I did a lot of testing and the best way to get a sticky surface is to add a layer of paint, drizzle on sand, then brush off the excess and coat with another layer of paint.
I like Seth and his channel a lot. Watched from Berm Creek up til now and I think he's an awesome trail builder. But that "roll in" is actually worse than his linkage bending drops to flat of that thing. I just keep finding myself asking "Why !?" lol
For Future reference regarding the flags, you can do a like a wrist flick throw straight down to get the flags to stick, used to survey property as a Summer job during school, this way you don't have to bend down Everytime to insert it in the ground... A few throws and you'll get the hang of it
I'm late to this party but I'm glad I found this channel. I love your content! Takes me back to my youthful days when friends and I would ride the woods on our mountain bikes. Someone had spend hours and hours building all the amazing trails we used to enjoy. It's a labor of love! Thank you.
There’s this tool called a “pull man” basically u clamp around of base of up to a 4 inch thick tree and then u just push down on the lever, and it literally just pulls the whole tree roots included out of the ground in a few seconds, works really well for just medium to small stuff that you can’t pull by hand or would have to cut with the saw cause it just too big for the snips really recommed it even if u just try it a little

If you’re having guests over to use this trail you might also want to talk to a lawyer that can draft a solid waiver. You don’t want to be liable for accidents on your property and specially not accidents because of something you built

From what his platform starting area was. That was a good base to make something crazy. And than he just puts that drop straight into flat ground. I mean it’s good for a quick starter but he could make something way more unique and creative than that for sure

Another enjoyable edition, I have added "moonshangle panhandle" and "pucker plank" to the SBH lexicon. Shame you couldn't incorporate those big logs as some kind of North shore feature or even build up the dirt on the uphill side for nice drop off. Also that soil is so soft and spongy! You can dig out the soil around the root by hand? Wow. Crashing on that must be like crashing in pillows. Is this what this magical loam stuff is?

What do yall think? Seth, have you thought about renting equipment to knock the entire trail out super quick? A mini skid steer with dozer blade or a mini ex. Heck, you may find it worthwhile to hire someone with a heavy duty brush cutter to clear the lanes and do a little heavy lifting of the dirt work. You'd be surprised what they can get done in a day!

True but griptape will get wet and then it just rips away. Also with al the soil it wil get dirty and gone is your grip again
