I like you Ms. A. You not only know the subject but have that natural way of teaching. Congratulations!

LOL, first saw you on Donut, been a tech for 20+ years but just switched to teaching a shop class and making lesson plans has been difficult! I've definitely borrowed portions of your lectures, had my students watch some of your videos, and watched them myself while taking notes to develop lectures! Thanks, you have made my life considerably easier, I'm not sure what I'd have done otherwise!

Thank you for the lecture. Very useful and understandable.

You totally taught my something about oil viscosity. Guess the Army was behind the times on multi-viscosity… and I certainly didn’t think the “W” meant “winter”.
And you said this was a “crappy TH-cam channel”… C’mooooooon…

35:20 My owner's manual calls for 5W-30 oil, but says that 0W-30 or 10W-30 is acceptable, depending upon environmental conditions. There's such minimal difference in kinematic viscosity from 0W to 10W, and it's only a factor until the engine warms up. The high-temperature viscosity grade is what's protecting your engine for the majority of its operating hours, and is therefore more important.
42:16 I would never switch a vehicle from synthetic to conventional oil under any circumstances. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to top off your oil than have to deal with the drawbacks of conventional oil such as increased friction, heat, and oil breakdown. The longer oil change intervals and gas money saved on running synthetic oil will more than pay for the difference in oil price. If changing your oil grade isn't enough to manage your oil consumption, you've got bigger problems to worry about.

Today most cars use low friction rings so when your car is brand new, it already uses oil , Toyota and Honda two of the best made cars and they use oil because of the low friction range

I don't understand why, when a vehicle has excessive oil consumption, your recommendation is to jump both viscosities and not just the hot viscosity. It makes sense to change the hot viscousity because engine will burn oil when the oil is hot, and not when the oil is cold. A cold oil will not be burn. Another problem is that 10w-40 is usually not fully synthetic.

Can I put Parts Plus 5w30 full synthetic in my shadow 750?

Is your engine oil shared with your primary drive?
