I think that if we do see Peridot fuse, it will be with Lapis. Lapis doesn't want to fuse because of her previous experiences with Jasper, but we know Lapis will return. It's possible that they both will be put in a situation where they're not powerful enough against an enemy on their own and when Lapis is apologizing to Peridot, it happens by accident. If this happens, it will be more of a one-time thing and only because they both wanted to protect something (or someone, likely Steven.) Neither want to fuse and they would only do so if they absolutely had to.
Or they may attempt to fuse, but fail and realize that neither of them want to even though they care about each other , and then find a way to fight for what they want as a team and not a fusion.
I cant say for sure if Peridot will ever fuse, but I disagree with your premise. Fusion isnt sex, its an expression of a relationship. Thats why Lapis and Jasper were able to fuse into a monster, their relationship was horrible so they became their relationship: horrible. Keep in mind too that as the relationship evolves so too does the gem; Garnet looked a lot difference when they first fused, a jumble of colors because their emotions were a jumble. Now that their relationship is stable and orderly so too is the fusion because again, fusion *IS* the relationship, not just metaphorically but physically. Therefore even though many fusions are used to display sexual relationships some such as Smokey Quartz can also be completely platonic relationships. Therefore Peridot can fuse if she so chooses, since she does have relationships with the other characters. On a side note, I believe this is the reason why gem soldiers who fuse just turn into bigger versions of themselves, not because theyre mixing two of the same gem but because their relationship is a boring work relationship so their fusion form is just a larger form of themselves to better get the job done. I believe its possible for two gems of the same type to fuse into something completely new if their relationship is something more interesting, because if the fusion is the relationship and the relationship is interesting it follows that the fusion is interesting. Keep in mind most of this is backed by Garnet, who claims she isnt a person but a relationship, even going so far as to say shes a conversation in her song.
Even if she is the representation of asexuality, she can still fuse. Fusion can represent any relationship. It doesn't have to be romantic. WE CAN STILL HOPE TO SEE PERIDOT FUSE

According to Michaela Dietz, Zach Callison has a theory that if Peridot and Steven fuse their fusion would just be even smaller, and adding Amethyst in would shrink the fusion even further but make them louder; Michaela and McKenzie Atwood agree that the idea would be good for the show as being small would help them infiltrate places

I think it is all a misunderstanding. The book refers to Peridot at a moment in time, it doesn't address future events. Plus, I believe Peridot didn't want to fuse with Garnet because A) Garnet is already a fusion and B) she simply wasn't ready to fuse. Maybe she will be more comfortable fusing with someone who is single like her.
As an aromantic asexual, I appreciate that Vox talked about it in the video when discussing how maybe Peridot could be representing that in relation terms so much and it gave me a bit to think about with Peridot.

Wasn't that the same episode where she tried on some alien shorts, then ripped them in half? There's gotta be a reason why they specifically showed Peridot wearing those shorts in the book, especially since I don't think she could have or would have tried them on again after that first time.
Yeah, I feel like that's the reason why she was shown there, and like what darth bart said, they wore those shorts in that episode, where she backed out. I feel as though its possible for Peridot to fuse, its just the gem she is closest too has a recent bad experience with it
...but you said it yourself; fusion represents relationships. Peridot could very well fuse. It She may not have an interest in doing it herself so much, but that doesn't mean someone like Peridot who can be very goal oriented wouldn't be adverse to fusing for the sake of completing a task or in an emergency. If she does, that doesn't mean she's not asexual or anything. Her fusion would likely be a working relationship, like among coworkers or comrades in arms, or maybe a close friendship.
I think both. Peridot is Ace, so she might not consciously think about fusion. I'm thinking it's going to be a "Heat Of The Moment" type thing, where everyone is locked in battle and she goes to tackle someone to save them. Probably Steven or Amethyst.

I don't care if Peridot fuses. What I do care about is her character continuing to grow and develop. I see quite a bit of myself in her in terms of trying to understand the world, love of using technology, intelligence, silly behavior in some cases, and struggling with social situations and ques. I attached to her for that reason. And the fact other gems did not expect much out of her on Homeworld actually reflects that at one point, my parents and everyone else around me, despite having high hopes for my future, did not expect me to ever get as far as I did. No one expected me to graduate high school and go to college. But here I am, a Sophomore in college. And Peridot developed Magnetic powers and probably telekinesis in general if it ever gets expanded upon.

Not all ace people are single and not all single people (regardless of their sexual relations/attractions) are lonely. They can still have romantic relationships if they want. Sex is just a single, optional, part of a romantic relationship, so people can be completely asexual and still have full, loving, complete relationships. :)
You know, I'm the last person who'll say Fusion = Sex. In fact when people claim that I actively argue against it. Fusions = Relationships, and sex can be a part of some relationships, but not all. But if Peridot never fused and that somehow represented her being ace, I would be all for it, as someone on the spectrum myself. Still, I want to see *A* Peridot fusion in the show. That is, if it's not out Peridot, then show a different one fusing. Like how Rhodonite's appearance in the show let us know what would happen if Ruby and Pearl fused without actually including it in the story, because that wouldn't make any sense (but fans are still curious, so I'm glad we got our answer to that question). I always hate when relationships have to be exclusively romantic or sexual. I don't like it. I always saw rhodonite to be a qpr (queer platonic relationship) but everyone is like they have to be in love in a romantic way. You can love some just as much as someone loves there significant other in a completely platonic way. Like a platonic soul mate. But society is so focused on romantic and sexual relationships being the end all be all, a lot of time it just gets shut down.

The Natrix 101 That sounds like you're describing erectile dysfunction which is feeling sexually charged but being unable to get it up. Asexuality means that's just don't feel like having sex and the need just doesn't come which isn't a problem. It isn't exactly linked in with Aromantic which means you aren't interested in people romantically, a sort of example of how these are linked: Asexuals can be romantically involved. Aromantics can be sexually involved. Being sexually and romantically attracted with another are quite different and one doesn't have to lead to another.
I was actually thinking, "How would Peridot try to match fusion in her way?" And then I thought of the giant mech-suits Pearl and Peridot built in competition: she would fuse the best parts of both into a bigger, better suit! Pearl would probably be flattered and proud. I think.
As a panro/ace I almost cried during this. Peri is my favorite character because I relate to her the most, and although I do want to see a fusion with our Peridot, I would still be very happy if you’re theory is true.
Fusion requires full understanding of each party, which is why they split when gems are arguing in a fusion (garnet can split without the relationship ending). Peridot is fairly well known as a representation of an ASD character, and many asd people struggle to achieve that level of understanding with others. I think that's why, even if she wants to, she can't fuse. I'm not trying to insult people who are on the spectrum, I honestly think it's a really clever way to portray some of the struggles peridot may have as an asd gem
I do think that lapidot probably won’t happen unless in a dire situation. Peridot never expressed any wanting to fuse, and lapis is probably still messed up from fusing with jasper.
I'm in love with this theory. As someone who struggled with their feelings before discovering asexuality and the difference between aromantic and asexuality, it's really special to me to see it being brought up more and having asexual character representation. :)
I'd like to see Peridot fuse with Bismuth. They both seem to hit it off pretty well at the start and a fusion with metal powers and ability to create things of metal would be interesting to see.
I personally DON'T want to see Peridot fuse, not because I don't like Peridot, but because it seems very clear that it won't happen. Look, I can be a fan of the show and still also see what seems very clear from a writer's prespective - if Peridot would fuse with anyone, it would most likely be Lapis (and no, I'm not a fan of the nonexistent within the show Lapidot), however I don't see Lapis fusing PERIOD. For both of them, fusion is still a taboo subject and a traumatic experience - Peri might be on Team Crystal Gem, but that doesn't mean she's completely shaken long held views from living and serving on Homeworld. Even Pearl and Garnet are subject to this, not just their views on humans, but their ingrained views from HW. If we go and believe the consensus that Garnet was the first ever cross-fusion (which I do), it means the idea of fusing with anyone not of your type is still an uncomfortable thought and sight. But But Peri was so happy about Smoky Quartz, you shout! Yes. Yes, she was however that doesn't mean she was happy about FUSING, she was happy about her two friends - Steven and Amethyst - fusing to take down Jasper. I mean, she didn't show as much excitement when Jasper was corrupted by fusing with a corrupted gem (I'm not even going to go thru the reasons why bringing Jasper back is ridiculous and most likely fan service). I mean, she's also happy to see Garnet (who isn't!?) because she respects her and Garnet is her friend. Also, I love fusion as the next person, but I don't need to see it done by everyone and their mothers. Especially when Garnet seemed very clear in her explanation on fusion - trust, love, and consent. However, just because you have that DOESN'T mean you need or have to fuse. Like the book says, maybe you don't want to fuse. That's cool! And I would be surprised if that wasn't aimed at fans who feel the unquenchable need to fuse every character in the show with every character in the show, regardless if they can fuse or not.
I don't even see Amethyst. Again, this isn't about closeness, it's about 1. the stigma of fusion and 2. the WANT of fusion. Peridot, even when offered, doesn't seem to get excited about fusion the way, say Amethyst does or even Steven. She's just gotten to the point of accepting the fact that the Crystal Gems and those she calls friends are able to fuse. That doesn't mean SHE wants to fuse and really, we've seen the result of someone being in a fusion they didn't want to truly be in/only did for the sake of the other person. CONSENT is a HUGE thing for fusion, complete and utter yeses on BOTH sides - half assed consent does NOT count.

Fusion has metaphoric connotations to various relationships, like Garnet's romantic, Stevonnie's best friends, Smoky Quartzes sibling-like, etc., so it is not so much shipping as much as an expression of how the characters relate. Also, I am pretty sure Vox said that in the video, but I might be thinking of what Mono Chaos commented.

*Year 2, day 734, March 6th, 2018.* We to this day wait for Peridot to get her star, after the conformation twice, once from Shelby, once from Rebecca herself. (technically) There have been countless opportunities such as "The kindergarten kid" which aired all the way back in August of 2016, also of course, the season 3 premiere, Log date 7 15 2, was the first time it was teased. We have yet to gaze upon this outfit as I have been rotting away waiting. Be it she ever fuses or not, the star is the only thing I desire to see before anything else happens, until then, adios amigos.

While I love the idea of someone representing the asexuals/aromantics, I don't think that it is an indication of whether Peridot wants to fuse or not. After all fusion isn't only about romantic relationships. Steven and Amethyst literally bonded over being the worst. I believe peridot won't be able to fuse with any gem until she first fuses with steven. As by fusing with steven it somehow "fixes" an issue she had. Possibly even resulting in her re gaining minor shape shifting abilities.
She was never scary to me. Maybe a little cold, but a green, business oriented gem isn't scary. The gem mutants are the closest the show has gotten to traditionally "scary" (in the off-putting sense).

I figured that Amethyst was also asexual considering the colours associated with her are on the asexual flag, honestly if Peridot never fused I'd probably love her more. As someone who's demisexual (a shade of asexuality) and relates strongly to Peridot, I think if she never fused romantically or at all I might just lose my mind from absurd happiness~
Hi It’s Fishy The asexual flag is black, grey, white and purple. All of these are colours Amethyst wears at one point or another and are normally associated with her, she’s metaphorically a walking asexual flag. Did this help?

Honestly, I can’t see anything that isn’t platonic coming out of Peri, considering her personality and how she reacted to some approaches from others throughout the series. And I think this would be an amazing way of asexual or maybe aromantic representation in media (which is rare, btw)! I’m kinda tired of people neglecting strong friendships to only care for romantic relationships. Also, this wouldn’t necessarily kill the Lapidot ship. Lapis could be Peridot’s squish ;)

I was quite happy when I saw Rhodonite, because I'd always wondered about ruby and sapphire fusing with the other crystal gems without each other. We can certainly see that they both care for the other crystal gems, so I don't think it's impossible, but it's quite rare that we even see ruby and sapphire unfused, much less separated.

Sylvia Jones That doesn’t make sense. Asexual would imply that all gems inherently don’t want to have a sexual relationship. The issue is that is that Rose was pregnant with Steven. The process of pregnancy involves sex so Rose can’t be an asexual so that means gems can’t be inherently asexual. Plus I don’t think all gems should be limited to being one thing since gems are meant to be individuals with different preferences and personalities.
Ryan Carson asexual means without natural desire of having sex, it doesn't mean in anyway that asexuals are incapable of sex, or even that under no circumstances would an asexual ever have sex, there are different types, some asexuals are okay with having sex so I don't see why that would prevent rose from doing it once for such a huge and personal purpose as to create another being. Plus I see gems as being asexual in a basic design way rather than how humans would normally define sexual orientation, inherent because they're gems with no reproductional purpose or capability as they're non-organic lifeforms. But from a story standpoint I agree that they should and have differences, but in my personal opinion only within the general asexual bubble, for example I do think that amethyst presents herself more sexually personality-wise such as with her dancing and attitude, in the asexual community generally there can be 3 subdivisions if you're generalising and simplifying as humans do, which would be sex repulsed, indifferent and positive asexuals, which means some even like sex but not from sexual desire but for other reasons which I get is quite a difficult to understand but I think a good analogy would be the fact that amethyst enjoys eating, her desire to eat isn't based on hunger or a need but for weird reasons like she likes the way it grossly passes through her body, which I think is a good enough representation, at least it's the only one I could think of that makes any sense. So in that way I think amethyst is more sexually prone than some other gems like pearl who also coincidentally is repulsed by the idea of eating (unless it's not a coincidence hmmm). Anyway that's what I believe anyway, but I'm explaining this as my own belief and I don't expect you to suddenly believe it all yourself I'd just like my own view to be understood, I understand you and every SU fan has a slightly different view on the matter, were all different with different views and beliefs, and isn't that what Rose and the show in general is trying to teach us about the beauty of humanity being in our differences? Sorry if this sounds a little holier than thou because that wasn't at all my intent. Sorry for the long message too :)

I cant say for sure if Peridot will ever fuse, but I disagree with your premise.
Fusion isnt sex, its an expression of a relationship. Thats why Lapis and Jasper were able to fuse into a monster, their relationship was horrible so they became their relationship: horrible.
Keep in mind too that as the relationship evolves so too does the gem; Garnet looked a lot difference when they first fused, a jumble of colors because their emotions were a jumble. Now that their relationship is stable and orderly so too is the fusion because again, fusion *IS* the relationship, not just metaphorically but physically.
Therefore even though many fusions are used to display sexual relationships some such as Smokey Quartz can also be completely platonic relationships. Therefore Peridot can fuse if she so chooses, since she does have relationships with the other characters.
On a side note, I believe this is the reason why gem soldiers who fuse just turn into bigger versions of themselves, not because theyre mixing two of the same gem but because their relationship is a boring work relationship so their fusion form is just a larger form of themselves to better get the job done. I believe its possible for two gems of the same type to fuse into something completely new if their relationship is something more interesting, because if the fusion is the relationship and the relationship is interesting it follows that the fusion is interesting.
Keep in mind most of this is backed by Garnet, who claims she isnt a person but a relationship, even going so far as to say shes a conversation in her song.

According to Michaela Dietz, Zach Callison has a theory that if Peridot and Steven fuse their fusion would just be even smaller, and adding Amethyst in would shrink the fusion even further but make them louder; Michaela and McKenzie Atwood agree that the idea would be good for the show as being small would help them infiltrate places
But we see Amethyst shrink to fit into a shell. If they fuse, eventually having multiple gems becomes a hasle.

I think it is all a misunderstanding. The book refers to Peridot at a moment in time, it doesn't address future events. Plus, I believe Peridot didn't want to fuse with Garnet because A) Garnet is already a fusion and B) she simply wasn't ready to fuse. Maybe she will be more comfortable fusing with someone who is single like her.

...but you said it yourself; fusion represents relationships. Peridot could very well fuse. It She may not have an interest in doing it herself so much, but that doesn't mean someone like Peridot who can be very goal oriented wouldn't be adverse to fusing for the sake of completing a task or in an emergency. If she does, that doesn't mean she's not asexual or anything. Her fusion would likely be a working relationship, like among coworkers or comrades in arms, or maybe a close friendship.

I don't care if Peridot fuses. What I do care about is her character continuing to grow and develop. I see quite a bit of myself in her in terms of trying to understand the world, love of using technology, intelligence, silly behavior in some cases, and struggling with social situations and ques. I attached to her for that reason. And the fact other gems did not expect much out of her on Homeworld actually reflects that at one point, my parents and everyone else around me, despite having high hopes for my future, did not expect me to ever get as far as I did. No one expected me to graduate high school and go to college. But here I am, a Sophomore in college. And Peridot developed Magnetic powers and probably telekinesis in general if it ever gets expanded upon.

Not all ace people are single and not all single people (regardless of their sexual relations/attractions) are lonely. They can still have romantic relationships if they want. Sex is just a single, optional, part of a romantic relationship, so people can be completely asexual and still have full, loving, complete relationships. :)

You know, I'm the last person who'll say Fusion = Sex. In fact when people claim that I actively argue against it. Fusions = Relationships, and sex can be a part of some relationships, but not all. But if Peridot never fused and that somehow represented her being ace, I would be all for it, as someone on the spectrum myself.
Still, I want to see *A* Peridot fusion in the show. That is, if it's not out Peridot, then show a different one fusing. Like how Rhodonite's appearance in the show let us know what would happen if Ruby and Pearl fused without actually including it in the story, because that wouldn't make any sense (but fans are still curious, so I'm glad we got our answer to that question).

I always hate when relationships have to be exclusively romantic or sexual. I don't like it. I always saw rhodonite to be a qpr (queer platonic relationship) but everyone is like they have to be in love in a romantic way. You can love some just as much as someone loves there significant other in a completely platonic way. Like a platonic soul mate. But society is so focused on romantic and sexual relationships being the end all be all, a lot of time it just gets shut down.

Asexuality means that's just don't feel like having sex and the need just doesn't come which isn't a problem. It isn't exactly linked in with Aromantic which means you aren't interested in people romantically, a sort of example of how these are linked:
Asexuals can be romantically involved.
Aromantics can be sexually involved.
Being sexually and romantically attracted with another are quite different and one doesn't have to lead to another.

Fusion requires full understanding of each party, which is why they split when gems are arguing in a fusion (garnet can split without the relationship ending). Peridot is fairly well known as a representation of an ASD character, and many asd people struggle to achieve that level of understanding with others. I think that's why, even if she wants to, she can't fuse. I'm not trying to insult people who are on the spectrum, I honestly think it's a really clever way to portray some of the struggles peridot may have as an asd gem

I'm in love with this theory. As someone who struggled with their feelings before discovering asexuality and the difference between aromantic and asexuality, it's really special to me to see it being brought up more and having asexual character representation. :)
I'd like to see Peridot fuse with Bismuth. They both seem to hit it off pretty well at the start and a fusion with metal powers and ability to create things of metal would be interesting to see.

I personally DON'T want to see Peridot fuse, not because I don't like Peridot, but because it seems very clear that it won't happen. Look, I can be a fan of the show and still also see what seems very clear from a writer's prespective - if Peridot would fuse with anyone, it would most likely be Lapis (and no, I'm not a fan of the nonexistent within the show Lapidot), however I don't see Lapis fusing PERIOD. For both of them, fusion is still a taboo subject and a traumatic experience - Peri might be on Team Crystal Gem, but that doesn't mean she's completely shaken long held views from living and serving on Homeworld. Even Pearl and Garnet are subject to this, not just their views on humans, but their ingrained views from HW.
If we go and believe the consensus that Garnet was the first ever cross-fusion (which I do), it means the idea of fusing with anyone not of your type is still an uncomfortable thought and sight. But But Peri was so happy about Smoky Quartz, you shout! Yes. Yes, she was however that doesn't mean she was happy about FUSING, she was happy about her two friends - Steven and Amethyst - fusing to take down Jasper. I mean, she didn't show as much excitement when Jasper was corrupted by fusing with a corrupted gem (I'm not even going to go thru the reasons why bringing Jasper back is ridiculous and most likely fan service). I mean, she's also happy to see Garnet (who isn't!?) because she respects her and Garnet is her friend.
Also, I love fusion as the next person, but I don't need to see it done by everyone and their mothers. Especially when Garnet seemed very clear in her explanation on fusion - trust, love, and consent. However, just because you have that DOESN'T mean you need or have to fuse. Like the book says, maybe you don't want to fuse. That's cool! And I would be surprised if that wasn't aimed at fans who feel the unquenchable need to fuse every character in the show with every character in the show, regardless if they can fuse or not.

I don't even see Amethyst. Again, this isn't about closeness, it's about 1. the stigma of fusion and 2. the WANT of fusion. Peridot, even when offered, doesn't seem to get excited about fusion the way, say Amethyst does or even Steven. She's just gotten to the point of accepting the fact that the Crystal Gems and those she calls friends are able to fuse. That doesn't mean SHE wants to fuse and really, we've seen the result of someone being in a fusion they didn't want to truly be in/only did for the sake of the other person. CONSENT is a HUGE thing for fusion, complete and utter yeses on BOTH sides - half assed consent does NOT count.

Fusion has metaphoric connotations to various relationships, like Garnet's romantic, Stevonnie's best friends, Smoky Quartzes sibling-like, etc., so it is not so much shipping as much as an expression of how the characters relate.

As much as I'd love to see a Peridot fusion with any other gem, I really hope they will keep her out of fusions. Aces need representation and Peridot is great at that. Besides, I love the relationships she has formed without the fusions already.
If Peridot were to fuse I think we'll be Steven as a brother-sister type of way or two type of friend that are not in a relationship same with pearl and garnet and amethyst but I feel like Pearl with lapis will be more of a type more than friend type of relationship like garnet

maybe she will fuse eventually and represent other parts of the asexual spectrum that may not initially have a desire to have sex but feel comfortable doing it with those they know really well or for their partner (like demisexual or graysexual) and this could be represented by peridot fusing because she's needed to in combat or smth and/or she fuses with steven or lapis or whoever only because theyre close and she feels comfortable with them not just because it may be slightly beneficial or because the option is there but because she wants to get to know them better or whatever else and even if fusion is needed in combat she may choose to only fuse with steven or only fuse with lapis or amethyst or garnet or whoever she's most comfortable with

I figured that Amethyst was also asexual considering the colours associated with her are on the asexual flag, honestly if Peridot never fused I'd probably love her more. As someone who's demisexual (a shade of asexuality) and relates strongly to Peridot, I think if she never fused romantically or at all I might just lose my mind from absurd happiness~

Honestly, I can’t see anything that isn’t platonic coming out of Peri, considering her personality and how she reacted to some approaches from others throughout the series.
And I think this would be an amazing way of asexual or maybe aromantic representation in media (which is rare, btw)!
I’m kinda tired of people neglecting strong friendships to only care for romantic relationships.

I was quite happy when I saw Rhodonite, because I'd always wondered about ruby and sapphire fusing with the other crystal gems without each other. We can certainly see that they both care for the other crystal gems, so I don't think it's impossible, but it's quite rare that we even see ruby and sapphire unfused, much less separated.

I am asexual, but I want Peridot to fuse a few times. Fusion to sex is not a one to one comparison. It's different. I would be quite interested in fusing and exploring that while being generally discusted about sex.

Sylvia Jones That doesn’t make sense. Asexual would imply that all gems inherently don’t want to have a sexual relationship. The issue is that is that Rose was pregnant with Steven. The process of pregnancy involves sex so Rose can’t be an asexual so that means gems can’t be inherently asexual. Plus I don’t think all gems should be limited to being one thing since gems are meant to be individuals with different preferences and personalities.
Ryan Carson asexual means without natural desire of having sex, it doesn't mean in anyway that asexuals are incapable of sex, or even that under no circumstances would an asexual ever have sex, there are different types, some asexuals are okay with having sex so I don't see why that would prevent rose from doing it once for such a huge and personal purpose as to create another being. Plus I see gems as being asexual in a basic design way rather than how humans would normally define sexual orientation, inherent because they're gems with no reproductional purpose or capability as they're non-organic lifeforms. But from a story standpoint I agree that they should and have differences, but in my personal opinion only within the general asexual bubble, for example I do think that amethyst presents herself more sexually personality-wise such as with her dancing and attitude, in the asexual community generally there can be 3 subdivisions if you're generalising and simplifying as humans do, which would be sex repulsed, indifferent and positive asexuals, which means some even like sex but not from sexual desire but for other reasons which I get is quite a difficult to understand but I think a good analogy would be the fact that amethyst enjoys eating, her desire to eat isn't based on hunger or a need but for weird reasons like she likes the way it grossly passes through her body, which I think is a good enough representation, at least it's the only one I could think of that makes any sense. So in that way I think amethyst is more sexually prone than some other gems like pearl who also coincidentally is repulsed by the idea of eating (unless it's not a coincidence hmmm).
Anyway that's what I believe anyway, but I'm explaining this as my own belief and I don't expect you to suddenly believe it all yourself I'd just like my own view to be understood, I understand you and every SU fan has a slightly different view on the matter, were all different with different views and beliefs, and isn't that what Rose and the show in general is trying to teach us about the beauty of humanity being in our differences?
