Came here to see if this was said. Unironically, Gemma may have won. She has arguably the very best red wines from Italy (Barolo and Barbaresco), Spain (Tempranillo), and Portugal (Touriga Nacional). Especially if you consider the blends dominated by the last 2.
I'm confused. I expected Cabernet Sauvignon to be the number one pick ... and I waited for it to be chosen with each new pick ... and then it was still sitting on the couch when the draft was over ... how?
@@yriafehtivan It is definitely tough because the grape is quite versatile so the tasting notes and aroma can vary. Here is my tip: Look at the wine list of good French restaurants (Chambers NYC for example) and spend some time looking up what is on those wine lists to see what sounds interesting to you.
Chardonnay, Gamay, Chenin and Nero Davola is the strongest line up. You cover almost all the styles possible from aged to young whites, the same for reds, sweet wines botrytized ( Chenin) and sparkling. You lack fortified wine varieties and biologically aged wines like sherry( Manzanilla or Fino) or Jura
@@Sayu277 my humblest apologies for stepping on your Blanc de Noirs Champagne shout out. I mistakenly thought I was simply attempting to make a statement counterpoint from one of the panelists on SB who cited d’Yquem example. Mea culpa.

No Cabernet Sauvignon/Franc, Tempranillo, Malbec, Viognier, Moscato, Sangiovese (last round). All “GM’s” are getting canned, with Henry repositioned as master of vibes.

24:53 Guuuuys, Tinta Roriz is Tempranillo. 😂 You should know this!
Also, Lochie got this, but only narrowly. 🍾

Noah should definitely had to know it since he is preparing WSET 4 if I’m not mistaken
LOL! Duh! Haha
I imagine he's aware by now!
She low-key nailed it :)
didn’t know how much i needed grape variety x basketball and footy player comparisons. loved this!
We didn't, until we were IN it...then we realised that we might have created a monster.
Tinta Roriz (Portuguese) is Tempranillo (Spainish), I’m glad Gemma picked up on Touriga Naçional.
Haha! Yep!
Noah gets my vote. But hubby is all in on fan favs from Lochie.
Haha - Lochie is winning in the votes!
For me Gemma snatches this, followed by Brendo / Lochie. Great video chaps, I might steal this idea with wine friends
BOOM! Gemma FTW!

It's an ongoing joke now, how much Cabernet doesn't rate on this channel haha
The only four I ever need: Chenin, Chenin, Chenin, and Chenin. Half kidding.
I could use some recommendations for more Chenin. I love the grape but finding it is hard.
@@yriafehtivan François Chidaine, Jacky Blot (Taille aux loups), Beaumont (south-Africa) are big names, but all worth the price imo!
I see what you did there!
Big love!

Xinomavro would make another good sub for Nebbiolo

Possibly consider Tannat as well? Has a bit of brightness with tannin.
@@WarChortle Tannat may well be the red wine grape that saves the 21st century wine industry, it’s very suitable for the warming climate conditions.
Absolutely! We've been tricked by that before in Blind Tastings!
Yummy!
Henry’s second pick is *chefs kiss* lol entertaining pick and had me laughing
The guy is unhinged most of the time lol
I'm in ATL and calling Trae Young the "locker room cancer" hurt.......and was spot on!
HAHAHA!
Came here to say Tinta Roriz is another name for Tempranillo… and saw I’ve been beaten to it by a few folks already 😂
Haha! The best part of our community is that when we stuff things up - we definitely hear about it! :)
Henry you had me and my wife at…grandparents drinking Semillon at Chuckie Cheese. I hope my parents are ready!
LOL! We had no idea where he pulled that one from!

There are plenty of flor-aged chards in jura
Very very strong lineup, indeed!
Yep!
My head says Brenden, but my heart says Henry
Also, where can I get those posters in the background from?
Hey hey! :)
It's from an italian artist - you can buy them from his website: MyPosterSucks
Frappato is a natural blender with Nero d’Avola, aka Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
Yep!
Vin Jaune on the table, love the flex!
It's WFTP - there's GOTTA be a flex somewhere.
No cabernet sauvignon? What a weird draft :)
Yeah, and Henry had merlot already 🤦♂️🤷♂️
It's a long-tail joke actually lol
LOL
the montbougeau vin jaune just chillin is crazy lol!
HAHA! We thought SOMEONE would pick that up!
Now you need to battle the lineups. Lochie plays grand cru Chablis, Henry plays passion pop. Who wins?
The Wine The People Want vs The Wine The People Need?
Mmmm id get grillo and falanghina in there, too
Interesting! Above ALL other grapes?
Where do you get the art on the wall?
Ah! That's from an amazing Italian artist who has a website called 'MyPosterSucks'
Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs are soo good
I am with Brandon for the drafts
