Lightning out of sheer respect always made me tear up a bit. He finally found a successor for Dinoco, but of course Chick had to ruin it out of spite.
I honestly loved how Chick was like, "WTF?!" when Lightning started driving backwards. The look on Chick's face was hilarious 🤣 And Chick totally deserved all that booing and getting stuff thrown at him. Lightning and Mater's friendship is so wholesome too.
I actually cried in this movie during the "our town" scene in which it is shown how radiator springs was in the past - did you also get emotional with this? I actually love it the most when the movie comes to the emotional beats
I didn’t cry in that scene, but I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy that scene, let alone the whole entire series as a whole. Yes, I even enjoyed the second one. I consider that one as my guilty pleasure animated movie. Don’t judge me.
Me personally I didn't cry at any point in the actual movie. Just teared up at a couple of moments like Sally saying goodbye to McQueen before the race. But for whatever reason when the credits rolled and the song "Find Yourself" played I felt like I got hit by a truck of emotions from just sheer nostalgia (no pun intended lmao) and that's what actually made me cry. I grew up with this movie more than any other as a 4 year old kid. I watched it at least 10 times so far I wanna say. It just resonates with me so much and I ain't ashamed to admit that. I can confidentially say that Cars is my favourite pixar movie, it just means so much to me.
What I like most about this movie is when Lightning McQueen goes from arrogant to being humble. Especially when he decides to use his fame to put Radiator Springs back on the map. Plus, I also like the romance between him and Sally
What, not even “They had one movie they couldn’t stretch to feature length so the inserted a Mater Toon short, stretched that one out and pasted them together with glue”?
Doc Hudson was played by Paul Newman, famous actor known for roles such as 'Butch Cassidya nd the Sundance Kid', 'The Sting', 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof', 'The Hustler', and was famous for being possibly the handsomest man in Hollywood history, known especially for his blue eyes which old age couldn't take from him. He loved car racing so it makes sense he'd be a former champion racer.
Fact: The voice of the King, Richard Petty was a real Nascar racer in real life. Not only that, Pixar designed the King to look like the car Petty raced in real life as well it had the number 43. Also, he crashed in real life too in 1970
I was a huge NASCAR fan as a kid, so when Cars came out I absolutely loved it and for a time it was my favorite Pixar film. So I was surprised to learn later that it wasn't nearly as well received as a lot of Pixar's other films.
Being a grandmother, I'm often told of new movies that the kids are watching. Every movie that they watch often is watched hundreds of times before they latch on to another one and the cycle repeats itself, until a new one comes out. This one I've watched with them and loved it. Grandkids have made me watch Planes and Planes: Fire and Rescue. Of course, they grab you and at one point brings tears to your eyes. You must watch and react to them. Another one that I've had to watch with them is Ferdinand. That one too will captivate you too.
This franchise became THE Disney franchise for little boys' back when it released, and I feel like that left a bad taste in many peoples' mouths?? But it has so much to it that I don't think most of those people realize. 😭 It is madly and truly a love letter to its themes and worlds. I'm a lover of old roadside America, so maybe I'm biased lol. But being in the fandom has made me see just how much love went into this world (and yeah, it doesn't always make sense even to us. XDD But it is FUN.) Several IRL racers voice and cameo as characters and they don't ever stop that. Also, Doc is voiced by Paul Newman - a classic actor who was a heartthrob back in the day, actually raced for a short time, and is the face and name behind the Newman's Own brand. :DD (AND YES, NEMO NEXT!! 💖)
I will always have super fond memories of Cars. It was brother's favorite movie for YEARS so we watched it so many times. While I'm not the biggest fan of Cars 2 and will admit that I haven't seen Cars 3 I understand what happened between 1 and 2 that required them to literally rewrite the movie was both gut-wrenching and not something they could- or would've wanted to- anticipate happening to one of their crew members.
Now this is my childhood right here and yup the Tractor Tipping was my fav scene besides the first race and Mater going backwards i also really took that life lesson to heart
Fun fact: The scene where McQueen drove past that train was cut from the theatrical release but was put back into the for the DVD release and has stuck around since then.
As some one that grew up watching NASCAR it was a blast hearing all the same casters (Bob Costas and Darrell Waltrip) and Richard Petty (King), Schumacher, Mario Andretti.
That pixar and thx intro… i miss my childhood, one of the best disney movies ever, and amazing games they’ve made too, love just driving around radiator springs and beyond.
Little information about some of the cars: the king was based off of Richard Perry’s Superbird. Doc Hudson was based off the the Hudson Hornet which demolished nascar in the 50s. And the Ferrari at the end was based off of F1 7 time world champion Michael Schumacher who was driving for Ferrari at the time.
Filled with real Nascar and racing legends. The king was voiced by the real king, Richard petty, who drove the same car, doc Hudson voiced by Paul newman, the Ferrari at the end Michael Schumacher
Hey, cody please react to hunchback of notre dame and prince of Egypt. They are one of the most underrated gems of animation world. I would really appreciate if you are able to do so. Love from India 🇮🇳
AHHHHH you did my favourite film! Cars is such an underrated gem. Yeah yeah it's not Toy Story or The Incredibles but it's a very fun, enjoyable, heartfelt and solid film and I think the message holds up very well, especially in today's world with everything being so fast-paced. You have to slow down and enjoy life, appreciate the small things and don't let your past defeats define you. I know these all sound simple but they're some of the hardest things to accomplish in life. In my opinion, it's one of Pixar's better films, not it's worst. I could go on and on about Cars all day so I'll stop XD I loved watching your reaction and I might have to check out your full-length one too! Loving your channel so far and good luck with your future endeavours!
Cars has been one of my favorite movies ever since I was two and a half. We still own the same DVD we had then. I've probably seen a thousand times, no exaggeration. Will always be an amazing movie.😁
I loved this franchise it was hands down one of my favs as a kid. I hope you love the series. The second movie feels like it should have its own name though and not be apart of the rest. You will understand when you watch.
If they were humans, Chick would probably lose his driver's license for life and probably go to jail for the amount of people he crashes into. But since they're living cars they obviously can't, so what would the charges be? He's purposely endangering the lives of his fellow race cars by making them crash, so would he be charged with Assault, Attempted murder, or just simple reckless driving? 🤔
Then there was racers like Dale Earnhardt who did what he had to on the track to get his win... why he was called "The Intimidator" Theres been plenty of incidents of racers wreaking someone on purpose 😂
Fun facts the person who does the voice of the Ferrari at the end is actually Michael Schumacher, also the Hudson hornet was a real car back in the 50's (i think) and the accident really happened leaving the car to retirement and it went to a museum.
I can't believe I came back to this movie and understood so many adult jokes that flew by my head as a kid. My favourite one is probably when Mia and Tia flashed McQueen lmao 🤣
and just in case you weren't aware of it, but Richard Petty, the actual King of NASCAR, did the voice for his famous 43 car, as did Dale Ernhardt Jr. did the voice for his 8 car.
Fun fact: Hudson Hornet is a real car and the crash based on a true story:") *edit: here is the link for the hudson hornet true story: th-cam.com/video/AfD_YtnAQho/w-d-xo.html
I love this movie. It's funny, I was so not impressed when I heard Larry the Cable Guy was voicing a character, but Mater turned out to be one of my favorites. Of the trilogy, I feel this is by far the best, the third one is decent, and the second one would have been great as one of the five-minute " Mater's Tall Tales" ( which I highly recommend checking out), but didn't work well as a full-length movie. I'll get more into why if/when you review it.
The folks of Radiator Springs didn’t like Lightning McQueen at first because he was being arrogant but Mater still liked him because he was being his best friend, and by the time McQueen finally softened his behavior and the Radiator Springs cars started liking him, and when they discovered he was a race car, they were sad to see him leave town to go to the race in California because they were just starting to like him, mostly Sally, and they blamed Doc Hudson for calling the members of the race?
I’m surprised we didn’t get to see Cody’s reactions during the bloopers, especially when they were doing car parodies of some of Pixar’s previous films.
Fun fact: This isn’t the first Pixar movie that Dinoco was seen. In the first Toy Story movie where Woody and Buzz had that fight and then left behind by Andy and his mom, they were actually at a gas station called “Dinoco”.

Now 2021 I'm 21 Years Old (I was Born in 2000) and, Disney Cars is One of My Favorite Disney Cartoon... this Movie is Collaboration Disney and Pixar, and Interestingly, this is the First Disney Pixar Movie where All the Characters are in the Form of Transportation (No Humans) Very Nostalgic this Movie👍👍👍
i always found the choice of owen wilson as lightning to be super strange. like, lightning is supposed to be this up and coming kid, and owen wilson was in his late 30's when the movie released and he has always given off an "old-timer" vibe, at least to me. but then again, i'm swedish and the swedish voice actor for lightning was 34 when the movie came out and i find his voice to match lightning's personality better, so maybe owen was just miscast without age being a factor
Movie suggestion of the day: Disney/Pixar Planes and planes:Fire and rescue. There both my favorite movies. And there the same as cars but with planes.

Greetings from Indonesia🇮🇩. Now 2021 I'm 21 Years Old (I was Born in 2000) and, Disney Cars is One of My Favorite Disney Cartoon... this Movie is Collaboration Disney and Pixar, and Interestingly, this is the First Disney Pixar Movie where All the Characters are in the Form of Transportation (No Humans)
Very Nostalgic this Movie👍👍👍
U don’t always need a perfect friend, the best thing about having a different friend is that they care about you and your feelings
i always found the choice of owen wilson as lightning to be super strange. like, lightning is supposed to be this up and coming kid, and owen wilson was in his late 30's when the movie released and he has always given off an "old-timer" vibe, at least to me. but then again, i'm swedish and the swedish voice actor for lightning was 34 when the movie came out and i find his voice to match lightning's personality better, so maybe owen was just miscast without age being a factor
8:53 WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY FIELD?!?! What I think Frank would say
Movie suggestion of the day: Disney/Pixar Planes and planes:Fire and rescue.
There both my favorite movies. And there the same as cars but with planes.
