I witnessed this song at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on Sept. 7 as 12th in the setlist. Band-Maid fans there had already known their skills and talents. When I heard that they played it as opening at Saitama Super Arena (as support to Guns N Roses) like they did at Aftershock, I was very proud of them. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who did not know who the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄 Thanks again from B-M's homeland 有難う💛。
I saw them at a small venue in Phoenix, Arizona Oct 19th, only 500 people. You could feel the love between the band and their fans. If they ever play close to where you are DON’T MISS THEM. It was great that my daughter shared the fun with me. One of my favorite all time concert experiences.
Champ, this is just what I've been asking for. A song where Kanami solos for minutes and is on top of the mix. Misa and Akane sound like they have been set free. imagine what they thought when they got Kanami's demo. What fun. I think it IS their best song.
Akane's drumming is amazing. Even though a lot of fans have already seen the video, since it came with the Unleash CD bundle, I was still excited to see it officially added to their TH-cam channel.
To me this song is like a perfect storyline of an epic movie or a book where underdog is constantly struggling. Each guitar melody section descibe his efforts while rest of the instruments paint a background story. Drums are obsticales the "hero" overcomes, bass is a neutral observer, or his friend who gives him "the speach" when he's at his lowest, and the last melodic section (after bass solo section) is the perfect last struggle where he overcomes the everything and comes on top in the end. At the end then he remembers everything he went through and things he learned realizing all of this made him a better human, and then at the last moment he looks into the future and smiles. He would do all of it again.
I _just_ freaking watched this on the dvd Wednesday after work. Thanks for the reaction, Champ! The black background is the spooky antithesis of the white background (which I love) on their earlier instrumental videos. The white emphasis on the costumes stands out on the background.
This was such an awesome surprise I’ve been listening to this song on repeat since the NYC show and I agree 110% this is one of those songs that you close your eyes on, and just get taken away. Great reaction Champ you really nailed the reason this song is special. 🤘
From now on should be nominated for some kind of an award. And there are tons of categories that this song can potentially fall into. Hope it gets recognized.
Even though I have this on Blu-ray I am so happy they released it on YT for everyone to see this great MV/song. I said before this video alone was worth the entire purchase price of the CD+ version. Thank you Band-Maid for this wonderful Thanksgiving/Black Friday gift.
Did you just say "KANAMI PROUD" omg this is a t shirt waiting to be made awesome once again you are the champ be well also kanami proud can be used as a metaphor you awesome
The composition of the song is fantastic. It has verses and choruses just played mostly by lead and and bass. What’s crazy is seeing and hearing them in person was fantastic. You could hear all of them.
Yo champ, first to post a reaction to it. The sentimental side of me still loves onset which was the song that fully sent me down the rabbit hole with Band Maid, but this instrumental is just awesome. Chat to you soon and happy thanksgiving! (Btw, this was packaged in with Unleash, I listen/watch it all the time lol)
Having listened to this amazing song many, many times, I now get to concentrate on Kanami's piano work in the background. She hits the keys with more vigor than other tunes she includes her keyboard work. Awesome! (p.s. I've been an avid fan of The Champ of Medium since you first reacted to the Domination mv.)
Such an awesome instrumental song; quick paced and nonstop action. The tempo remains steady and the melody just resonates. Each musician presents their unique style with blaze and brilliance. Thanks for the reaction Champ! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and as always much respect! 🤘
I don’t comment on their appearance much because the music is why I love them. But yeah, seeing Misa up close and in person, Miss is absolutely gorgeous.
So thankful for BAND-MAID!! When they opened with this song at Aftershock, it was their opening salvo of musical cannon fire telling everyone that they were here to conquer the U.S., and conquer us they did!! Belated Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! 🤘🤩🤘
Akane is the Queen of doing just enough to enhance the song but never drowning it. The MV was on the extras of the Unleash EP so I have seen it so often but it still looks and feels new.
Thanks, Champ! I'm with you, From Now On is not just a great instrumental, but it's one of their best, period. Saiki's my favorite vocalist, and that's not going to change, but this instrumental is just epic in all respects.
You know champ we maidiacs get witness and experience what is turning into one of the greatest bands ever in rock n roll history and we are seeing it .
From Japan I feel BAND-MAID's new side of classical hard rock. They seem to have mastered classical and dramatic songwriting with the theme of SENCE and Down Winery. With a short setlist for the festival, they had the perfect opening song to wow the audience.
This is the band that gave us BAND-MAIKO and cluppo on April Fools Day and 'alone' on Valentine's Day. Now we get 'From Now On' for Thanksgiving. I'm certainly thankful. : )
interesting to compare the camera shots of Kanami's fingers at work and the shots of those same fingers in that good ol' gateway drug, Thrill. I know the lenses are probably different, and the camera angles certainly are -- Thrill from slightly above, making everything smaller, From Now On in approved rockstar mode, from slightly below, emphasizing strength. But there's something else, too .... is it that in Thrill she's demonstrating the speed and precision, while in this one that is so far beyond question that the movement is all about masterful economy?
Hey, fastest reaction!. Absolutely brilliant song, absolutely peak Band Maid. This song is a rollercoaster of emotions... and I'm always surprising myself looking for another ride. Happy Thanksgiving for everybody!
Biggest thing for me is that it doesn't have the somewhat awkward transition that Onset has. This just has such a Satriani flow and vibe. I want Kanami to do a whole album of this.
Like there are many different favorite Band-Maid songs that people have, there are also many different favorite parts of From Now On. Mine is 7:12 to 7:22 on this video.
For me, far and away their best instrumental. It's another masterpiece. Very symphonic. There's a reason they started all their festival performances with it.
This really Showcases how Far they ve come as musicians as a Unit since World Domination Were they i think found their Sound. and Saiki Found her Vocal Style. Man in 2015 Miku could nt barely Play guitar and now She Plays in this Song.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!! No Sai-chan No Band-maid NAH just a different take still awesome, still uplifting, still fun, still brilliant and I could go on for pages.
Kanami has developed soo much as a guitarist since 2017 even. She is like a Walking Playing Enzyclopedia of all the Great guitarists since 1969 or so, While Still being her own Style. Her career is only Like 6 years at this point. and he deserves to be mentioned along the Likes of Joe Satriani and Marty Friedman, but She also has they Playing beauty of U 2 Edge some Jimi Hendrix some, of Steve Perry of Aerosmith. Erm You get my Point.
Totally agree that this song stood out even more than the rest in the lives - and I'd also say that I would have preferred this as the show opener instead of Sense. And I like Sense, if that makes any sense...
From now on , on itself belongs in a rock anfhology of the most unexpected and creative monster accomplishments by a band.along possibly with Black Hole or even Sense!!Parsonnally would include No God Giovanni or Daydreaming;Non stop from Kanami or Akane;convinced there is a girl revolution in Japan and the girls are kicking ass to any dude band aniwhere cause no dude puts in the work like this league of exceptionnal rock godesses including all our other favorites.
It is a tribute to Miku and everyone’s hard work that she started as a vocalist and now can hang on guitar with the rest in kick ass instrumentals like this.
It's so good that Kanami finally got a bit selfish and wrote a song for herself. The other maids were brilliant, of course, but this one belongs to Kanami.
Kanami is a genius! And yes, Misa is absolutely stunning! I was right in front of her in Boston. Pictures and videos do not do that woman justice. She is far more beautiful in real life!
Hey Champ, that is an absolutely epic song and that video is perfect for it !! As I was listening to it, I started to notice more of the backing track and I started thinking how amazing it would be if they could do an arrangement of “ from now on” with the backing of an orchestra 🤔 I think we all know what Kanami could do with that idea and I imagine it’s something that would excite her to compose if they ever have the opportunity.
Dear Champ mate! Greetings from under Mount Fuji on a grey making anything impossible to distinguish outside. A good time to listen to your reaction! I tend to think like Flugelhorn Old Man in Japan. Now that Miku is getting closer and closer technically to her mates (maids) the other three can at last open the gates. I am humbly certain it is only a beginning as their instrumentals are simply way above the other very talented bands in Japan. The classical education of three of them and the jazz education of two of them are finally coming to the fore. I am pretty sure that one day they will come with enough material to churn out a superb instrumental album for generations to emulate! You reactors are a very lucky lot! Awesome!! Got this on the blu-ray...not in the usual Matrix Construct...this video is pure Zion baby 👊❤ Great great track from the honed Maid hive intellect. Firkin YEAH!!! 🤘🤘🤘
I've never been able to shake the feeling that Kanami first wrote a lot of the principal pieces of this song on piano. I don't have the musical knowledge to tell you *why* I think that, just that a lot of the melodies have what seems to me like a piano-type quality to them.
Many of us -- right, Champ ;-) -- just recently saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. And the BPM’s matched the DB's! 😶🌫
You mention feeling like you're flying - I want this song to be in the soundtrack of an anime reboot (or live-action adaptation) of something like Space Battleship Yamato or Captain Harlock, where the heroes are blazing through a giant space battle scene, and coming out vitorious at the other end. That sense of flying free, of blazing your own trail, of overcoming hardships and adversity (be it record labels, naysayers who think they're just a gimmick band, and all of the fears and struggles with Covid), and, ultimately, victory at the end, those are the emotions I get from this song, and I feel there's a high probability that those were what the band members were feeling while composing this song in preparation for the new album and, ulimately, their ability to burst forth on the stage once again with live tours.
This is definitely one of my favorite songs right now. I was disappointed they didn't play this one at Chicago, but it's hard to be upset with how amazing that show was.
I remember your first Band-Maid reaction, you were like, yeah, this is interesting. Then after numerous reactions, you are now like, these ladies are frikkin awesome. JUST LIKE THE REST OF US!! This band is so indescribable. How can they be so talented. This one, it doesn't need lyrics, it sings to us on its own. The only problem I have is, which one of these ladies is my favorite??? All of them, including Saiki, and she isn't even in this one. Ugh!!!!
I don't know why don't have some much more views U jave good first reaction. So good analysis. At least i will be to explain to my doctor why lost my hearing.
I witnessed this song at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo on Sept. 7 as 12th in the setlist. Band-Maid fans there had already known their skills and talents. Miku ♥️. I know you’re watching this. Thank you for the great tour! 🥰
I think they are really proud of this song. 1st song on the EP and 1st song at Aftershock.
And they used it for the Cluppo reaction to, “Band Maid US tour”, April Fools Day video.
They SHOULD be proud. It's an epic arrangement.
I saw them at a small venue in Phoenix, Arizona Oct 19th, only 500 people. You could feel the love between the band and their fans. If they ever play close to where you are DON’T MISS THEM. It was great that my daughter shared the fun with me. One of my favorite all time concert experiences.
It's such a transcendent instrumental--Like a dream, that takes you to beautiful places, and makes you so wishful to be there again when it's over.

The mighty pigeon dropped a great present for us. This is to be thankful.
Kudos to Miku for her excellent job at holding down the rhythm. She has come so far since Thrill. You go pigeon!
They are at the top of their game, hope they have great continued success.
Wow Champ the 1st one to drop a reaction to a new MV? Is this a sign of Armageddon?
Thanks, Champ! I'm with you, From Now On is not just a great instrumental, but it's one of their best, period. Saiki's my favorite vocalist, and that's not going to change, but this instrumental is just epic in all respects.

With a short setlist for the festival, they had the perfect opening song to wow the audience.
This is their best instrumental even better than Onset.
The maid outfit girls band from far east started a rock band and releasing this incredible instrumental song, eventually. Aweaome.
Thanx for sharing!
its amazing the amount of different reactions there are to this song - Bandmaid has blown up all over TH-cam. wow
Best instrumental ever!!

@@brunobryant4846 🎅And an acoustic album for last Christmas. : )
But yeah, 'About Us' was a really sweet gesture.
Next time they tour the US they definitely need to book Microsoft theater and Yankee Stadium.

Can't wait for what is to come for Xmas.
Good job Champ. Yes live was amazing.
When is the tour recap series? 😆
This song was absolutely flawless live. They must have played it a million times, because it looked totally second nature to them.
They killed this live in Philly! ♥ Plus they played Onset & this back to back! ♥
Damn im envious af 🤩

Something about this song,.. it sounds heavy, but uplifting. Kanami's face at 5:27 "WTF did i write"
Hey, fastest reaction!. Absolutely brilliant song, absolutely peak Band Maid. This song is a rollercoaster of emotions... and I'm always surprising myself looking for another ride. Happy Thanksgiving for everybody!
Damn son, you're faster than Saiki buying Jordans on Black Friday. Thanks given to Band-Maid 🤘🕊️
🤣
Biggest thing for me is that it doesn't have the somewhat awkward transition that Onset has. This just has such a Satriani flow and vibe. I want Kanami to do a whole album of this.
I'm guessing all the other reactors were in thanksgiving mode but popping one of these out an hour after release is impressive.
This is no simple driving song, this is for flying...
It would make a perfect soundtrack for watching those crazy dudes zooming down a mountain in wingsuits
Also, Happy Birthday Mayu-chan👶
Like there are many different favorite Band-Maid songs that people have, there are also many different favorite parts of From Now On.

I think Champ wins the first to post reaction derby?
Within an hour of release, Champ is the Pro!
Yep, first I've seen. Champ is champ.
Awesome friggin video, by the way!

I witnessed the Maid's lay waste to the House of Blues in Dallas
Kanami is so beautiful. A goddess on the guitar and Saiki is right about her composing skills. #lovemincho
Winner, winner!
You are the first to react to this new video. How very un-medium of you, Champ.
I have a feeling Champ likes this song 😆
The Queens of the Empire rule with the adulation of their bowed citizens!!!
I still f***** regret not being able to be there. The passion shown is incredible.
I feel ya man this is awesome thanks for the reaction
How many times have we heard ppl ask for a longer Kaname solo?
:)
Kanami is a genius! And yes, Misa is absolutely stunning! I was right in front of her in Boston. Pictures and videos do not do that woman justice. She is far more beautiful in real life!
Thanks for this, otherwise I'd need a mirror to see how I look listening to this piece. 😀
I'm flying!
Thank you for your work as a reactor, and for your on-going support of Band Maid! Have a Happy New Year!
Yeah, this is definitely one of their best songs. Kanami has no hesitation anymore. She seems very confortable to play what she wants.
Chance, I do believe you enjoy this song.
Hey Champ, that is an absolutely epic song and that video is perfect for it !!
As I was listening to it, I started to notice more of the backing track and I started thinking how amazing it would be if they could do an arrangement of “ from now on” with the backing of an orchestra 🤔
I think we all know what Kanami could do with that idea and I imagine it’s something that would excite her to compose if they ever have the opportunity.

To me, it's like Miku is the baseline for Kanami. As Milku's skill gets better, it frees up Kanami to write more complex tunes for the band.

The reaction video were Champ tries to make guitar and drum noises with his mouth......just like most of his videos to be honest. But it's fun!
