Your videos are a great source of info and very valuable, this one does however need updating as the info is wrong. The DVSA DO give extensions in the current climate.
Helpful video Howard. I was Fully qualified for 10 years and have just passed my part 2 as im requalifying, Im not planning on going for a trainee licence. I just feel that 520 weeks of experience (grade 5) should still be kicking around in my head somewhere lol, I am however doing some refresher training. For someone that has 0 experience, the TL is fantastic for first timers.

You are making a really nice videos. The only think when you use the outside camera the sound is compromised. Would be beneficial to cut the outside sound or use a kind of microphone. Thank you for doing these videos

At least you're earning when you're on a pink badge, and you're far better prepared for life after Part Three. It's a good scheme, but I suppose it's not for everyone.
Hi Howard, am I right in saying that only 10 of the 40 hours training required to obtain the pink licence need to be "practical in car training" how can the other 30 hours be made up? Thanks in advance😊
Yes you are correct. All the training should be with an ADI or ORDIT trainer on Part 3 related topics. So it could be done in a classroom or a zoom call for example

Hi I have a question to ask if you don’t mind I have just signed up for 20hours training on PdI with someone else rather than my big national school.got my badge and all set to go additional 20 hrs training so do I have to do with my sponsor school or can I do with any local school. You must do the training with an ADI. Your sponsor have their name on your badge so I guess they could withdraw their support and inform the DVSA. This could then result in your badge being revoked. But why would they do that if you’re getting support and paying your franchise. They do have every right to observe your teaching, after all you are representing their brand. They owe it to their customers
Hi. I watch all your videos. They really helped me out in passing part 2. Now i am doing part 3. I have done 40 hrs training but now due to lack of time, i want to go without pink license. I am doing practice with my learner husband. can i take test using my own car without dual controls as my husband (pupil) feels comfortable on his own car. Kindly reply. Thanks
Hi Howard, I've been on my pink badge since February, got my part3 in 2 weeks time 1st attempt! But I just watched a video stating I need to take reflective logs, cam you tell me if this is mandatory when taking the part 3 please. I have my supervision log but didn't know about the reflective? Thanks in advance. Adele .
No need to have a reflective log the examiner will ask to see your log book. Take your supervision log and you’ll be fine. They also like to see your pupils progress record and any reflective logs that you may have used with them
No. You’ll need to join a school to support you.. You are legally not allowed to advertise yourself as an instructor until qualified, therefore you can’t be independent and charge for lessons. You can however teach friends and relatives for free to get practice without getting a pink

I believe your friend who you wish to work with can sign your form, as long as they are an ADI, hope that help you

If you go on pink, can you also source your own pupils, if so do they have to be free of charge?
Yes you can and you can charge for lessons. You just can't advertise yourself as a driving instructor, you must state that you are a Trainee.
How do you check what option you had chose when applying for pink i have forgotten if i chose the extra training or supervision
If you discuss with your training provider how they want to do it.
Most go for the 20 additional hours rather than 20% supervision

Some driving schools provide you with a vehicle as part of the franchise agreement and some require you to source your own.
