He never had the intention of staying faithful. It's not like he got married, bored or made up some other excuse "my wife doesn't understand me" b.s., he NEVER had the intention... why get married? I don't understand it! If you want to fool around don't get married or marry the type of person who wants an open relationship not someone who is committing to you 100% when you can't even give 10%!
She was 18 and he was 28 when they got together. Not that it makes it okay in any shape, form, or fashion, but 18 is TOO young to decide that you want this person forever.

Do you know what police sketch artists know that most don't? There are only so many forehead, nose, mouth, ears, hair color and eye spacing combinations out there. EVERY baby, looks like 90% of the parent X in their life, it has to be a glaringly obvious difference that throws shade and even then genetics can throw a curve ball whammy now and then, a great, great, great aunt on in-laws side of family might had bright red hair and kid has it too, even though both parents are brown or blonde etc. "Looks like" = "0 proof"
