@harrymann5523 The law is already on the books, bro, but a bigger question is why are the Republicans trying so hard to PREVENT US citizens from being able to vote? Narrowing the window, voiding registration if they haven't voted in the last election, just one excuse after the other. As far as I am concerned even felons should be able to vote. They can't vote out the prison pardon, but they have as much of a stake in presidents, mayor's, congressman and whatever else. They may have a 1/300 millionth of a say, but so do I.
It should be a crime if a government official acts to deprive a person of their right to vote AS MUCH as one who helps someone who is not a citizen to vote.

I've been a permanent resident in this country for 35 years and have never been allowed to vote. I've worked and paid taxes the entire time and have accepted that I cannot vote. I would be so angry if, all of a sudden, illegal immigrants are allowed to vote. There are approximately 13M legal permanent residents living in this country and approximately 10M undocumented that could have a significant impact on the outcome of an election, if allowed to vote! If you want to vote, then you should become a citizen!!

That’s why this is so important. Non- citizens have been voting. That is wrong.
It is important because states and locals have been trying to push it. If you go to USA.gov under "who cannot vote?" It states a non citizen cannot vote in "most local elections". But google NYC elections non citizens and you will see NYC has been trying this for years. District of Columbia, Oakland & San Francisco allow them to vote in "local elections only". 1996 federal law says rhey cannot vote in federal elections yet there is nothing saying they cannot vote in state or locals. 7 states prohibit non citizens from voting.
With the mail in ballots last yead i could n vote for Biden again and again and again ,while it take two weeks to count

I've lived in several different states, registered to vote and I ALWAYS have had to show official state ID (DL or non driving ID) to vote.
Evidently that's not the case in other states.
You don't have to be a citizen to get a DL. PROOF OF ClTlZENSHIP is what needs to be done.

I voted for years in California, and we had to show ID to vote. No one ever said anything about it, and there were plenty of immigrants turned citizens in line to vote.
You cannot apply for welfare benefits or social security without picture ID and your social security card.

Everything has an agenda. Yes, only American citizens should vote, but we need to find out what the agenda is behind this. They can say that it's to make sure that only Americans can vote, no one is gonna go against that statement, but what is the agenda behind it? Because I have a feeling that somehow this is gonna end up disenfranchising a big segment of the population, American citizens. But doing that takes work, research, time, etc. It's better to be part of the herd and agree with a pretty title without taking into consideration who will be affected by this.
