I saw him paint, on TV, some 30 years ago. I'll never forget. He was sitting in the forest with the paper loose on the ground painting fast and irregular, occasionally dipping the brush in a puddle. I didn't think one could paint watercolour like that. Ever since he's one of my absolute favourites.
    Great series!

Lars Lerins paintings are fantastic, but I also love his spirit, his soul and his love for the old swedish lifestyle, his love for our beautiful swedish nature, his love for animals, his passion how he create the beautiful contrast between the light and the darkness. You feel all this in his paintings. I love Lars! ❤️

06.59 Lars often lets reflections from windows become a part of his masterpieces. I think so even here. Look for reflections from windows in other of his paintings. Its fantastic!

He lived in Lofoten in Norway a big part of his earlier years so I think many of the snowy motives are from there

I didn’t know about Lars Lerin; fantastic artist! I’m from Canada so these icy landscapes with cold clear atmosphere are not unfamiliar to me. Love this series and your entire channel, Liron. Thank you for sharing!

colors and lights are in a way natural in Nordic countries in winter and those summer pictures. To me these are really realistic when living in Finland. How he does these and capture the mood, lights and the pure darkness in winter i don't know. Amazing artist!

I understand that is dificult to conect with a painting when u are not accustomed (or experienced?) winter and low sun that makes the light and colors different. He depict animals that are displayed in Museums. The most famous is the one with the birds. You should search the song "Vintersaga" and put the automatic translation on. It captures some of the winter mind of Sweden.

Lars did a lot of wood block printing, that deep blue painting with the houses was probably made with that technique, maybe in combination with watercolor. Also, a lot of the landscape motives are from Lofoten in North of Norway

Oh, he is from a little spot, just 30 km from where I grew up, but I never met him. I Hope I can visit the gallery he and his partner own. He have had a group of students with disabilities, it has been sent on Swedish television. It started as a project, I don’t know if there will another season, but I think so. I have a book with him, written by him and it’s about some of his art. That plaza is from Karlstad and it’s the biggest town in that area. He shows many big pieces, I really don’t know how wide they are, but approximately 5 meters and 2 meter high.

Shalom, to you dear Liron! Yes, we admire Lars Lerin´s artistic watercolor works very much, and he as a person is very humble and friendly! This painting is from the north area of Norway, called Lofoten, with an Arctic fox that turns white during the winter snow season, and because of the Gulf Stream, the sea will never freeze in and around Lofoten a very special and beautiful peninsula with high fells or mountains and long narrow fiords carved by ancient glaciers! The weather conditions are due to the Golf stream very dramatic also with mile-wide scenery with sunlight spots and then also very dark parts shadowed by the thick clouds pouring rain! I am very thrilled to listen to your analysis of this excellent watercolor painting! Wishing you all the very Best and Shalom blessings! Please stay safe, dear Liron! Best Regards from the homeland of Lars Lerin, Sweden!

I think the water in the last one is a long thin bay and is part of the Atlantic Sea in the long run, but first it gets down to Skagerrak->North Sea ->Norwegian Sea -Antlatic Sea.

He likes to work with a collagemethod. If something doesn't work he evan can cut it out and cover it with a paper. He was speaking yesterday in " Storkyrkan" in Old town in Stockholm. Unfortunatelly it was fullybook. Free tickets. And I had to work. But he is little bit like a watercolor rockstar :-) I started with watercolor in august from mostly been working with oil and acrylic. But now I'm hooked. I try and I try :-)

Great video. Thank you for expanding our viewpoint. We have an remarkable watercolour artist here in Canada. If you like ocean views, rocky costs and sailing ships Poppy Balser work will make your heart soar with delight. They are so dynamic and expressive with just enough realism to make it seem like you can smell the salt in the ocean breeze.

Lars is personally one of my favorit watercolour artist, he has released around 70 books full of watercolour paintings.
Andrew Wyeth is /was another great artist working in kind of same manor as Lars, with depictions of a time past and how people on the countryside once lived

    Hi Liron.
I am.not sure if its just my imagination. At 2.56 on this video, there are seemingly two cauliflowers to the right above the animal. One below the other. The one on top looks like an animal and the one below like an elephant. Look closely.
May be its just my hyperactive imagination.

As a fellow artist, and personal opinion, Lars is a great artist! His work shows that but. I judge my work, and others, by thinking, would i buy that? Would I want that in my house? To me, His drawings look rather depressing, and gloomy. "Dark moody colors and atmospheres. Great compositions, super detail are there. Id rather by a painting that uplifts me!.tTO EACH HIS OWN!
