Protip: if you really want to play GT:NH (or any technical modpack, really), SERIOUSLY, go rent a Linux VPS for $8 a month and run the server there. Use the included chunk loading mods to enable the chunks where your base lives, and boom, no need to leave your PC on--let your VPS host pay the electric bill. Even my lowly Omnifactory playthrough would've been a lot more frustrating if I didn't run the server on my VPS. And if you're playing one of these packs with friends, it's practically a requirement. (And if you're intimidated by the idea because you don't know Linux...come ON, you're playing Gregtech. Learning to run a Minecraft server on a Linux VPS is trivial by comparison.)
Took a call full of engineering students a few hours to get the server working with all the Java conflicts and custom mods we wanted... That's when I realized that the game had already started...
Was a nice remix of random music tracks and the gameplay in the background was also very nice to watch. The quiet voice in the background also had something :)

GT:NH really strange to me. It looks like a Expert modpack, but essentially it not trying to challenge your skill. No matter of you knowledges game force you to wait very long time for resources production or, looks like, just slaps insane grind requirements. GT:NH just feels like those open world games, that don't fill they open world with activities and you just mindlessly walking around in empty areas for long until you will find at least something interesting.
thats not true you can always do something else while waiting for another thing to finish and you can speed up the wait in most cases by simply overclocking the machines or fixing bottlenecks and if thats not possible simply make more of it

Hell I start over before I ever make it too Rocket. I been playing GTNH for 6+ Years and never once launched a Rocket, but played 1000's and 1000's of hours. That has to be a record for failure lol
It's really simple you see, you just have to start playing gtnh irl to make yourself a time compressor machine and use it to complete stargate in minecraft faster, this is what GTNH devs intended

somehow i started living a live, which means i am no longer able to play greg that much (so i won't beat gtnh lol) however, i am now gregifying stuff irl. not gonna give up the gregification mindset and lifestyle
I really like this package. But to play it it's good to have some other task at hand and leave Minecraft with the machines working in the background. Some collab between GregTech and Immersive Engineering would be amazing - machines as complicated as GT but looking and sounding as cool as IE. With the cables from gazillions of metals. And with some RLCraft touch...
