The theory is OK, but, if Rose quartz was pink diamond, and when she rebelled she was kicked out of the diamonds, wouldn't Lapis be removed as well if she was gone for a long time? I mean, she was in Pearl's gem, and there is still a blue diamond. If Lapis IS infact blue diamond she would have been removed from the diamonds when she was gone. And about the picture in the temple, it could have been Rose quartz capturing Lapis in the mirror. But that's just my thoughts.
If Lapis was Blue Diamond, there wouldn't be a blue triangle on the Diamonds symbol. Lapis was trapped in that mirror for a long, long time ago. She would also be more like the left statue of the Sky Arena and Jaspers would have more respect for her. Altough, Lapis is really powerful and has a blue diamond on her dress. And I sincerely don't know what to think about the diamond shaped water-floor (?) that was formed when Steven freed her from the mirror. She may have something to do with Blue Diamond, but I doubt she is Blue Diamond herself. Nevertheless, good theory :3
If she never returned, they would mourn the Loss of her. It would be an unpleasant surprise to see her. She would be a suspected traitor if she returned.
+Letícia Pais it could have been an old war ship made before blue diamond went missing, after pink diamond and the war was gone blue diamond was left on earth, betrayed but still honored so the other diamonds put blue diamond on their ship. their could have also been a replacement for blue diamond because she was valuable but pink diamond was lost to them so they didn't replace her. this is just a theory I came up with, was it good, because I somehow came up with this ON THE SPOT after reading your comment. +Letícia Pais There's no reason why Jasper would have respect for an ex-royalty, more than she has respect for Rose. Jasper is a brute and dedicated to Yellow Diamond, who now rules and likely has no interest to share that rulership with Blue (or white) Diamond/Lapis Lazuli. Also, remember that gems can have different shapes when they reform, and she's not been herself for thousands of years. It is not unlikely that her new physical form would be at least quite a bit different from the old one.

More likely there is spectrum of jem strengths, that you can roughly put into buckets. Royalty: Rose Quartz, Yellow Diamond Nobility: Lapis Lazuli Gentry/Samurai: Jasper Commoner: Ruby, Sapphire Cultivated: Pearl, Ameythst, Peridot A fusion is strong enough to get you well into the next or the lower end of one after that.

Lapis lazuli was the informative one and jasper was the escort for peridot. Peridot was a gem who knew how to use ship. She even says they are used as that in one of the episodes.

There are actually four diamonds if you look at older episodes of Steven universe when they travel to different historical gem places like the galaxy arena on earth there is four but the pink one is broken I believe it's on the episode somewhere on the podium
In my opinion, it's possible Lapis Lazuli was a _previous_ Blue Diamond. Diamonds are the titles given to the ruling groups, so it's possible that she was previously a Blue Diamond until she was trapped in the mirror, likely by Rose Quartz (where she was replaced by another Blue Diamond).
I know we allready know this is debunked, but i still wanna give an opinion of why i thought it was wrong before. Think about it, why would era 2 have blue diamonds signal if she hadnt come back for 5,000 years, it just wouldn't make sense.
You should keep whispering in your videos. It makes it more interesting and yet very relaxing, it actually makes the viewer lean in to listen. I mean of course we listen to the video, but having someone as calm and yet so excited about their theory is thrilling for the viewer and the narrator. This is a wonderful theory, and before I've even seen this video I've always thought that Lapis Lazuli was different...in a good way you may put it. I can't wait for your next video, and hopefully your theory will become reality in the show.

Maybe, much like the theories that rose to make pink diamond has to fuse, lapis must fuse with one of the statue figures we see in sworn to the sword to make blue diamond maybe... Ether way your theory is really cool :D
llapis llazuli this is the third time trying to send this -_- so here I go, if the "the diamonds are a fusion" theory is correct that could explain why jasper was so against fusion, because propaganda, the diamonds would want to hide the secret to they power as much as possible, therefore they would discourage its use as much as possible so they don't have another civil war on there hands as in a gems lifespan it would be relatively recent id guess, ether way fusion is a really interesting concept and the amount of fan characters and theories are brilliant
llapis llazuli This video got me thinking about the "Desert Glass" gem (in Steven's Lion) which is trapped in a red pillow (And is also currently contained in one of Pearl's bubbles.) Why do you think it's in a pillow anyways? The reason Lapis was trapped in a mirror was most likely because when her gem was cracked her eye's were like mirrors (which is depicted when she first looked at Steven.)Also do you think that at some point the mirror just appeared around her gem when she most likely "got poofed"?

I know this was before the episode, but in the episode 'The Awnser' when sapphire and the three rubies are walking towards blue diamond, you can see a lot of silhouettes of gems. And guess what, one of them is Lapis!

I give credit to this because the implications on the story. Lapis seems to like Steven a great deal, however seems to feel like he would hate her if he knew more about her. This makes it more tragic because it ties in to Steven's desire to know more about his mother, which is tempered by the fear of who is mother actually was...
Another point to consider: So far in the show, Lapis is the only gem to be able to travel between planets on her own (without the aid of a transportational device, such as the warp pads or a space ship). Other theories I've seen so far have suggested that Rose, if Pink Diamond, may have been in charge of defense during the gem war, as suggested by her shield. As Lapis has only shown her wings (and no additional weapons), it may be that she, or Blue Diamond, was over transportation previously. Either way, the fact that Lapis can travel between planets by herself is impressive enough to show she might actually be blue diamond.
did you notice in the depiction of rose fighting the enemy gem from serious steven, that there are lines that seem to be sucking the enemy gem into the object rose is holding, and the object appears to be a mirror?

Following the pattern of the "fallen" diamonds taking names of non-precious minerals like Lapis Lazuli and Rose Quartz, it is not inconceivable that the last of the diamonds would be Desert Glass. Also, much like Lapis, she's been imprisoned in an object instead of being bubbled, and like Lapis, she's shown to have great telekinetic power which none of the monstrous corrupted gems have had. I'm not saying it is her, but I don't think we can completely discount the possibility.

liam palmer A lot of people think that Blue Diamond was in the light house, but Peridot has provided evidence that is not the case. Plus, we've seen BD's gem and it's neither the same shape or size as the one in the light house. Peridot said she wasn't around for the rebellion, yet she knew who Blue Diamond was and recognized her in the murals, so BD is likely still around in the empire.

Well, if Lapis was Blue Diamond, then there's a good chance that she would fake to try to get the gems to come back to home world, so that they could more easily take what they wanted from earth, or so that Lapis could earn back some of her former prestige. Otherwise, why would Lapis even be on the ship, and not at home world? Jasper and Peridot would have been able to communicate with her if it was necessary with their high tech equipment. Usually you don't pack powerful prisoners off to where they could escape.
The thing that gets my is that Jasper referred to Yellow Diamond as "Yellow Diamond" If gems called them by their gem and color wouldn't they referred to Lapis as "Blue Diamond". Really great theory video! You had a lot of evidence to support it!
Another detail nobody seems to notice. Notice how quickly Lapis reformed after being released, it was almost instantaneous versus every other gem that needed from hours to days to reform. Lapis' crack was larger than Amethyst's yet she was perfectly capable of sustaining a form while Amethyst was falling apart. Pearl also made it clear that if a gem is cracked it cannot regenerate, yet Lapis not only regenerated instantly, but was also able to summon her elemental powers and best the Crystal Gems. This must mean that the gem is capable of projecting much larger masses and accomplishing larger feats. ( as demonstrated in the Mural that Blue Diamond is taller than Rose Quartz.) Common knowledge will tell us that Diamond is harder than Amethyst.
I think Lapis was originally a servant of Blue Diamond, or at the very least, a high-ranking member of Homeworld's army, which is why she's so powerful and why she told the CG's "Do you even know who I used to be?" However, times have clearly changed on Homeworld, and like so many veterans, she received less than a hero's welcome once she got back. I don't know how long they tortured her (or even if they tortured her), but she must have spilled all she knew. About her imprisonment, Steven, Earth, everything. Peridot probably confirmed it when Steven and the others showed up at the Kindergarten.
Theory: I heard someone mention that diamonds can't be broken, they can by other diamonds. What if yellow diamond became greedy with power and wanted blue diamond (lapis) out of the way. She quite possibly sent her on a mission to test the humans and ran into Rose (pink diamond). In an effort to defeat her, lapis tried to attack her but in the end, every attack she threw, rose deflected. Finally she gave up and listened to what rose had to say. Rose would then reform her and lapis would return to home world to speak to white diamond about giving up on the kindergartens and the humans. Yellow diamond would then run into her and would be shocked that she returned alive, once hearing her idea about what to do with earth, she was outraged and sent her on one last mission, from which she got trapped and was presumed dead/lost. Her symbol was kept up as a sigh of respect or hope of her return.
I really like this theory! I half agree half disagree because if she was a diamond, Jasper wouldn't treat her so bad, but I think he is jealous, but these are just theories, anything could happen! Nice work on this video! I'm looking forward to more!
The "trouble" that Lapis caused was withholding information about Steven, and by extention, Rose Quartz. That's more than likely the reason Jasper threw her in the prison cell for the return trip.
Pretty interesting... but... nope, just can't see it, Jasper spoke to her as an underling and even referred to her as Lapis, which I doubt she would call her if she knew who she really was. The mural was pretty strong with the water, but it's implied that there are thousands of the same gems, so powers must collide at some point, blue diamond might just have a similar power (maybe even stronger as in the mural they aren't depicted to be near the ocean, so maybe she can make her own water), and the diamonds are used everywhere in the show, not just with Lapis, every time a gem summons a weapon it sparkles with diamonds, even the stars are shaped like diamonds. It's purely stylistic. There can be a powerful gem without them being a diamond, plus she's completely useless without her water, which I doubt would be useful on many places but earth as most planets in our solar system do not have water present, such a weakness doesn't seem like something a diamond would have. And I have no idea why you were whispering, but maybe work your schedule around times you can speak loudly because I could barely hear you and your breathe covered up your speech a lot. :) The strongest point in my opinion was the fact that when Lapis was broken from the mirror there was pretty obviously a facet of a diamond forming from the water. that's pretty hard to argue. But again, it might just be a stylistic choice.

She could then generally be strong, but the reason she was so incredibly strong in the fight was because her power comes from water. Then being in the middle of the ocean, she had all the power to pull from that she could manage. Loved your analysis of details though. Very thorough.
To people wondering why Homeworld and the Crystals would both treat Blue Diamond so poorly - I think her biggest crime was abstaining from the war. And it could explain why blue diamond is still on the crest. Rose rebelled totally and completely and likely disowned the Diamonds on her own. But Lapis didn't disown Homeworld by refusing to fight. She just didn't fight. Which for a race born to fight is probably quite the affront but given her status she likely wouldn't be disowned or cast of the crest for it.
I just thought of something after you mentioned that lapis lazuli dissolves in water. I don't know if you've seen Titanic, but one very iconic piece in the story was the Blue Hope Diamond. At the end of the movie it got tossed into the ocean. I don't think Titanic and Steven Universe are connected like that, I just saw a pattern of Blue Diamonds and ocean being connected somehow
In that picture inside the temple, Rose held up that square in her hands and it looked like she was protecting the gems or humans or whatever from the diamond character. But we also see a sort of wind sucking towards the item in Rose's hands. That could imply that Rose was using the item (maybe the mirror) to suck in and capture the diamond character to protect the other gems or humans. So it's just a thought but maybe Blue Diamond went rogue and left home world and ended up finding Rose on earth and fighting her, knowing that she was of high rank and might give away where the diamond was going to hide. And Rose could have already been banished from the diamonds and thought that Blue diamond was coming to surprise attack her and had to protect the gems or people and decided to capture Blue diamond to keep her quiet and away from home world or harming anyone (implying Lapis' many years trapped in the mirror), but because of Blue diamond's (maybe Lapis') power Rose couldn't do it with normal means (bubbling) and instead fused Blue diamond to the mirror with her gem.
It's a cool theory, but blue diamond is still in high esteem with homeworld, so homeworld gems would still respect her, and certainly be able to recognize her gemstone. Now gems can change their physical appearance, but not that of their gem at will, so Jasper would recognize Blue Diamond's gem instantly and would not treat her the way she does Lapis. It's also a safe bet that all diamonds share a similar gem cut, we've never seen Rose's gem by itself, but it's a fair assumption to say that it is in the typical "cone" shape that diamonds have in rings, with one side flat, the side we see, and the other a point, the side we haven't seen. I'd guess that each diamond would have a cut like this, but we won't know until we see Yellow. I've found quite a few fan theories from Steven Universe interesting and I can see the possibility behind Rose being Pink Diamond, Lion being some part of Rose and others, but I see this one as being nearly impossible. But if I'm wrong then I'll come back and admit it and apologize.
There is also a theory that Yellow Diamond may have the power to control fire, based on what we see in the mural. Now think about it, if Lapis could do all this crap with a cracked gem and thousands of years out of practice, what can Yellow Diamond do?
It's a good theory. I just have one main question; Why would they imprison a diamond and treat an authority member in such a way if Lapis is a Blue Diamond? It seems obvious that gems can recognize certain gems or statuses to an extent, meaning they would most likely recognize her as either a diamond or something more than a "brat" like Jasper called her.
Idk if its just me but the mural scene didn't look like rose was blocking an attack it looked more like rose was sucking blue diamond into what can be assumed to be the mirror because of the lines out of the object and because of the size of it, because rose is about 8ft and the other gems was about the same size it doesn't make sense that the other gem would make such a small focused attack.
I've actually been considering this myself. :D very well-spotted with the diamond-like water formation beneath steven's feet while pulling her gem from the mirror. But you forgot one important detail. I also believe that she's Blue Diamond because she specifically says to Steven "Nobody from Homeworld remembers me." Although the trifecta of blue, yellow, and white remains, they don't remember who she used to be. What could this mean? Did Rose make them believe she was dead? I can imagine a transfixed Lapis stumbling around Homeworld, shouting that she's the Queen, and she gets caught and says, "I can prove it! Take me back to Earth and I can prove it!" Jasper and Peridot are grudgingly assigned to do it.
I think this theory is pretty solid, BUT rose's diamond (if she is in fact pink diamond) was taken out of the diamond symbol seeing as she was shunned by being a rebel leader. Surely if lapis was causing so much trouble, the blue diamond would have also been removed. One way around that I guess is by saying that she was assumed to have died in the war and so they kept her diamond as a mark of respect
Good theory! I was also thinking the same, lapis is actually STRONGER than other gems, but she thinks she is weak because of being trapped in the mirror for years. Also she says, DO U EVEN WONDER WHO I USED TO BE?!? So maybe she was trying to point out she was blue diamond, That's what I thought
***** True, but she was able to hand the crystal gems' asses easily, something even Jasper hasn't successfully done. If garnet can beat Jasper, but not Lapiz (when her gem was broken), it still shows she's still far stronger than your average gem. Especially, with a fully fixed gem. Hell, I could argue, she could have easily defeated Peridot and Jasper if she wanted to(which is evident from her still being able to maintain dominance over Jasper when they are fused) , but she was way too depressed.
I think that the reason why Lapis' water clones were stopped is because Diamond's have the power to dispell the effect of lesser gems, which would imply that Lapis isn't a Blue Diamond. However, it could imply that Lapis was infact a servant/slave to Blue Diamond, since when Steven tried to pull out the gem from mirror, the water formed the symbol that resembled diamond cleavage, probably saying that Lapis was sealed into the mirror yb Blue Diamond. Maybe she had other gems that could manipulate other elements under her control. Also, the statue in Sky arena would imply that Blue Diamond has a round afro and carried a giant mace.
Turmoil I noticed that Steven stopped the clones in the same way he stopped the TV set in that ep where Amethyst and Greg watch Little Butler -- they are arguing, Am morphs into Rose, then Greg is upset and Steven yells "STOP" and the TV set cuts out. He has done this other times, so I hypothesis that one of his powers is to disrupt operations of others -- Lapis' water clones, the TV set, electronic devices and so on. RE the temple mural -- I thought that looked like the Yellow Diamond they have in that teaser, because of the hairdo; but I do see the water likeness.
Originally I dismissed this theory without listening to anyone flesh it out. I'm glad to have finally listened though. I can definitely say that this is one of my new favorite theories.
All though your theory is not entirely correct I think it was a very good idea it got me thinking as well about lapis and her history I always check back to your Chanel to see if you have posted new videos but sadly you don't please please please do I would love to see your other ideas :)
I think that yellow and blue diamond are going to be yellow and blue topaz respectively. The emblem puts them on the same level, suggesting they are equal to each other in strength and purpose, and physically topaz is one of the strongest gemstones below diamond in hardness. It doesn't make sense that Lapis is blue diamond since she was absent from home world since the rebellion in the mirror and gem society has managed to progress without her. Lapis was also not respected as she was treated as a lackie by Jasper and Peridot.
What if she was replaced by a new blue diamond, because we no longer see any pink diamond references once rose left (assuming that is correct) so when she returned she threw off the power order of home world, because now there are 4 top tier level gems instead of the 3 they had just gotten used to thanks to the loss of pink diamond (what ever the reason for that might be)

Nice theory! Try not to be so close to the mic though. For starters, it would all kinda add up if lapis was indeed blue diamond. But at the same time, pink diamond was removed from the diamonds after she gave birth to Steven (according to the rose is pink diamond theory. ). In the episode where lapis gets a hold of steven after she leaves earth, she says everyone had forgoten her, and moved on. It would make more sense if this where true, she would have been removed from the diamond authority due to absence. Thus, removing the blue triangle on the ships symbol.
I think Lapis was the heir to blue diamond before being literally back-stabbed and put in the mirror. This is why she sees Homeworld as her home but has trouble accepting how much it has changed. It also explains her Moses-inspired ocean split in the episode she was introduced.
Well, if the fact that actual Lapis dissolves in water and produces toxin is any sort of possible solid evidence, you could reasonably conclude that Lapis Lazuli is her true identity, as this trait carries over to Malachite... Very interesting way of looking at Lapis, though. I always thought that Lars' lighthouse ghost gem was the corrupted form of Blue Diamond, but this is much more interesting...
The fusions (Opal and Sardonyx) are the most powerful gems we've seen so far. Both Garnet and Pearl beat their respective clones in a matter of seconds. The only thing they couldn't do was for Lapis to not reform their clones. Hell Pearl fought two clones. Not only that, but the earth is probally the best place for Lapis to fighting, seeing as Earth is mostly water, take away a constant source of water. Lapis gets beat by even amethyst (the only gem she beat with her water clones)
Yes I know the water clones kept on reforming. BUT neither Garnet or Pearls clones were able to keep up with their counter parts. Garnet and Pearl where clearly controlling that fight. And if the clones were "Normal" then they would've lost a hundred times over. Garnet punche her clones head off, and Pearl sliced hers in two in like ten seconds.

You might not be right. Why would they put Blue diamond on the newer gem tech if they knew he/she was missing? Also, Lapis has the ability to control water, what somebody named lapis might be able to do. This proves that she is really just lapis, unlike Rose quartz, who changed her name from pink diamond after she rebelled, so that they could not find her. But after many years, Peridot was sent out with jasper to find them. This theory is most likely wrong. Also, Please, next time you record, you should be in a place where you can speak as loudly as you want, and have nobody bother you, along with not having an echo. I suggest you tell everyone in the house you're going to be recording, then go into your closet/a closet.
i think you are right because there is dozens of signs that lapis lazuli is in fact blue diamond. i also think that yellow diamond is jasper,although she said ''yellow diamond needs to see this thing'' i think that she is just hiding it so that the crystal gems dont go crazy and attack. and i also think that rose is pink diamond and that white diamond is the gem shown on the sky arina where connie trains with pearl.
I both do and dont like this theory. There is a fair bit of evidence to back it up, but at the same time there is some to disprove it. First, the way Lapis is treated by Jasper and homeworld doesnt correspond with the way she would be treated if she were part of the authority. She is always referred to by Peridot as an "Informant" implying she is lower in rank. Also, if you consider that the Pink Diamond theory is true, then its safe to assume after Roses revolt that the Pink Diamond symbol was removed from the Diamond authority Symbol, therefore, if Blue Diamond had been absent this whole time, wouldnt the Blue Diamond be absent as well? Id also like to bring up my own theory on gem classes. I believe that the "Diamond" name is just a title, and is the highest level of power. I would then argue that you have a sort of Nobility class, which i believe Lapis is likely to be in, and as such she serves under Blue Diamond in the higher class. Also, Lapis' size doesnt seem to fit either, since when shes fighting rose she is almost the same size as her, and when we compare her to Yellow Diamond in the teaser image, we can see that she is clearly very small in comparison. Im not denying this theory doesn have weight to it, it does, i just dont feel it quite ha enough, and it would be an amazing route to go down. I personally just feel its kind of a bad move.

Also, on that topic, I'm assuming gems go with what they're comfortable looking like in terms of appearance, so maybe while Lapis was trapped in the mirror she felt it would be better to take a different form than her old one if she didn't like it anymore. As for the informant part, idk, maybe she was fired in some way/shape/form or she's some type of old blue diamond.

Rose resisted a lot and lapis just went with the evil, or normal gems. Maybe they didn't remove blue diamond because they thought she could come back. Maybe they thought lapis was stuck in the mirror, but she would still hate the rebellion, maybe even more now. They would really want her after that.

Why does she have to be NAMED Blue Diamond? Who ever said that the 4 leaders were named Yellow, White, Blue, and Pink Diamond? Why can't they just be Yellow Diamond, Rose Quarts, Lapis Lazuli, and whatever the white one is called?
I think lapis is just part of blue diamonds members, but you brought out a lot of amazing points. However jasper treats the authority with respect and she did not do so with lapis. Plus the hair doesn't match the two blue diamond forms in previous episodes. But if she does end up being blue diamond then that's just cool in its own right.
This is actually a theory that makes sense. Kind of. But on thing I do wonder is how she ended up in that mirror? Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst seemed to be genuinely surprised by many aspects of the mirror and the gem in it. Clearly they did not know pretty much... anything. Did Rose put her in the Mirror? Does that seem something Rsoe would even do? Was it another member of the rebellion? Or was it the Homeworld, that decided to punish her for a failure? First off, the Rebellion happened some... 5000 years ago, if I recall. So obviously this mirror used to trap Lapis was not from Earth, since 5000 years back, most mirrors were just polished copper or bronze. So this was a gem mirror... right? Then to the whole name thing. What I would argue, is that "X Diamond" is more akin to a title. So could be that Lapis Lazuli is... Lapis Lazuli, but due to her power was given the title of Blue Diamond. And when she returned, there could be a new Blue Diamond in place, not to mention her whole massive failrue thing, which is why she's treated as a prisoner. If she really had a high standing even by today's count, she would've had a much warmer welcome... also, if Blue Diamond was no longer welcome, wouldn't they have removed her symbol from the insignia like they removed the pink one? (going by the theory that Rose was Pink Diamond) Then you might ask, if they got a new gem to get the title of Blue Diamond, why no new Pink Diamond? Well, maybe that title was completely removed because the whole big pink rebellion, and therefore shame upon the title. No one would want to be associated with that title after the rebellion. So yeah, I find it plausible that Lapis could be Blue Diamond, but I consider "Diamond" to be more of a title.

Why would lapis still be a part of the diamond symbol if she's been missing for so long? Unless they replaced her but that wouldn't explain why she looks so different from the blue diamond in the wall painting. Sure every gem can change their physical appearance but the only resemblance between the two that's even noticeable is the water control ability. Besides, although she proves more powerful than the crystal gems she still has the build of a lower ranking gem. Scrawny, barefoot, etc. But maybe she was a blue diamond follower back when she wasn't a mirror?
I knew Lapis was special since her appearance and since then I was always waiting to see her actually fight back. Another interesting theory is that Yellow Diamond has taken over, the other Diamonds either changed forms or disappeared like White Diamond. But yeah I totally agree that Lapis is Blue Diamond
But, how did Blue Diamond crack? Diamond is the hardest gem. Maybe Rose Quarts did fight her in the past when she was blue diamond, and Rose Quartz is pink diamond because the only thing that can crack diamond is diamond itself? The only thing Lapis was unable to use was her wings, so maybe the crack was to prevent lapis from going back to homeworld and escaping earth, or escaping in general? So my questions: Why the crack? The theory is OK, but, if Rose quartz was pink diamond, and when she rebelled she was kicked out of the diamonds, wouldn't Lapis be removed as well if she was gone for a long time? I mean, she was in Pearl's gem, and there is still a blue diamond. If Lapis IS infact blue diamond she would have been removed from the diamonds when she was gone. And about the picture in the temple, it could have been Rose quartz capturing Lapis in the mirror. But that's just my thoughts.

Altough, Lapis is really powerful and has a blue diamond on her dress. And I sincerely don't know what to think about the diamond shaped water-floor (?) that was formed when Steven freed her from the mirror. She may have something to do with Blue Diamond, but I doubt she is Blue Diamond herself.

+Letícia Pais There's no reason why Jasper would have respect for an ex-royalty, more than she has respect for Rose. Jasper is a brute and dedicated to Yellow Diamond, who now rules and likely has no interest to share that rulership with Blue (or white) Diamond/Lapis Lazuli.
Also, remember that gems can have different shapes when they reform, and she's not been herself for thousands of years. It is not unlikely that her new physical form would be at least quite a bit different from the old one.
The only thing is Jasper is of the Yellow faction and might not like the blue faction

Lapis lazuli was the informative one and jasper was the escort for peridot. Peridot was a gem who knew how to use ship. She even says they are used as that in one of the episodes.

In my opinion, it's possible Lapis Lazuli was a _previous_ Blue Diamond. Diamonds are the titles given to the ruling groups, so it's possible that she was previously a Blue Diamond until she was trapped in the mirror, likely by Rose Quartz (where she was replaced by another Blue Diamond).
Too bad this was disproven. That would've been really exciting if it were true.
I know we allready know this is debunked, but i still wanna give an opinion of why i thought it was wrong before. Think about it, why would era 2 have blue diamonds signal if she hadnt come back for 5,000 years, it just wouldn't make sense.
You should keep whispering in your videos. It makes it more interesting and yet very relaxing, it actually makes the viewer lean in to listen. I mean of course we listen to the video, but having someone as calm and yet so excited about their theory is thrilling for the viewer and the narrator. This is a wonderful theory, and before I've even seen this video I've always thought that Lapis Lazuli was different...in a good way you may put it.

llapis llazuli this is the third time trying to send this -_- so here I go, if the "the diamonds are a fusion" theory is correct that could explain why jasper was so against fusion, because propaganda, the diamonds would want to hide the secret to they power as much as possible, therefore they would discourage its use as much as possible so they don't have another civil war on there hands as in a gems lifespan it would be relatively recent id guess, ether way fusion is a really interesting concept and the amount of fan characters and theories are brilliant

Why do you think it's in a pillow anyways? The reason Lapis was trapped in a mirror was most likely because when her gem was cracked her eye's were like mirrors (which is depicted when she first looked at Steven.)Also do you think that at some point the mirror just appeared around her gem when she most likely "got poofed"?

I give credit to this because the implications on the story. Lapis seems to like Steven a great deal, however seems to feel like he would hate her if he knew more about her. This makes it more tragic because it ties in to Steven's desire to know more about his mother, which is tempered by the fear of who is mother actually was...

Another point to consider: So far in the show, Lapis is the only gem to be able to travel between planets on her own (without the aid of a transportational device, such as the warp pads or a space ship). Other theories I've seen so far have suggested that Rose, if Pink Diamond, may have been in charge of defense during the gem war, as suggested by her shield. As Lapis has only shown her wings (and no additional weapons), it may be that she, or Blue Diamond, was over transportation previously.
Either way, the fact that Lapis can travel between planets by herself is impressive enough to show she might actually be blue diamond.
did you notice in the depiction of rose fighting the enemy gem from serious steven, that there are lines that seem to be sucking the enemy gem into the object rose is holding, and the object appears to be a mirror?

Actually, we have seen a gem that is white-ish in color - Desert Glass. Following the pattern of the "fallen" diamonds taking names of non-precious minerals like Lapis Lazuli and Rose Quartz, it is not inconceivable that the last of the diamonds would be Desert Glass. Also, much like Lapis, she's been imprisoned in an object instead of being bubbled, and like Lapis, she's shown to have great telekinetic power which none of the monstrous corrupted gems have had.
I'm not saying it is her, but I don't think we can completely discount the possibility.

Well, if Lapis was Blue Diamond, then there's a good chance that she would fake to try to get the gems to come back to home world, so that they could more easily take what they wanted from earth, or so that Lapis could earn back some of her former prestige. Otherwise, why would Lapis even be on the ship, and not at home world? Jasper and Peridot would have been able to communicate with her if it was necessary with their high tech equipment. Usually you don't pack powerful prisoners off to where they could escape.
The thing that gets my is that Jasper referred to Yellow Diamond as "Yellow Diamond" If gems called them by their gem and color wouldn't they referred to Lapis as "Blue Diamond".

Another detail nobody seems to notice. Notice how quickly Lapis reformed after being released, it was almost instantaneous versus every other gem that needed from hours to days to reform. Lapis' crack was larger than Amethyst's yet she was perfectly capable of sustaining a form while Amethyst was falling apart. Pearl also made it clear that if a gem is cracked it cannot regenerate, yet Lapis not only regenerated instantly, but was also able to summon her elemental powers and best the Crystal Gems. This must mean that the gem is capable of projecting much larger masses and accomplishing larger feats. ( as demonstrated in the Mural that Blue Diamond is taller than Rose Quartz.) Common knowledge will tell us that Diamond is harder than Amethyst.
I think Lapis was originally a servant of Blue Diamond, or at the very least, a high-ranking member of Homeworld's army, which is why she's so powerful and why she told the CG's "Do you even know who I used to be?" However, times have clearly changed on Homeworld, and like so many veterans, she received less than a hero's welcome once she got back. I don't know how long they tortured her (or even if they tortured her), but she must have spilled all she knew. About her imprisonment, Steven, Earth, everything. Peridot probably confirmed it when Steven and the others showed up at the Kindergarten.

I love the fact that she is whispering. I just so much enjoy listening to whispers, it's really a music to my ears.
Theory: I heard someone mention that diamonds can't be broken, they can by other diamonds. What if yellow diamond became greedy with power and wanted blue diamond (lapis) out of the way. She quite possibly sent her on a mission to test the humans and ran into Rose (pink diamond). In an effort to defeat her, lapis tried to attack her but in the end, every attack she threw, rose deflected. Finally she gave up and listened to what rose had to say. Rose would then reform her and lapis would return to home world to speak to white diamond about giving up on the kindergartens and the humans. Yellow diamond would then run into her and would be shocked that she returned alive, once hearing her idea about what to do with earth, she was outraged and sent her on one last mission, from which she got trapped and was presumed dead/lost. Her symbol was kept up as a sigh of respect or hope of her return.
I've always been intrigued by Lapis' line "I never believed in this world."

The "trouble" that Lapis caused was withholding information about Steven, and by extention, Rose Quartz. That's more than likely the reason Jasper threw her in the prison cell for the return trip.

Pretty interesting... but... nope, just can't see it, Jasper spoke to her as an underling and even referred to her as Lapis, which I doubt she would call her if she knew who she really was. The mural was pretty strong with the water, but it's implied that there are thousands of the same gems, so powers must collide at some point, blue diamond might just have a similar power (maybe even stronger as in the mural they aren't depicted to be near the ocean, so maybe she can make her own water), and the diamonds are used everywhere in the show, not just with Lapis, every time a gem summons a weapon it sparkles with diamonds, even the stars are shaped like diamonds. It's purely stylistic. There can be a powerful gem without them being a diamond, plus she's completely useless without her water, which I doubt would be useful on many places but earth as most planets in our solar system do not have water present, such a weakness doesn't seem like something a diamond would have.
And I have no idea why you were whispering, but maybe work your schedule around times you can speak loudly because I could barely hear you and your breathe covered up your speech a lot. :)
The strongest point in my opinion was the fact that when Lapis was broken from the mirror there was pretty obviously a facet of a diamond forming from the water. that's pretty hard to argue. But again, it might just be a stylistic choice.

To people wondering why Homeworld and the Crystals would both treat Blue Diamond so poorly - I think her biggest crime was abstaining from the war. And it could explain why blue diamond is still on the crest. Rose rebelled totally and completely and likely disowned the Diamonds on her own. But Lapis didn't disown Homeworld by refusing to fight. She just didn't fight. Which for a race born to fight is probably quite the affront but given her status she likely wouldn't be disowned or cast of the crest for it.
I just thought of something after you mentioned that lapis lazuli dissolves in water. I don't know if you've seen Titanic, but one very iconic piece in the story was the Blue Hope Diamond. At the end of the movie it got tossed into the ocean. I don't think Titanic and Steven Universe are connected like that, I just saw a pattern of Blue Diamonds and ocean being connected somehow

In that picture inside the temple, Rose held up that square in her hands and it looked like she was protecting the gems or humans or whatever from the diamond character. But we also see a sort of wind sucking towards the item in Rose's hands. That could imply that Rose was using the item (maybe the mirror) to suck in and capture the diamond character to protect the other gems or humans. So it's just a thought but maybe Blue Diamond went rogue and left home world and ended up finding Rose on earth and fighting her, knowing that she was of high rank and might give away where the diamond was going to hide. And Rose could have already been banished from the diamonds and thought that Blue diamond was coming to surprise attack her and had to protect the gems or people and decided to capture Blue diamond to keep her quiet and away from home world or harming anyone (implying Lapis' many years trapped in the mirror), but because of Blue diamond's (maybe Lapis') power Rose couldn't do it with normal means (bubbling) and instead fused Blue diamond to the mirror with her gem.

It's a cool theory, but blue diamond is still in high esteem with homeworld, so homeworld gems would still respect her, and certainly be able to recognize her gemstone. Now gems can change their physical appearance, but not that of their gem at will, so Jasper would recognize Blue Diamond's gem instantly and would not treat her the way she does Lapis. It's also a safe bet that all diamonds share a similar gem cut, we've never seen Rose's gem by itself, but it's a fair assumption to say that it is in the typical "cone" shape that diamonds have in rings, with one side flat, the side we see, and the other a point, the side we haven't seen. I'd guess that each diamond would have a cut like this, but we won't know until we see Yellow. I've found quite a few fan theories from Steven Universe interesting and I can see the possibility behind Rose being Pink Diamond, Lion being some part of Rose and others, but I see this one as being nearly impossible. But if I'm wrong then I'll come back and admit it and apologize.

There is also a theory that Yellow Diamond may have the power to control fire, based on what we see in the mural. Now think about it, if Lapis could do all this crap with a cracked gem and thousands of years out of practice, what can Yellow Diamond do?
It's a good theory. I just have one main question; Why would they imprison a diamond and treat an authority member in such a way if Lapis is a Blue Diamond? It seems obvious that gems can recognize certain gems or statuses to an extent, meaning they would most likely recognize her as either a diamond or something more than a "brat" like Jasper called her.
Idk if its just me but the mural scene didn't look like rose was blocking an attack it looked more like rose was sucking blue diamond into what can be assumed to be the mirror because of the lines out of the object and because of the size of it, because rose is about 8ft and the other gems was about the same size it doesn't make sense that the other gem would make such a small focused attack.
I've actually been considering this myself. :D very well-spotted with the diamond-like water formation beneath steven's feet while pulling her gem from the mirror. But you forgot one important detail. I also believe that she's Blue Diamond because she specifically says to Steven "Nobody from Homeworld remembers me." Although the trifecta of blue, yellow, and white remains, they don't remember who she used to be. What could this mean? Did Rose make them believe she was dead? I can imagine a transfixed Lapis stumbling around Homeworld, shouting that she's the Queen, and she gets caught and says, "I can prove it! Take me back to Earth and I can prove it!" Jasper and Peridot are grudgingly assigned to do it.
I think this theory is pretty solid, BUT rose's diamond (if she is in fact pink diamond) was taken out of the diamond symbol seeing as she was shunned by being a rebel leader. Surely if lapis was causing so much trouble, the blue diamond would have also been removed. One way around that I guess is by saying that she was assumed to have died in the war and so they kept her diamond as a mark of respect

***** True, but she was able to hand the crystal gems' asses easily, something even Jasper hasn't successfully done. If garnet can beat Jasper, but not Lapiz (when her gem was broken), it still shows she's still far stronger than your average gem. Especially, with a fully fixed gem. Hell, I could argue, she could have easily defeated Peridot and Jasper if she wanted to(which is evident from her still being able to maintain dominance over Jasper when they are fused) , but she was way too depressed.

I think that the reason why Lapis' water clones were stopped is because Diamond's have the power to dispell the effect of lesser gems, which would imply that Lapis isn't a Blue Diamond.
However, it could imply that Lapis was infact a servant/slave to Blue Diamond, since when Steven tried to pull out the gem from mirror, the water formed the symbol that resembled diamond cleavage, probably saying that Lapis was sealed into the mirror yb Blue Diamond. Maybe she had other gems that could manipulate other elements under her control.
Also, the statue in Sky arena would imply that Blue Diamond has a round afro and carried a giant mace.
Turmoil I noticed that Steven stopped the clones in the same way he stopped the TV set in that ep where Amethyst and Greg watch Little Butler -- they are arguing, Am morphs into Rose, then Greg is upset and Steven yells "STOP" and the TV set cuts out. He has done this other times, so I hypothesis that one of his powers is to disrupt operations of others -- Lapis' water clones, the TV set, electronic devices and so on. RE the temple mural -- I thought that looked like the Yellow Diamond they have in that teaser, because of the hairdo; but I do see the water likeness.

All though your theory is not entirely correct I think it was a very good idea it got me thinking as well about lapis and her history I always check back to your Chanel to see if you have posted new videos but sadly you don't please please please do I would love to see your other ideas :)
She's not blue diamond, but she does have a blue diamond on her dress, meaning she could be working for blue diamond.
I think that yellow and blue diamond are going to be yellow and blue topaz respectively. The emblem puts them on the same level, suggesting they are equal to each other in strength and purpose, and physically topaz is one of the strongest gemstones below diamond in hardness. It doesn't make sense that Lapis is blue diamond since she was absent from home world since the rebellion in the mirror and gem society has managed to progress without her. Lapis was also not respected as she was treated as a lackie by Jasper and Peridot.

What if she was replaced by a new blue diamond, because we no longer see any pink diamond references once rose left (assuming that is correct) so when she returned she threw off the power order of home world, because now there are 4 top tier level gems instead of the 3 they had just gotten used to thanks to the loss of pink diamond (what ever the reason for that might be)

For starters, it would all kinda add up if lapis was indeed blue diamond. But at the same time, pink diamond was removed from the diamonds after she gave birth to Steven (according to the rose is pink diamond theory. ). In the episode where lapis gets a hold of steven after she leaves earth, she says everyone had forgoten her, and moved on. It would make more sense if this where true, she would have been removed from the diamond authority due to absence. Thus, removing the blue triangle on the ships symbol.
I think Lapis was the heir to blue diamond before being literally back-stabbed and put in the mirror. This is why she sees Homeworld as her home but has trouble accepting how much it has changed. It also explains her Moses-inspired ocean split in the episode she was introduced.

Well, if the fact that actual Lapis dissolves in water and produces toxin is any sort of possible solid evidence, you could reasonably conclude that Lapis Lazuli is her true identity, as this trait carries over to Malachite... Very interesting way of looking at Lapis, though. I always thought that Lars' lighthouse ghost gem was the corrupted form of Blue Diamond, but this is much more interesting...

The fusions (Opal and Sardonyx) are the most powerful gems we've seen so far. Both Garnet and Pearl beat their respective clones in a matter of seconds. The only thing they couldn't do was for Lapis to not reform their clones. Hell Pearl fought two clones. Not only that, but the earth is probally the best place for Lapis to fighting, seeing as Earth is mostly water, take away a constant source of water. Lapis gets beat by even amethyst (the only gem she beat with her water clones)
Yes I know the water clones kept on reforming. BUT neither Garnet or Pearls clones were able to keep up with their counter parts. Garnet and Pearl where clearly controlling that fight. And if the clones were "Normal" then they would've lost a hundred times over. Garnet punche her clones head off, and Pearl sliced hers in two in like ten seconds.

You might not be right. Why would they put Blue diamond on the newer gem tech if they knew he/she was missing? Also, Lapis has the ability to control water, what somebody named lapis might be able to do. This proves that she is really just lapis, unlike Rose quartz, who changed her name from pink diamond after she rebelled, so that they could not find her. But after many years, Peridot was sent out with jasper to find them. This theory is most likely wrong. Also, Please, next time you record, you should be in a place where you can speak as loudly as you want, and have nobody bother you, along with not having an echo. I suggest you tell everyone in the house you're going to be recording, then go into your closet/a closet.
i think you are right because there is dozens of signs that lapis lazuli is in fact blue diamond. i also think that yellow diamond is jasper,although she said ''yellow diamond needs to see this thing'' i think that she is just hiding it so that the crystal gems dont go crazy and attack. and i also think that rose is pink diamond and that white diamond is the gem shown on the sky arina where connie trains with pearl.
I both do and dont like this theory. There is a fair bit of evidence to back it up, but at the same time there is some to disprove it. First, the way Lapis is treated by Jasper and homeworld doesnt correspond with the way she would be treated if she were part of the authority. She is always referred to by Peridot as an "Informant" implying she is lower in rank. Also, if you consider that the Pink Diamond theory is true, then its safe to assume after Roses revolt that the Pink Diamond symbol was removed from the Diamond authority Symbol, therefore, if Blue Diamond had been absent this whole time, wouldnt the Blue Diamond be absent as well?
Id also like to bring up my own theory on gem classes. I believe that the "Diamond" name is just a title, and is the highest level of power. I would then argue that you have a sort of Nobility class, which i believe Lapis is likely to be in, and as such she serves under Blue Diamond in the higher class. Also, Lapis' size doesnt seem to fit either, since when shes fighting rose she is almost the same size as her, and when we compare her to Yellow Diamond in the teaser image, we can see that she is clearly very small in comparison.
Im not denying this theory doesn have weight to it, it does, i just dont feel it quite ha enough, and it would be an amazing route to go down. I personally just feel its kind of a bad move.

Also, on that topic, I'm assuming gems go with what they're comfortable looking like in terms of appearance, so maybe while Lapis was trapped in the mirror she felt it would be better to take a different form than her old one if she didn't like it anymore. As for the informant part, idk, maybe she was fired in some way/shape/form or she's some type of old blue diamond.

Rose resisted a lot and lapis just went with the evil, or normal gems. Maybe they didn't remove blue diamond because they thought she could come back. Maybe they thought lapis was stuck in the mirror, but she would still hate the rebellion, maybe even more now. They would really want her after that.

I think lapis is just part of blue diamonds members, but you brought out a lot of amazing points. However jasper treats the authority with respect and she did not do so with lapis. Plus the hair doesn't match the two blue diamond forms in previous episodes. But if she does end up being blue diamond then that's just cool in its own right.

This is actually a theory that makes sense. Kind of. But on thing I do wonder is how she ended up in that mirror? Pearl, Garnet and Amethyst seemed to be genuinely surprised by many aspects of the mirror and the gem in it. Clearly they did not know pretty much... anything.
Did Rose put her in the Mirror? Does that seem something Rsoe would even do? Was it another member of the rebellion? Or was it the Homeworld, that decided to punish her for a failure? First off, the Rebellion happened some... 5000 years ago, if I recall. So obviously this mirror used to trap Lapis was not from Earth, since 5000 years back, most mirrors were just polished copper or bronze. So this was a gem mirror... right?
Then to the whole name thing. What I would argue, is that "X Diamond" is more akin to a title. So could be that Lapis Lazuli is... Lapis Lazuli, but due to her power was given the title of Blue Diamond. And when she returned, there could be a new Blue Diamond in place, not to mention her whole massive failrue thing, which is why she's treated as a prisoner. If she really had a high standing even by today's count, she would've had a much warmer welcome... also, if Blue Diamond was no longer welcome, wouldn't they have removed her symbol from the insignia like they removed the pink one? (going by the theory that Rose was Pink Diamond)
Then you might ask, if they got a new gem to get the title of Blue Diamond, why no new Pink Diamond? Well, maybe that title was completely removed because the whole big pink rebellion, and therefore shame upon the title. No one would want to be associated with that title after the rebellion.

03koekje I noticed though, that Lapis did not mirror Lion. Lion was fighting with Steven mirror-beings. People have theorized that Rose's spirit is within Lion and she shares his body, or such. Maybe Lapis can only mirror gems though. But Lion is a mystery

Why would lapis still be a part of the diamond symbol if she's been missing for so long? Unless they replaced her but that wouldn't explain why she looks so different from the blue diamond in the wall painting. Sure every gem can change their physical appearance but the only resemblance between the two that's even noticeable is the water control ability. Besides, although she proves more powerful than the crystal gems she still has the build of a lower ranking gem. Scrawny, barefoot, etc. But maybe she was a blue diamond follower back when she wasn't a mirror?

I knew Lapis was special since her appearance and since then I was always waiting to see her actually fight back. Another interesting theory is that Yellow Diamond has taken over, the other Diamonds either changed forms or disappeared like White Diamond. But yeah I totally agree that Lapis is Blue Diamond
But, how did Blue Diamond crack? Diamond is the hardest gem. Maybe Rose Quarts did fight her in the past when she was blue diamond, and Rose Quartz is pink diamond because the only thing that can crack diamond is diamond itself?
The only thing Lapis was unable to use was her wings, so maybe the crack was to prevent lapis from going back to homeworld and escaping earth, or escaping in general?
So my questions: Why the crack? Why in a mirror? Why not tell the gems who she was? Meaning Rose fought Lapis or Blue Diamond even before she met the crystal gems? Maybe Blue Diamond is the reason the war on earth even started? I DON'T KNOW!
