    I've seen a lot of people show dislike for the safe features. The funny thing is no one wants to mention the PUBLIC SAFETY it can provide besides just protecting the plane.

    I've been flying for over 10 years and always bind with SAFE Select to a switch. Why not? The jets can be a bit of a handful and my first 6s jet was the twin 80mm Freewing F-14 (I know lol... but I survived!!) There were a few times it got so far away from me that I almost lost it. That's where SAFE would have been nice to have. This 6s Blue Angel is my 2nd 6s EDF jet but due to SAFE select I enjoy it a lot more! I can switch it on for casual flying and switch it off for the aerobatics. I love it. The only time I "need" it is if I fly too far and since I'm still new-ish to jets that very easy to do...

    Man I am going to save up for THIS! I have seen them perform almost every year of my life, so It would be an honor to fly this. Also, no trimming! That’s E-Flite’s quality for you! I do wish that they came out with a Tomcat though. Maybe a twin 64.
    [EDIT] December 2021, E-Flite DID come out with a Tomcat, a twin 40mm.

    Great sounding and looking jet. The secret with SAFE turns is adding rudder. Rudder will bring those turns in much more.

    • @Sabotage_Labs
      @Sabotage_Labs 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reducing gain and priority! Try it out! Can turn the F16 on a dime even in safe.

  • @MrJdsenior
    @MrJdsenior 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can see several scenarios where even a very advanced pilot might want safe mode, even beyond the ones you stated. I was standing next to my friend one day, while he was 'learning' from a check out guy first time at an organized local RC field. He said my rudders stuck hard over, what do I do? The checker, "I don't know". Me "cross it up, opposite aileron and slip it in". Worked a charm. One of those instances I was talking about, if the safe system is smart enough to handle something like that, and you have no idea how to save it.

    So awesome!! Haven't flown my FW blue angels 90mm yet cuz I'm waiting to put SAFE in it, as I still use SAFE to land my Eflite F16 and A-10, but would this eflite one be an easier one to fly than the 90mm for me since I'm not quite as experienced with jets? I do fly off pavement so the gear shouldn't be a huge issue I don't think

    I find that on certain planes with SAFE (like most EDF jets, wings and warbirds) that when flying with SAFE ON, turn rates to high and it increases bank angle and shortens loop. I mostly fly in low rates so need to remember to flip switch to high when flying with SAFE on. It helps but still no comparison to full unlimited controls.

    • @Sabotage_Labs
      @Sabotage_Labs 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can adjust the gain and priority for all 3 axis with bluetooth (mobil app isn't very good) cable or USB (PC app is so much better). Priority is like expo. If you reduce it to like 40-60 is doesn't fight you as much. I can turn the Eflite 70mm EDF on a dime. Wings will go 90° high without getting into a roll. Try it out. You'll like it much better!

    On paper it looks like a lazy release.
    In the air it looks so good!

    Move the battery forward and the tail won't wash out as much in tight turns. It's a little tougher at takeoff but flying is much better imo

    This is unequivocally next in my list. Question, are far as stability how would you compare this E-flite 80mm F-18 with the Freewing F-4D Phantom II High Performance 90mm? I think the new versions now have the same 4000g (8.8) thrust

    Were you aware that the E-Flite F-18 Hornet recommended c.g. is 70 mm to 78 mm and the E-Flite Blue Angles Hornet recommended c.g. is 85 mm plus or minus 5 mm ??? Did Horizon post a product up date on this huge change in center of gravity ??

      I’d go with the info related to the blue angel since it’s the newest

    Would you fly this pilot Ryan on a 6S 4000?
