You can just tell that when team SRW saw Prince of Darkness they said "lets try that again but good this time". Yet another reason to love this francize.
I'm sure the real reason is because much like Endless Waltz , it's plot can easily be plonked into a game and makes a good filler series than can either be wrapped up within a few stages or expanded to last a good chunk of the game depending on how they need it. That and Ruri is the most popular character so she gets to have more spotlight.
I’m surprised people don’t mention this but the reason why the Prince of Darkness film is the way it is is because it takes place after the events of the Sega Saturn game which took place after the events of the series, with the film assuming that you’ve played said game in order to understand the story. Problem is though, the Sega Saturn game was never translated or brought over to the states. So unless you by some chance have seen a fan translated walkthrough of the game, which is highly unlikely because I haven’t found a single one, you will not get the story at all.
As someone who has watched Gundam X, it’s one of my top three Gundam series along with IBO and 00, I’m always happy when someone acknowledges what it has accomplished even with the all the bullshit that has happened it production wise. Please watch, it needs the love.

Plus X had really good commentary on relying on “specials” aka Newtypes or whatever name they went by in others series to fix your problems. Garrod was just a guy thrust into a situation where needed to grow in order to overcome the challenges he faced. This is kinda I can’t like Seed. That show relies so much on Coordinators doing everything. While I understand the central conflict of the story, they fact Coordinators are shown to be so much better than Naturals makes me wonder the future of that world goes. Cause if a C can do a job better than a N, why hire the end. Why have Ns be in any position if there are Cs that are better for it. When you start thinking about, it wouldn’t take long for a conflict that is the inverse of the main to pop up. Cause if you are naturally better (no pun intended) why shouldn’t you have the higher position? It is kinda scary to think how fast that kind of thought process can spread in that world. Well, I'm glad Gundam 00 is getting the attention deserves since it was my first Gundam and it got me probably into Anime. On UC one of the issues with that, a lot of writers missed the point that Zeon Vs Federation is meant to be Japan vs its more violent past since Gundam, or at least UC made by Tommio is meant argument against Fascism over time the Federation got turned into a Flanderization of itself as writers treat it as Allies V Japan in world war two because Japan has an issue with Right-wing nationalism at least writing actually good mostly. On the Prince of Darkness first I saw of the series personally it was the first thing I saw of the show after getting induced via SRW I saw the show after I enjoyed both personally The Brave series only watched GAO GAI GAR but I want to watch the rest of them. Full Metal Panic I really enjoyed that show honestly it was a bad choice for V or at least where they put it honestly I would put the story during 00 season 1 that's just me. That is, I enjoyed the video hope to see more.
Man, Jaspion and the other Sheriffs should get added to a main SRW game. After Gavan showed up in the mobile game I became obsessed with the idea. They’d be amazing. Ultraman Z, Sevenger, and Windom as well.
Thing is while I tend to be harsh towards certain AU Gundam and I tend to favor UC Gundam that doesn't man that I don't like any AU Gundam. In fact I count 00 to be among my favorite AU Gundam alongside with Turn A and IBO. It's just that my favorite Gundam series Zeta just happens to be from UC timeline as are 08th MS Team, 0083 Stardust Memory and Unicorn. And yeah, X is fantastic and worth watching even if just for Garrod's and Tifa's relationship. It's so underrated among all Gundam series.
Well the new types power only work on other new types and it relatively new in the world. Uc my favorite gundam is a series that makes a note of new types and how they exist

Honestly, having just seen a whole Debacle on twitter about Another UC series that's present in this game, I gotta agree hard on the Newtype stuff. I didn't think too much about it at first, since my main introduction to newtypes outside the general rundown was in X, so they've never seemed special to me. But in almost every early UC entry, especially in the more recent ones, Newtypes are made into a 'Higher being' that can perform miraculous events. And whilst those moments can be cool... it's pointless. It doesn't matter if Amuro stopped the Meteor falling onto earth. It doesn't matter if Judau manages to defeat Haman. It doesn't Matter if Laplace is revealed or destroyed. We already know what happens - The fighting will *never* end. It doesn't matter how the battles with Zeon went down, because New wars happened anyway. 'Newtype Powers' changed *nothing* *at* *all,* save maybe giving the factions cooler toys to murder each other with. Judau Ashta remains the smartest person in the Universal Century for Leaving the entire solar system behind forever. All that being said, I don't think it's as bad in these games, since there's just so many more relevant regular people that it goes back to Gundam X's 'Newtype powers are only a talent, it's what you do with them that's important'. But realising that has also made me want to see some of the Non UC timelines more.
I don't entirely disagree wit you, but the reveal of Laplace did actualy more less put a stop to the Feddies vs Zeon for good. Mainly because Mineva used it as an opportunity to publicly put the final nail in Zeon's coffin (which to her credit was probably the right thing to do). Everything after that was between the Feds and groups who had nothing to do with Zeon.

Newtypes have the ability to share and transmit feelings amongst each other it wouldn't change an person ideology just because the feelings are shared. 8th MS team ad a comparison has both principal character send large amounts of time together to build their understanding.

While yes, Full Metal Panic's story wasnt properly adapted into this game, as it only adapts the non anime novels at the time in a bit of a rush and only just happens to bring back the previous antagonists as fodder; both of the Z3 games spent a lot of time adapting it even down to the filler episodes. They had just spent two games retelling the story of FMP, they had no reason to do it again so soon. There were newcomers like Yamato and Cross Ange who needed the spotlight more.
The tone of prince of darkness doesn't seem that far off from the original to me and also for some reason people think that yurika dies in it when they save her at the end. I have also watched most of the directors work and enjoyed it so maybe I am just biased.

Way I see it S1 is Wing but better executed while S2 is basically remake of Zeta.
