Love the podcast but about Lewis regretting going to Ferrari, the terms of the contract guarantee are crucial. Mercedes only offering a 1-year deal seems to be what matters and if Ferrari sucks, at least he will be in a team that wanted him.

You’re right about the British fans who actually attend Silverstone being more heavily pro Lando than pro Lewis. It was the same last year. It is the United States where Lewis’s popularity far outstrips any other driver. At all the US races the cheers are loudest for Lewis (and Checo).

Everyone assuming Lando will be a multiple champion everywhere, when you got clutch killers like Verstappen Ham, Leclerc Sainz Alonzo and Russel on the grid. I don't think he has the mental toughness of Max or Lewis to take it all the way consistently.
I would remove Russell and Sainz from that list and instead add Piastri.
@@rensvanderploeg1945 Piastri needs seasoning with tire management, he's on average firmly behind Lando in full races, originally i wanted to mention him with Kimi as future sharks for Lando to compete with for titles. I don't see him win a WDC unless McLaren has a car that is heads above the rest.

Lando's trajectory reminds me of Nigel Mansell. He will be WDC one day, but he's going to experience a fair bit of 'bad luck' before then.

Whether bad luck or poor craft, Lando has the attitude of a champion and he'll get there soon enough. Everyone makes mistakes under pressure, but he immediately recognizes his mistakes, understands why they happened, and takes the blame himself. We're watching a young hotshot learn what it takes to be WDC.
Before you write off Norris, compare him to guys like Sargeant or Stroll who are either too forgiving of their errors, or are completely oblivious and incapable of taking responsibility. Or even Sainz and Russell, who are highly skilled but often reluctant to accept blame.
Lando is the real deal, he just needs a little more time to mature. Keep an eye on Yuki too- another rising star with a similar hard-on-himself attitude who's learning how to succeed.

They didn't want to do team orders in Britain but I don't remember them having a problem back in Australia. Tells you all you wanted to know about McLaren.
Leclerc was given wrong weather information ("expect heavy rain now"), so he decided to pit for inters, vs. Sainz was told "reducing in intensity". Then Vasseur lied and said both were given the same information 🙃
Sainz was given the "expect heavy rain" info, he just didn't decide to come in. and charles would've been given the "reducing in intensity" info but it was just too late at that point because he had already came in.
29:01 ferrari and Mercedes had the same strategy to go onto inters, lewis straight away said no while charles not having the feel for car and rain went onto inters, so its clear the difference maker was lewis

And Sauber in Switzerland. Haas has their head quarter in US though, but I guess Dallara is in Italy (but they have presence in US as well).

My take is that RB is using Checo to try things before changing anything mid race for Max, having the McLarens and the Mercedes now too close, they rather focus un winning drivers championship and sacrificing constructors... and that's where Checo's sponsors come in play.

I love that you guys are Charles fans but you managed to point out that Carlos is a driver who can kind of “fix” the messes Ferrari makes (within limit). This is why i love this podcast, you guys have your faves but you have good knowledge and points about everyone involved.
Contrary to what Americans believe, F1 is a sport of engineers. It would be ideal that al drivers where clones so it would really be about the car and the strategy, that's what you guys can't assimilate.
You're right about the fans this year. Not sure why but this year was probably the worst atmosphere I've seen at Silverstone in my years of going. I was shocked how many would leave once the F1 sessions were over. In the past there would be loads still watching F2, F3 ect. I can only assume the high ticket prices have priced out the "real" fans.
You're right about Lando being the more popular now. Going back to '21 and before majority of LH fans. The crowd has changed massively in that time I assume due to DTS? I heard many who were not LH fans say there didn't really like him but were pleased for his win but having only been fans since '21 so only really know Lando and George
