Another free yarn bowl option is to wash an empty Clorox/Lysol wipes container. In that instance, you can just keep it as a skein and center pull through the plastic lid by feeding your yarn through the hole that keeps the wipes from falling back into the container.
I totally agree with the turning chain stitch markers!! And I like the idea of the container with the clip, I'm going to check my galley to see what I can find. God bless you Summer. 🙏❤️🤗
I tried this once...I think my mom had told me that idea, but my chair legs weren't the correct width. My daughters hands worked great, and I had someone to talk to, too!
I LOVE my Stanwood! My mom got me one for Christmas 2 years ago then last year my hubby got me the spiny yarn holder thing that goes with it! Its sits by me at all times!
Hello Tina! Thanks for being such a great yarn friend and watching all my videos! I’ll keep my eyes open for your next live and try to pop in to say hi!
I noticed that you keep your patterns in page protectors. If you purchase Vis a Vis Water Erase markers. That way you can draw all over the page protector, then when done just wipe it all off with water.
Totally agree that stitch markers are the #1 tool. I always mark the turning chain to find it on the return pass. The Stanwood yarn winder is worth every dime.
Love all those tips. My favorite is the see thru tabs. I have the same tabs, but you can't see thru them.. that's gonna change! Hahahaa My 1st stitch markers, for 6 months or so, were bobby pins. They worked great. Thank you for this video 💗
I use those lobster claw stitch markers as progress keepers on my knitting, I dislike those plastic ones, I like round metal ones for pattern repeats, as for keeping my hooks tidy I use my late husbands coffee mug, also cat bowls that aren’t in use make wonderful places to keep a few stitch markers, scissors etc.
What a great chat. Now to be half as together as you are. I have a small yarn winder. If you saw what I have my for my hooks. LOL. I do have cloth bags for my sets. I have one with all this one set organized.
Another free yarn container is the butter lettuce container in the produce department. You just need to put a hole in it. Works great. I have an Amish swift from Amazon that I love. I also have several hook holders and do the same thing you do. Type of hook has it's own holder.
When I make my amigurumis I ,m using another color of yarn too. I feel its taking to much time and " it's to complicated " as with a yarn I just have to pull to take it out no need to try to open those minuscule stitch markers😄
yes I do! I broke it down into four videos...so I could add a lot of detail, without having a super long video Part 1 th-cam.com/video/mV9JEvfA7Zw/w-d-xo.html Part 2 th-cam.com/video/33syQRISUpU/w-d-xo.htmlPart 3 Part 3 th-cam.com/video/5UGtT5b85B8/w-d-xo.html Part 4 th-cam.com/video/630Run3H0gQ/w-d-xo.html
I love this video! I have the same denim feeling hook roll from Bella Coco. I have only Bella hooks in it. Have been thinking about making a few out of cotton for my Furls to protect them plus organize them.
I just bought a set of the silver Tulips… and I have a set ofvClovers,,, They totally compliment each other,,, and ui consider them ti be essential. I have four Furls Odyssey s… they are nicer byt nit necessary.
Summer, just happened to come across your channel a few minutes ago and I looove your personality! Great info and I am going to go check out your listed info right now. I am joining your followers so I will see you next video.
For over 50 years I used safety pins. Now I have bought the 1 inch plastic one that look like a safety pins. Blue and orange. Get the fancy ones if you want but I wont spend the money on them. I'd rather buy yarn. Lol
Hi dear Summer I love this video! Cannot find the Etsy shop that sells those cute hooks with strawberries. I wold appreciate your help. Thank you Have a blessed day🌸
Thank you for the reminder. I was logged out of etsy and lost my password,so I couldn't check out my history. Here is the video where I oped the hooks...you should see the shop in here. th-cam.com/video/sxDePlpxEVc/w-d-xo.html
My experience with the yarnology wonder is that it’s a piece of crap. It broke in less than a week. I tried to fix it but it didn’t help so I bought another one. It broke even faster. So they both went into the garbage where they belong. I plan to get the Stanwood with Swift at some point but it’s expensive.
I love watching your sister with her ducks and dogs. Thanks for telling us, I've been watching her since the beginning.
How nice! I keep telling her we should a video together
My daughter is a second grade teacher😀 This is the first time I viewed your channel, I found it though a suggestion, and I’m so happy! 😊

Love all your ideas and thanks for the links. I would add blocking mats. They really add the finishing touch to my motifs/projects.
Another free swift is a kitchen chair turned on it's side/upside down using the legs as a "swift" LOL 🤣 I remember my grandmom doing this.
I tried this once...I think my mom had told me that idea, but my chair legs weren't the correct width. My daughters hands worked great, and I had someone to talk to, too!
@@SummersTipsandStitches Great idea. We must need chairs from the 1950s 🤣

Love this video. The only thing I do not have is a swift. And I bought clear vinyl zippered bags to hold my yarn and projects. I got them from Amazon.
Thank you,
Thanks for sharing. I have used safety pins as stitch markers.
Loved the Stanwood!
I've used another color of yarn as a stitch marker. I have plastic markers but it seems like I always need more.
I do that too sometimes. Mostly when I am being lazy and don't want to run downstairs to get my 'real' stitch markers.
When I make my amigurumis I ,m using another color of yarn too. I feel its taking to much time and " it's to complicated " as with a yarn I just have to pull to take it out no need to try to open those minuscule stitch markers😄
I remember my Grandaddy hikdung the yarn for Gramma,😍
Thank you again sweet lady!
So much food for thought!

I have the Yarnology yarn winder and if anyone would like it, I’ll happily send it to them. I do not care for it either so I purchased a Starwood.
I feel like that too!

My goodness, how many hooks do you have? 😂
A real crocheter would know the answer is: “Obviously not enough!” 😂
Thank you
