"You cannot be athletic off the heel." ☝💪 That cue to use the front half of foot makes a big difference. I also pointed toes out so knees would go out rather than forward (along with my weight) and jerks are alot easier. Your "3 mistakes" series is gold.
great que's to remember. I need to remember the losen my hands on the bar so that I can feel the bar coming off my shoulders. I think I use to much arms to push the bar up. It's also about timing as well.
if it is heavy because your chest isnt staying up, could be a shoulder/back mobility issue, mobility just helps stack the weight. Unless you left out that the clean is also heavy, then it might just be heavy :P
To expand on your third point, I had that same issue of front leg not doing far enough forward and what fixed it nearly immediately was to focus on pushing my body down into the ground, against the bar, which naturally force my front leg to come forward to allow for my body to drop lower so that I can jerk heavier weights
Is it normal to make progress much faster on one lift than the other? For example putting 30 lbs on your snatch but only 10 on your C&J in the same time.
Thanks for the advice, I am relatively new in the sport and my jerk is always been a problem specially in the split. My coach keep yelling at me !! Heels and bend that back knee!! And don’t woke very well for me lol. Also where you buy those joggers ?
2:00 watch out man, Darth Maul in the background
As a new weightlifter, these instructional videos are the best

Good video and great cues. For #3 I also paused and got better at it, but still have a lot of work to do 💪👏
How important is core strength in the jerk? Because for me, the weight feels sooo heavy in the front rack, and I assume it’s because of a weak core.

My feet go goofy angles when I get into split position.
Are you missing hip internal rotation?
@clintiacuone1703 Maybe not sure what that means though.
@@squirtlepower th-cam.com/users/shortsAsubGB9-76E?si=U3Xr4LoGw4l1oKqJ can your hips rotate in towards your midline very well like in this video?!

I would say that is pretty typical.
Yes I'm right there with ya.
starting point for the snatch is much lower than c&j for most people, so it's natural to see the weight tracking up as you dial in your technique
