4 out of the 5 guest who jumped in line were teenaged kids who hopped over ropes to catch up with their party. It very well could have been due to the new DAS rules but from what I saw I don’t think it was.
That group may not be affected by the new DAS rules, but who knows? I don't "look" disabled, but standing in a line that long isn't am option for me anymore. It's going to happen more and more because Disney can't fathom even the most obvious of unintended consequences.
I’ve noticed the same thing lately, and I do not think it is related to DAS but rather a change in unspoken etiquette across the generations. A lot of entitlement in all age groups at times, which I think its due to the cost of a Disney trip. Witnessed some really concerning behaviors this summer. This is our place of escape. Am starting to get concerned.
Everytime I have come over to the USA since the 90’s there have always been big families line jumping. I would say that its never been lone kids. Without saying anything that could be deemed offensive I will say maybe its a cultural thing as the same groups do it at the Paris parks too.
I had a "great" line cutting experience In the queue for Jungle cruise, woman in front of me told me that several more people would be joining her. I just sighed but a Cast member overheard her and when it was "her" turn to board the CM pulled her and her party to the side and ushered me on the boat 😂 best day ever
THAT'S How Disney is supposed to be. At least if it's not like one kid and adult (impromptu bathroom break etc). I would understand that but when it's 3+ people I would not think that's acceptable. My husband and I don't even feel right having one of us break off for that reason but sometimes it happens.
Walt would hate everything their doing. I consider myself a junior historian. I've been going to the park in Anaheim starting in the 60s and started collecting old Disney memorabilia 40 years ago and in that collection I have about 200 books on the parks, artists and Walt himself. I met his daughter Diane in 2012 the year before she died and chatted with her. Believe me when I say Walt would not be happy!
@@ari3lz3ppI don’t even think twice about letting a parent and a child or two back in line after having to go to the bathroom or something like that. I’d even be fine with holding a place for a stranger if they needed to go to the bathroom. But like one person holding a spot for a whole crowd of people? Nah
Seeing all the garbage everywhere is the worst thing to me. It just shows how little they care. Once upon a time there is no possible way that trash would have ever been found all over the ground or overflowing from trash cans. It just didn’t exist in. I’m disgusted with the line cutting as well. It seems the disney company has truly given up. It’s heart breaking.
There are can 12-15 feet apart. No company should have to remind people to be decent citizens & use them. Why do people always think "staff" should clean up after them after they throw something on the ground.
Disney has treated its OWN BRAND with Disdain... Disney apologizes for cartoons 60 years old, and alters them, erases them, even though they were beloved. When the company demonstrates that it hates itself, all the customers will hate it too. Disney will never get its customer base back. Today's younger kids have zero sentiment for Disney cartoons because Disney itself doesn't appreciate those old characters. Disney hasn't made any attempt to give value to those cherished figures to today's youth. Disney wants to be a gambling company. Why would any kid revere Disney now?

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Wait… line cutting happens at UO as well?? I’m confused. I’ll have to go back and check for the videos telling people not to go to parks bc of line cutting and trash (that’s not on the grounds at UO either). Crazy.
@@bhouse5 Oh yes it happens. It's so frustrating. It's the classic I have to catch up with my party line cutting. IDK how anyone thinks this is okay to do. It's completely inexcusable and disrespectful to the others around you. I know it's an extra cost but it would be nice to see more CM throughout the line to watch for these sort of things. I wouldn't envy being that CM but it would be helpful to guests. Even just have a WDW security people throughout the line or something.
I'm confused. How is saving someone's place in line really that bad? How is it cutting exactly? Why have your entite party wait in line when one person can and how does that change your wait time?
@@catalyst6313 Why is it fair for everyone else to wait 60 minutes in line and then someone just be able to go in front of them just because they couldn't join at the time their party entered the line? It's not right. It definitely changes the wait time. If even 2 or 3 groups of people do this you could be waiting an extra 30 minutes in line. Or say there's weather coming or something like that and now you could potentially not get on the attraction whereas if you were able to not have people cut in front of you then you could have gotten on. This adds up through out the day and it just pisses you off. If you think it's okay then I'm sorry but you're part of the problem. Do you like it when people cut in front of you at a stop light? You might have to wait an extra light cycle now. After a while that pisses you off doesn't it? Same concept.
@@ducktails1695 an extra 30 mins??? I dont think so. Think about it. What's the difference? 5 people get in line in front of you at the start of the line or... 2 people do and 3 people join those 2 people later in line. It doesn't change anything for you. It isn't cutting. Cutting is when someone jumps the line when someone they know isn't saving their place which yes I am VERY against that.
Its not understaffing, its hour cutting. Current CM here and part timers are literally not getting scheduled and full timers are only getting 32hrs with no OT approval. Disney HAS the staff, they just arent utilizing them. And its definitely showing.
They hire based on DEI and it shows, people hired for DEI vs their merit and their respectful attitudes etc are going to be entitled brats and won't want to actually put the work in
to donttouchmyramen That falls under understaffing. Same at Universal. I wish someone would investigate and report. Seems as if the park management can crow about how many jobs they create in order to receive favorable tax deals, but don't tell the press that some "jobs" are 1 or 2 days a week even though the employee is begging for more.
Thank you so so much for calling out the line cutting- That just infuriates me, I understand if there's an accommodation for the guests being met, but if people are just being selfish- that's not okay.
When I was there this time last year, we were in line for Flight of Passage (everyone knows how long that wait always is) when the lady in front of me got a call, then a few minutes later started motioning her hand…next thing you know, not 1 or 2 people joined her…but SEVEN!!! I almost blew a gasket!! I did lean in close and told her how rude that was for everyone who’s been waiting the entire time.
We just got back yesterday from our Disney World vacation and I can relate to all of what you said. We saw two women walk all the way through a line, acting like they were trying to meet someone, but really just cutting. Keep in mind this was a 60 minute wait for all of us. I really wanted to find them again and get them kicked out! I saw a lot of trash as well, but I don't blame Disney for that. People are getting more and more inconsiderate! We saw people on the monorail eating popcorn, letting a good amount just fall to the ground or on the chair, and then when they got off they left their trash in the seat! I saw tons of other examples of people just dropping trash when they're two steps from a trash can. Another frustrating thing is these people with e-cigarettes. They wouldn't even try to hid the huge puff of smoke. I did some angry glaring at most of em, but no cast member was ever near to notify. People suck nowadays...
It is disheartening to see the decline of society at Disney World. It was always a place where people either guests or workers "tried" to be better...I think that was the magic people keep mentioning....
@@codeen66I can’t blame him, look at what Universal has been doing that past few years vs. what Disney has. Disney really hasn’t been giving him, or most people honestly, any reason to get excited, and most of their projects have been completely lackluster lately.
@@louisianimal24 IDK I just feel its all subjective. Flight of Passage, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ratatouille adventure, Galaxys Edge, Runaway Railway, Tianas Bayou Adventure have all been great additions in the past 7 years or so. Its fair to point out the negatives, but also the positives.
We are Disney fans in our family. My oldest son lives in Hawaii. He and his family just spent 7 full days in Tokyo Disneyland. He said by far Tokyo Disneyland was the best Disney experience he and his family has had. From prices, ride quality-animatronics, cast member interaction and cleanliness it dominated Disneyland California and Walt Disney World, hands down. He said, "We are getting ripped off in US based Disney attractions.
I've heard this from almost any person I've ever spoken with concerning that park! It also looks FAR more interesting than anything the company has done in the States for a while now.
We are. Also Tokyo isn't WOKE. They seem to be not giving into DEI at least not as hard as we are here. CA is worse than FL for that reason. We'll see how badly Iger can ruin Disney this time. Stocks went down as soon as he got voted in again. If he really didn't want to do the job he would've stayed away. He's being incentivised from Soros and similar to implement DEI. He's a greedy liar and cares not for the brand nor the most loyal Disney fans.
Yeah watching the videos Tokyo Disney does seem to be the superior park, the cleanliness, the attractions, Tokyo Disney Sea, the characters, the merch, the food, the architecture yeah they are doing something right there and the American park leaders need to pay attention or go study Tokyo cause I know a different company other then Disney runs it but they are running it right!
I agree with the line cutting. We were in line for seven dwarfs when a fight practically broke out as the people refuse to let the line cutters pass. Very embarrassing and scary situation when standing there with my 6-year-old granddaughter.
It's one thing if you or your child needs to leave the line for a trip to the toilet. I don't mind letting those people back in. It's a whole other thing when people want to catch up to a friend further up the line. If those folks want to ride together, the people up the line can join their friends further back. I understand that guests get mad at line jumpers. Disney should address this with the jumpers before other folks take matters into their own hands.
How is that queue cutting when their friends or family are up the line? I usually say “excuse me” to people and meet my party. I still waited that amount of time before I got in line. You guys are trivial. Obviously if the person going up the line has no party call them out but other than that that’s not line cutting.
I was a long time annual pass holder who has not been to any Disney parks in almost six years and it is sad to see how much the quality has fallen. I am eagerly waiting for Epic Universe. I will always have the memories of well over 100 disney trips.
I suspect that Disney, like everywhere else, is under staffed. I also think that people are just trashier now than they used to be. This trashiness isn't just littering. It's in the way people behave. The way they dress, speak and regard rules and common courtesy is far less respectful than it once was. How do we turn this around?
Absolutely…started being an issue about 5 years ago, but has become exponentially worse over the past couple of years. Disney Cruise Lines is the only place where you can still see any Disney excellence. Probably because the prices are so high….
Agree. It's been happening for close to 15 years now. You will always have exceptions, but I'm a big believer that it starts with parents. Because of that I don't think we can turn it around. Social media is raising kids and it seems like a down hill path.
@@nonya13 The old exceptional customer service and pleasant manner I encountered with Disney always made me want to improve my own manners and respect for others. Now, I hope that I can pass that same experience onto and solicit the same reaction from others. It's hard to overcome bad parenting and social pressure but, I try to model a better way and encourage young people when they do the right thing.
Disney is definitely understaffed. This is why things like the reservation system still exists for AP's, some things are no longer available, some perks aren't available anymore, trash cans are full longer, etc, etc. I'm not sure why they're understaffed whether it's just they think they can scrape by on what they have, or people just won't wanna work for WDW anymore, maybe a combination of both? What may not help is Universal will or maybe is already in the process of hiring for Epic Universe which will require Universal to hire around 12,000 people to open the park next year. I wouldn't be surprised if some CM's made the jump to work at Epic Universe, or even the current parks if TM's from the current parks transfer over to Epic. Sure Universal's pay is $1/hr less for a bottom line position, but maybe its worth it to some in the end if it's a better experience.
I grew up in the late 70s and 80s, and my father worked at the Magic Kingdom as an electrician, I have so many good memories at the Magic Kingdom as a kid, before they got all corporate. They used to treat their employees and their family so well. Employees at Disney used to get tickets to the park bi monthly, so me and my siblings grew up at the Disney parks. They used to have Christmas parties, where for one day and night, they would close the park down to the public, and host all the employees and their families for a big Christmas party at the Magic Kingdom. It was wonderful and a great memory. They would never do that today
@@jesusortiz8666 yeah as a young kid in the 80s, it seemed. Like a bunch of people to me, but, back then they only had Epcot and Magic Kingdom, the only water park they had was River Country. The whole thing was a lot smaller.
Just came back from a week at Tokyo Disneyland and Disney sea. They still have the magic. The price of admission, food, drinks all were very reasonable. It was clean. The employees were very friendly and helpful. It’s what I believe Walt would have envisioned.
I didn't take it that he was blaming Disney for the trash being there. The line cutting plus the trash is just a lower standards of people visiting the parks.
I still love Disney and will keep going BUT I absolutely value what Dev has to say and his opinions. He is by far the most honest vlogger when it comes to Disney.
We went recently and noticed a difference for sure. There is an obvious decline in staff appearance and cleanliness of the parks. We hadn't been in about 15 years and back then I remember being so impressed by how clean everything was despite the crowds. Staff could be seen cleaning everywhere.
I have heard lately how dirty the parks are. I remember when they would pride themselves on how very clean they kept the parks. Disney Parks just keeps declining.
Dev cutting the line has been one of my biggest pet peeves for years. Cast members don't care to do anything. I know it's not their fault and they can't see everything. However, the worst day for me was several years ago. We were at buzz and a young man was in the line in front of us and started waving at family. And when I tell you a family of 10 cut through the line and pushed us all back. People were pissed. I've noticed people sometimes wait in line and invite heaps of their family to get in the line. There has been so many times I've seen cutters push back the line. And with that happening it also contributes to wait times. It sucks because nothing will ever done for it. I understand people getting upset about it. Imagine you're almost to the front and bam here come a family of 8 . It sucks
What gets me is the nerve and absolute shamelessness of these people. No way I could "excuse me" and push past all those people!! The most disheartening things is that they don't seem phased by it. We're in a really bad state when sociopathy, narcissism, and rudeness is commonplace - everything will continue to degrade. I don't know if the country can PSA their way out of this societal decline.
“WE HAVE HEARD YOU DISNEY FANS, AND WERE GOING BACK TO HOW THINGS WERE IN 2015” would be “EPIC” words to start D23 with. The spirit of Disney just seems dead to me.. it use to be full of life!
Thing is, even if they did say that, I wouldn’t believe them. They’ve lied about so many things that they’re doing or not doing that when I watch D23, I’m assuming that everything they say is just a fluke. I’ll believe it when I actually see it happening.
I can only imagine what next year and the year after are going to look like. Epic Universe is going to crush Disney. No one saw that coming 15 years ago
The only way Disney will get fixed is when management is fixed. The problem is that Disney has lost its magic and the Imagineers that made that happen. A lot of them have moved to Universal, and you can definitely tell by how Epic universe is looking. It's turning into Walt's vision of what he wanted Disney to be.
The only real way things get fixed is when people stop going. No people, no revenue, then the management presumably gets replaced. More likely, however, they'd like just fire more staff to keep getting paid themselves.
@tagjohnson9940 We haven't been to Disney in years. Universal is absolutely killing them right now. To us, Disney is dead since they want to worry more about Disney Plus than putting effort and money back into the parks. I mean, just look at the joke Tiana and Communicore Hall are.
I always appreciate your honest comments. One of the bragging points of Disney when it opened was how clean it was, and it is a huge disappointment that the law and order of line jumping, trash thrown on the ground . . .It's a huge disappointment. I appreciate you saying it out loud. Keep doing what you're doing
We have been avid Disney fans for years. Since Disney has gone off the rails, and charge. extra for a different line, cut costs in many other places (food etc.), etc., we have no interest in returning. Our last trip there was not great. In my opinion, about 75% of the magic is just gone. I really enjoy your honesty, and your views. You tell it like it is! Always enjoy your videos….☺
Totally agree, over here now and used to love Disney. We didn't enjoy any of the parks now, still like a stroll around Epcot but that's it. Love Universal so will stick to that now.
The fact that so much trash is visible in the parks and resorts is unacceptable. It used to be someone dropped a pop orn kernel and a cast member was practically picking it up right after. Perhaps Disney can pay their cast members decent living wages so they can retain staff. The company has abandoned the parks.
I will pay the ticket prices; I understand that, but it's the food prices that kill me! Why is the food at theme parks so darn expensive? It's out of control.
They keep fudging the economic data. I work as a contractor and I have a small fortune in the market. Believe me it's not all peaches and creme right now. I think we will do better when the fed starts slashing rates if that ever happens.
I thought based on the title of your video that some rides broke down or food was spoiled but your video made me actually want to go to Hollywood studios, you highlighted the main benefit it's not crowded right now. I'm probably not going to notice random trash on the floor and if someone tried cutting me in line I'd make it known that they were cutting the line.
Yeah it's like walking around hell being at DHS. I'm surprised the devil doesn't stroll by every once in a while. Soooooo hot!!!! I always go in the evening to try and avoid this, but I realize I'm an AP whereas people on vacation need to make the most of their vacation while they're there and don't really have this luxury.
My whole family has always been a Disney family. We would go to the parks every year and buy all the merchandise. The Disney magic we love and miss has been gone for some time now. We dont want to go back to the parks as its best to remember when there was still magic.
@@derek81222 Imagine thinking this is the reason. It's simply the leadership doesn't care. All corporations get complacent after a while. A crux of all empires.
Thanks for not sugar coating anything. If it wasn't for having an AP I probably would stay away. But my hubby said we need to get our $$ out of my pass
I don’t think the trash in the park is solely lack of staff. People here are just messy and inconsiderate. Ties in with line cutting. The arrogance in America is very real. And that’s why traveling to international parks is becoming more popular. 😢
I was there with my family this year on vacation. People were cutting the line one after another. Finally my wife and I said something, only to be condescended to by a cast member, and then his manager. They told us that it was acceptable and Disney supports families riding together. What a bunch of crap. I stood in line WITH my family the entire time.
It is no surprise to me of the decline of Disney. America is declining and people are no longer considerate of others, they are rude and just displaying bad behavior. So many fights breaking out at the parks. People have lost their ability to be thoughtful and civil. You can see this anywhere when out and about. SAD!
@@playedout148 Why are you laughing? If someone was rude to you or your family, what would you do or say to them? Just wondering about your weird response. Not sure what I said that was actually funny but rather more concerning about the way people behave these days.
The Acolyte. a perfect example of why Disney is failing. Attack the fans, poor writing and directing, contradicts not only established lore, but even lore in the Acolyre show itself. No concept of distance etc. I have been a life long fan of Disney until recently. Now, i will never go to a Disney park (save Tokyo) or spend another dollar on their merch after proof of racism/sexism in the company justified by being "inclusive". The lack of writing talent shows with the dismal show ratings, and 1 movie in recent memory did well, which used to be the inverse; used to be odd if a bad movie.
It’s so sad but this is what happens to all businesses. When Disney was just young it was the dream of Walt. Today we have a ceo who is more interested in his salary and his political agenda.
Not really. It’s pretty easy. And I can’t tell you the last time I couldn’t get a resi I wanted. It’s certainly not as easy as just walking up anywhere/anytime… but it’s pretty close
@@bhouse5 That's the thing though....if we never have any issues getting a reservation right now then the system doesn't need to exist in the first place. That being said, I've actually gone to MK before on a Saturday and thought I had a reservation and didn't, and the reservations for MK were gone so I had to go to Epcot, tap in, leave and go back to MK to enter. It's so stupid and all it did was waste an hour of my time. Is this the guest experience WDW wants to create? It's very frustrating and it just makes you not wanna go if this keeps happening. I still did go to MK that day however so it's not like it was 1 less guest in the park. It's 2024 and WDW has had 4 years to get their shit together with operations. @@ducktails1695absolutely right! I cannot fathom why they think that they need this reservation system at all anymore. I was standing in line at Toy Story Mania when a large group of guys tried to push by me. I am a fairly small guy at 6'4" and 265 lbs. I said no you are not getting by. They said their party was ahead of us and they were in the bathroom. I said really bathrooms. I asked them if they always went to the bathroom in a group of five. They turned to go back to the end and a big cheer came from behind me.
Hey Deb I completely agree skipping the line is not right at all but as a parent with a child who has special needs she qualified for dad but we are told the rest of the group must wait in line and contact us when they are close to getting on to the ride which we haven’t done bc we feel bad and want to avoid cutting in line specially to avoid a possible conflict with other parkgoers we are not happy at all with how everything is going and is making us rethinking Disney
I never understood why they don't have staff monitoring the line cutting We went years ago during COVID and there was still line cutting It's so frustrating to stand there for an hour and then watch people join a party in front of you that had two people in it and now there's 13 people in front of you I'm sorry you either stand there for the hour or you don't ride!
Disney is HORRIBLE with the line cutting! People need to meet their group at the end of the line. Drives me crazy. The only acceptable reason is for a little one who had to use the bathroom- not a whole family cutting to meet up with one person.
Except that Disney themselves is forcing this on disabled guests. WIth the recent DAS changes, the are forcing the vast majority to utilize th "return to queue" option -- which to many guests looks like line cutting, but it isn't. People who need to leave or to wait elsewhere, are being forced to catch up with a member or two or their party toward the end of the line. Everyone hates it.
@bobsaget8540 You tell Disney that they need to escort people. I'm telling you.what they are telling disabled guests to do as part of their requests for accommodation if they need to leave a line. Get back to me when you understand what's actually happening and what you think should happen. 🙄 It's a massive disaster right now at the expense of disabled guests and their families. Did you know they are telling people to leave their children, alone, in line to hold places... as young as 7... even though Disney policy says they need to be 14? It's literally one hand nit knowing what the other is doing.
Honestly Hollywood studious is my least favorite park out of the 4 and to think before they added Toy Story and Star Wars you could do the whole park in 3 hours…..
Summers have been dying for at least 20 years but Disney is doing it's best to make more and more people stay away, continuing the reservations, its 115 in the shade and only one waterpark open,Animal Kingdom closing at 6pm,not enough investing in the parks and generally taking too long to build new attractions, going to the paid Genie+/Lightning lanes to skip lines,etc....Its amazing how they added the Star Wars and Toy Story areas to DHS and that park has a double problem, first,so many areas like the launch bay courtyard are like in a state of limbo, you ask yourself what's happening in that area and how long will it stay in that state, also the park needs to bring back more of a studios vibe, some way somehow, just adding new IP based lands gives the park a kind of identity crisis, the park has had two major additions and yet feels like it needs so many more areas and attractions added or redone which is crazy!
I understand your frustration. We've overlooked all the changes and controversies for years. We recently had to cancel our APs because of the DAS pass changes. I'm a disabled veteran and can't go without it. Could you do a video on the DAS changes? Thanks for always speaking the truth 💜
Dev keep doing what you’re doing. Disney is not the same especially in park maintenance and cleanliness. It’s obvious by just walking the parks. Great video.
Disney is becoming a road side attraction. It's no longer a place where dreams come true anymore. Far from it. It's now a place where depression and hopelessness comes true.
It was supposed to be a way to have an “adventure” for people who couldn’t afford to see the world. People are nuts to vacation in a corporate theme park when you can spend the same money and visit just about any place in the world.
We’ve been home for a week from WDW…long time Disney parks lover. It breaks my heart to wholeheartedly agree with you! Soooo much line cutting and dirty parks. Will I be back? YES! Will it still make me sad to see the condition of the parks? Yes! Thanks for the honest video!
The creativity unfortunately died off with Walt's contemporaries. The younger creators are talented with the computer graphics, but there was such a gap between the older and younger sets. The older creators really didn't get the chance to pass down their wisdom.
A lot of creatives left under the Bob Chapek regime (Joe Rhode "retired"). However, I understand Joe Rhode has come back to train and mentor the current, younger, creatives. Thats a good thing. 🙂

My family are AP holders at both Disney and UO. Are you suggesting that there is no trash on the ground or line cutting that happens at UO and it’s uniquely a Disney issue? If so…. Your experiences are MUCH different than ours.
@@bhouse5 There will always be trash on the ground at a park. It's just that how much there is and how long it stays there. How full are the trash cans? Because of the change in the disability rules, people that have invisible disabilities and can't stand for very long will be a larger percentage of people jumping the line now. I know that the parks are trying to reduce the abuses of the previous disability passes, but they created a different (and arguably worse) problem.
@@emmapinter8075 there is usually a merge point where express or fast pass is blended into the regular queue. That’s why this is particularly frustrating because TMs can’t be everywhere and it’s hard to prove once it’s happened. My point is to not get into a fight over it and get termed from the park. Also, remember these people are barely making above minimum wage to deal with the brunt of frustration so kindness and understanding go a long way. Explain what happened and if there’s anything the TM can do to help.
Hi - again - another spot on video. I agree with you 100% on the atmosphere. Question - how can the total disrespectful people in the park be fixed? Unfortunately it seems like this is a societal problem. What happened to manners? I was raised to respect others, which means doing the right thing even when it puts you behind someone else. Seems like the solution has to come from within each of us. If we as a society refuse to respect others our fun times will have to be found in other places . Sad to say.
The line jumping is a big issue. I know it's not the same, but this problem is so bad at 6 flags CA. I refused to go back, spend hours in line (back in the day) just to have mobs of people push passed me. I hope disney doesn't allow it continue.
You said it all with your comment about wanting Disney to be what it was before 2020. I completely agree. It has changed so much and not for the better. I have wonderful memories prior to 2020 but not so much since then. I don't even go anymore and I used to be a annual passholder. It's very sad to know those days are gone forever.
Appreciate you and your content and for showing how it really is. There has been a severe decline in quality over the years for sure. ( look at all those shuttered places in the park!) We are going to Orlando in the fall, and we are not even going to WDW. The price tag is simply too high and frankly you can't do much on the fly anymore. We're spending our whole vacation at Universal. And this is coming from someone that has been going every year since the 1970s and got married at the wedding pavillion.
Outstanding installment today. Thanks Dev. The most distressing ( to me), is the garbage all over the park. Disney is probably understaffing to cut costs, but probably hurting themselves more. What set Disney apart from other entertainment venues was it’s spotless parks. Keep up the great work!
All of Disney’s problems, are self-inflicted. As long as Iger remains in charge, and as long as the DEI mandates remain, they will continue to slide into the abyss. Fortunately, Universal suffers no such foolishness. My Florida vacation is now 5 days Universal, 1 day Disney. The complete opposite. Disney’s fatal mistake with Galaxy’s Edge, was not creating Tattooine, and featuring the CLASSIC characters. I no longer buy Star Wars toys, or ANY Disney related toys or merchandise. Once you become apathetic to something, you rarely, if ever, go back.
I don't think it's the inclusivity directives are to blame. It's the lack in respect for Imagineers and stockholder's money demands. They pushed the older Imagineers out and Iger's "everything must be connected to IP" stance that has really diminished creativity and put Imagineers into a very small box. Stockholders just have gotten ridiculously greedy with their demands and don't really want to invest in anything new or hospitality/cast member wise (especially after the pandemic). Inclusivity is important to an extent. The changing of classic Disney movies and attractions along with all of the live action retellings is just too much and I say this as a Native woman that loves Peter Pan. My mom took the time to explain the Native scenes and why we don't need to be offended by everything. She saw the movie as a child (Per Pan was her favorite book) and didn't understand why the Natives looked so strange. People going to the parks are well versed in what the attractions are all about and have a choice to go on the attraction or not. I just wonder if this issue was being brought to the company by the public or comes from within the company. My guess is the call is coming from inside the house. Sorry for the novel.
I love Dev. There are other vloggers that give you the truth Disney doesn't want to put money in their parks to keep them up. Walt would not be pleased.
I absolutely love your honesty.. I love your videos and your knowledge. Some people just can’t handle the truth. I would prefer someone doing an honest review instead of me going on vacation and not getting what I expected. Thank you for the honesty! Keep it up.
I can say back in 2007 during MK Christmas Party I dropped a cookie on the floor, and before I could even grab a napkin to scoop it up, a cast member had already saw it and discarded it. I do definitely notice more garbage laying around that doesn't even look like it wad just left there either
I’ve heard a rumor that Disney is considering the Launch Bay area (building and behind- all the way back to Rockin Rollercoaster) to build a huge soundstage that has a Villains themed land inside it. This way the land can stay “dark” at all times. That would be cool and would transition nicely from Little Mermaid. I would think they have to move Disney Junior but I think that would fit better over in the Echo Lake area.
Disney is broken and they did it to themselves. It’s summer so it has always been hot in Orlando and that never kept the crowds away. Bob Iger and the entire board of directors should resign. If and when they prioritize entertainment and stay out of politics, the crowds will return.
I don't think people are not visiting Disney because of politics. I don't really see the connection there. It's more like Disney is too expensive and it's just not worth the cost for what you're getting in return. Genie+ has killed the guest experience so Disney can fill their bank account $20-30/person at a time everyday. People don't like being nickeled and dimed around every corner when they already paid a lot of money to get there and experience the park in the first place. The other thing I see is that people are just not vacationing as much right now. I think a lot of people spent their money towards the end of 2021-early 2023 and just cannot afford to vacation right now. You take this along with the increased pricing to go on a WDW vacation and well people are just either not going on vacation, or finding something closer and cheaper. A WDW vacation for a family of 4 can easily push $4,000-7,000 depending on where they're coming from, now long they're staying, where they're staying, and what they're doing during their stay.
@@ducktails1695it’s everything. Not just politics, not just overpricing, not just parks being understaffed, etc it’s all of that combined that has put a bad taste in people’s mouths. I grew up in California taking annual trips to Disneyland with my family for vacation so I for sure love Disney and the parks. That being said I can’t justify planning a trip to go with a lot of the incentives gone or still offered but now with a price tag. Disney’s stance in political and moral matters has only added fuel to the fire. They made the mistake as an entertainment company dipping their toes into politics, social justice matters and the like which now has people turning their heads elsewhere for vacations. I currently look to the beach, the mountains and potentially a future cruise to fill that vacation void.
@@wbr9401 Here's the correlation, but I don't think it's a cause and effect: The problem isn't with Disney - the problem is that there are some politicians who are angry that Disney values the LGBTQ community and these politicians have enacted policies to punish Disney. I don't believe that there are that many people who are boycotting Disney because of their inclusiveness, so I agree that politics is probably not a reason for the current attendance.
If Disney covered the parks in air conditioned domes, lowered the prices, fixed the bad food on offer, and dropped all the confusing ticketing reservations and lightening lines and stuff then i might go again 6:30 . Ive been over thirty times. Its really becoming lackluster. They are too corporate and about their profits now. The magic is gone
Love it that you are honest how things are. I hate it also when people cut in and the way live is now you cannot speak up because you do not know what the other person may do to you.
The line cutting has been out of hand at every park (Universal,SeaWorld). There is always at least 3 people that cut the line every time it is getting out of hand. Me and my family used to do that all the time but now I feel guilty doing it because it is kinda unfair. If you wanna go on a ride just stay with your family. It’s not that hard. Disney has to step up with their maintenance. If people want a fifth park then they should fix their current parks before even thinking about it. I think I have seen it at every park were effects aren’t working in some rides or it is getting worn out. Like at SeaWorld the screen on top of mako wasn’t working or the lighting especially was really dark in them. Even the screen in orca encounter was having its glitches. Freaking soarin broke down in the middle of the ride. FREAKING SOARIN BROKE DOWN. I don’t know what the hell is going on with theme parks right now.
I appreciate your honesty. We are locals, over in Polk Co. We are APs to Universal and SeaWorld. We let our Disney APs lapse in 2020 and never repurchased. We went to MNSSHP most years but that was about it for the Disney parks. We are about to buy Pixie Passes, mainly because we have plans to move out of state in early 2025, so we figured this was our last year to really have the opportunity to be local passholders. However, videos like yours have kept us from swaying the repurchase of our passes in the past because it just looked like it was missing so much (and we have just LOVED Universal since the post-pandemic times).
I like your hundred percent honesty and I know you truly love Disney and the parks but you have to keep it real especially for them to hear it so they can actually do something about it. As far as being dirty, I have to be honest you will never find Disneyland that dirty
Went last year as huge west coast Disney fans. We liked Universal so much better. Their fast pass setup alone made it better. You aren’t wrong Dev. It’s a shame
5:42 you’re whole commentary here is EXACTLY my same thoughts . I don’t hate Disney . I love it . That’s why I get so frustrated with where it is now !
Totally agree with everything you said. I was in Magic Kingdom last week and was shocked at how dirty it was. I love Disney, but it’s definitely not the same Disney it used to be.
We were there on vacation from June 2-8, in the parks June 3-7. The lines were not long. The parks were not crowded at all. We only purchased Genie+ two days and could have not purchased and been fine. But it did help us get on every ride we wanted. The only long line was for Remi's, and even at Early Magic Hours we waited a little over an hour to ride. Everything g else we basically walked on.
Thanks for keeping it real! I can't stand when people act like shrinkflation and lack of facility care aren't a huge issue right now. The portions and prices for food and bev is out of control and we felt taken advantage of. We are fully aware of what we are getting as AP during festivals etc but since 2021 has been going downhill each month. Wow $19.50 for a drink is insane even at a theme park.
Disney is priced for Florida residents. By the time other states pay for traveling, hotels, tickets food and memorable merchandise you can't afford it. So, it makes sense that the parks are empty.
Definitely 💯 agreed FL residents by comparison I looked up. They almost get 50% off room rates where for instance us in Ohio maybe get 20% off at the most.
Thank you for always being so real. As someone who grew up going to the parks and then taking my kids to the parks with season passes, I miss the old pre-covid Disney. 😢We don’t go there at all anymore recently, we’ve been going to Universal parks and have been very happy there now.
I have no interest in going to either Disney park anymore. However, my partner still loves Disney and likes to go at least once a year, so I will continue to go. Sucks to see how hard they’ve fallen while having the audacity to continue to raise prices. Just looking forward to Epic Universe now!
Hello. It is so sad to hear how Disney has fallen. They keep on increasing prices, just because some people unfortunately keep on paying what they say.
Love your honesty. We first went to Disney 2005 and was amazing. The fast passes, cleanliness and absolute happiness was fantastic. We last went 2021 and nope. Hate the new way to get fast passes and the magic has gone. Universal all the way! Very sad and we hope they get that magic back ❤🎉
4 out of the 5 guest who jumped in line were teenaged kids who hopped over ropes to catch up with their party. It very well could have been due to the new DAS rules but from what I saw I don’t think it was.
I honestly think that disney lost everything and its done after the mans passing so its done and not worth it
That group may not be affected by the new DAS rules, but who knows?
@@popcrash1974cultural thing such as 🤔🤔🤔 cause I’ve seen it from all races, creed and colors 🤷🏽🤷🏽
I had a "great" line cutting experience
In the queue for Jungle cruise, woman in front of me told me that several more people would be joining her.
Why don’t you ask her for her friends to join BEHIND you?
Nah
@@bethbarnhill7849Absolutely, don’t get in line until EVERYONE in your party is ready! 😊
Agree. We were there last week and I was shocked at the amount of trash and how dirty the park was.
@@Wintckthat’s terrible! Cleanliness IS one of the biggest pluses there
There are can 12-15 feet apart. No company should have to remind people to be decent citizens & use them. Why do people always think "staff" should clean up after them after they throw something on the ground.
It’s weird we blame the park for customers bad behavior.
Corporate bosses have destroyed this company. I will never go back with the prices they’re charging, who does these people think they are.
They tried to run it like a McDonald’s and appease shareholders. They forgot that the way to the money is to bring in the crowds.
No, far left activists running the company have destroyed Disney.
When they came under attack and were unappreciated by the governor, it seems things started going downhill. 🤷♀️
It started long before that. @@ceoa

Former attractions member from Universal. Line cutting is the WORST. It is also hard to observe the line or keep track of what’s happening. If I did see it happen while I was working, I would tell the group either you have to start at the end of the line and the person further ahead can get out of line and join you or have to start at the end of the line and wait for your person further ahead. You can absolutely be banned from the park for line jumping.
Also, if you as a guest see it happening, please let a team member know. Don’t try to confront it yourself.
Part timer here too. Literally getting 7 hours a week. I went 3 weeks with zero hours. People can’t pay their rent.
They hire based on DEI and it shows, people hired for DEI vs their merit and their respectful attitudes etc are going to be entitled brats and won't want to actually put the work in
I wonder if they’re using the DCP CMs instead? Lower wage, isn’t it?
@@ari3lz3ppwild to comment that racist shit on this channel of all places.
to donttouchmyramen That falls under understaffing.
At least your being real. Some Disney bloggers just are blinded and can’t see past how bad things are getting.

Oh they see it too. But there refuse to put that on camera and just pretend that everything is wonderful.
I thought only brazilians did that 😅
I blocked them on FOP
I wonder too if it's because they are charging such insane prices to get in that people feel entitled to do whatever they want.
Also the cast members are mostly DEI hires it seems. So they feel entitled to not work.
Thanks again Dev Your the only vlogger that’s truly genuine and never sugarcoat things with your feedback on Disney and universal
@@codeen66I can’t blame him, look at what Universal has been doing that past few years vs. what Disney has. Disney really hasn’t been giving him, or most people honestly, any reason to get excited, and most of their projects have been completely lackluster lately.

Tokyo Disney is so beyond amazing and is what Disney World used to be.
Tokyo Disney is not run by Disney. The Oriental Land Company licensed Disney IP. They're a better Disney than Disney.
Everything gets infinitely scarier when you’re talking about people who have paid to get in that line and feel like they’re being ripped off.
@@fourlittlebirds6166 I think everyone feels ripped off by line jumpers.
Good, so they should block queue cutters.
"Anoime" - a sense of aimlessness or despair that arises when we can no longer reasonably expect life to be predictable.
To be fair in the 70s and 80s, there was a lot less people
@@jesusortiz8666 yeah as a young kid in the 80s, it seemed.
It’s funny when people blame Disney for not picking up the trash fast enough, but say nothing about the pigs that do the littering.
Walt especially wanted a CLEAN park too.

It can't be because they are people of color, could it?
“WE HAVE HEARD YOU DISNEY FANS, AND WERE GOING BACK TO HOW THINGS WERE IN 2015” would be “EPIC” words to start D23 with. The spirit of Disney just seems dead to me.. it use to be full of life!
That’s funny you say that because my family’s first trip was in 2015 and it was magical!! Next trip in 2022 not as good, but not bad. Now??? 😢
Agree! Our family feels the same. 3k-5k we usually spend on a Disney vacation we now spend elsewhere.
Agree. Last visit was 2022. It really felt different and less magic. Just felt nickel and dimed to death.
WDW got rid of 32,000 cast members in 2020/2021... that is the problem!
The economy is in a down trend and Disney is way to expensive. Nobody wants to pay these prices anymore.
I will pay the ticket prices; I understand that, but it's the food prices that kill me! Why is the food at theme parks so darn expensive? It's out of control.
@@TheUtvol1982 according one side of the party line, the economy is booming.
I was at Silver Dollar City 6 weeks ago. It was packed.
A man called Joe told me that everything is great and we are all better off ?was he lying? To be honest I don’t think he believes it himself
There’s no shade there. Three years ago I went there and got heat stroke waiting for slinky dog
For a billion dollar corporation, Disney has the worst IT.
When you hire because of dei and not the best candidate this is what occurs unfortunately
@derek nah DEI isn’t it, they outsource to overseas to lowest bidder and it shows.
@@derek81222 Imagine thinking this is the reason. It's simply the leadership doesn't care. All corporations get complacent after a while. A crux of all empires.
I've been saying this for years. I don't understand it.
@@derek81222 It has been this way for 20 years. Nothing to do with DEI
It’s good to hear someone speaking the truth.
Good for you!
we all support families riding together...just not families cutting other families to do it
You're still spending. That's all they care.
It is no surprise to me of the decline of Disney. America is declining and people are no longer considerate of others, they are rude and just displaying bad behavior. So many fights breaking out at the parks. People have lost their ability to be thoughtful and civil. You can see this anywhere when out and about. SAD!
😂
@@playedout148 Why are you laughing? If someone was rude to you or your family, what would you do or say to them? Just wondering about your weird response. Not sure what I said that was actually funny but rather more concerning about the way people behave these days.
Disney world is not what it used to be back when before covid. Everything has changed. It makes me so 😢
The Acolyte. a perfect example of why Disney is failing.
The fans that are left are morons.
Once they proved they were anti-White, I was out. Never going back.
Keep doing you Dev!!! You’re one of the very few REAL Disney TH-camrs out there anymore and I know I can trust you unlike many others!
Dev Walt would be rolling over in his grave if he were to see how his dream has played out in today’s time.
It’s so sad but this is what happens to all businesses. When Disney was just young it was the dream of Walt. Today we have a ceo who is more interested in his salary and his political agenda.
The reservation system for passholders has to be maddening.
These parks are not that busy anymore and this system just doesn't need to exist ever again.
@@ducktails1695absolutely right! I cannot fathom why they think that they need this reservation system at all anymore. It's a hassle and I've heard more and more people talking about ditching Disney for Universal. Disney needs to WAKE UP! This is a place that a lot of us love, and they're letting it go to pot!
Keep these videos up. Disney needs to be held accountable for what’s going on.
I agree. The reservation system needs to go go go!
*dev
I never understood why they don't have staff monitoring the line cutting We went years ago during COVID and there was still line cutting It's so frustrating to stand there for an hour and then watch people join a party in front of you that had two people in it and now there's 13 people in front of you I'm sorry you either stand there for the hour or you don't ride!
Minorities and disabled people would disagree with you on this.
They are ENTITLED.
When you are paying these crazy prices for admissions, food, parking, etc. You start to feel entitled. Not an excuse but just the psychology.
@@InternetJury It would be more accepted if a cast member escorted them to the front. If you aren't being escorted, you can wait like everyone else.
The reason they are getting away with it us because guests take anything they dish out. You are right on.🎉 ❤🎉
Summers have been dying for at least 20 years but Disney is doing it's best to make more and more people stay away, continuing the reservations, its 115 in the shade and only one waterpark open,Animal Kingdom closing at 6pm,not enough investing in the parks and generally taking too long to build new attractions, going to the paid Genie+/Lightning lanes to skip lines,etc....Its amazing how they added the Star Wars and Toy Story areas to DHS and that park has a double problem, first,so many areas like the launch bay courtyard are like in a state of limbo, you ask yourself what's happening in that area and how long will it stay in that state, also the park needs to bring back more of a studios vibe, some way somehow, just adding new IP based lands gives the park a kind of identity crisis, the park has had two major additions and yet feels like it needs so many more areas and attractions added or redone which is crazy!
I understand your frustration. We've overlooked all the changes and controversies for years. We recently had to cancel our APs because of the DAS pass changes. I'm a disabled veteran and can't go without it. Could you do a video on the DAS changes? Thanks for always speaking the truth 💜
PCDev having an existential crisis in the Walt Disney Presents is so real
Yea except he does this every other video for past 2 years 😂

lol it’s funny you say that cuz I laughed as well…but that ride is always well over 60 minutes on the stand by line
RoR and Slinky dog constantly have a 3hr wait so yeah that’s “just” a 60 minutes wait 😅
Dollywood is one of the cleanest parks, love to see ya there again Dude! They got us as season passholders this year and amazing time, every time!
The Golden Years are long gone. Thank God for memories. Goodbye, Disney. I’ll miss you.
You're quickly becoming my favorite theme park blogger because of the honesty.
I appreciate your honesty. Thank you for sharing what you're really seeing.
Been watching you Dev for years! Always appreciated your honesty towards the parks and Disney experience. Wish we can go back to the pre-covid days!
Completely agree with you dev, and that’s why we are ex-Disney pass holders and have switched to Universal. Really share your frustration, as we were pass holders for many years, but it’s just not worth it anymore.
That being said, we love your honest videos and please keep it up.
You are our window to how badly things still are, and I appreciate your suffering oddly lol. If things ever improve you’ll let us know!!
How clean are the bathrooms on a consistent basis. I find UO to be a cleaner park overall. It's not perfect but I don't expect any park to be perfect. But overall I just find UO to be a cleaner park.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
PS it’s been slow everywhere. I think there’s a combo of things like the economy and expenses but I truly think everyone is waiting for Epic next year.
Thats soo true!!!
Because of the change in the disability rules, people that have invisible disabilities and can't stand for very long will be a larger percentage of people jumping the line now. I know that the parks are trying to reduce the abuses of the previous disability passes, but they created a different (and arguably worse) problem.
There are no team members in line so how do we let them know?
Sad to say.
That's why your the man dev total honesty with your vloggers about the parks I thank you for that bro great video as always
Who could possibly think inclusion is a bad thing?
@@cjhan47 We all know the answer to this. It's why I stopped reading after that sentence. The opinion stopped mattering at that point.
I love Dev. There are other vloggers that give you the truth
Disney doesn't want to put money in their parks to keep them up. Walt would not be pleased.
Thank you Dev speaking the truth and never sugarcoating what going’s on at Disney
I absolutely love your honesty.. I love your videos and your knowledge. Some people just can’t handle the truth. I would prefer someone doing an honest review instead of me going on vacation and not getting what I expected. Thank you for the honesty! Keep it up.
The Inflated waits are ridiculous. From 70 outside to actually waiting 40, that's too big of a gap to explain
I can say back in 2007 during MK Christmas Party I dropped a cookie on the floor, and before I could even grab a napkin to scoop it up, a cast member had already saw it and discarded it. I do definitely notice more garbage laying around that doesn't even look like it wad just left there either
It’s way too expensive to go. That’s why its crowd numbers are falling.
I’ve heard a rumor that Disney is considering the Launch Bay area (building and behind- all
the way back to Rockin Rollercoaster) to build a huge soundstage that has a Villains themed land inside it.
Parks being poorly managed is so sad. 😔 Not sure "politics" has anything to do with that, weird correlation to make.
@caydubb I agree. It's EVERYTHING. For myself certainly.
Dev thank you for continuing to be honest with us. I’m coming the end of August and the end of September. Hoping for things to be better
I Enjoy your videos, you do keep it REAL so thanks for all the info, whether good or bad it ‘s very helpful.
The line cutting is real everywhere. I was in line for Ice breaker at seaworld orlando a few weeks ago and a party of 2 became a party of 10 no joke
