    One point about the health code thing, I stayed in Xi'an to visit my family so I can speak for my experience. I gotta say it is one of the MOST BRILLIANT WAY to cut off any potential infection chain. Because you need to scan health code wherever you go, the system will be able to alert everyone who has been to the same places at a defined time period, their health code would turn yellow, then they know they need to get tested, best of all, these people's movement will be constrained before their test result comes out.
    In New York where I live, it is impossible for any organization even police to know where a patient has been, s/he could contact numerous people before tested positive and turn them into virus spreaders, there simply is no way to cut off that infection chain quickly enough.

    • @Mike34543
      @Mike34543 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Overall, this health code thing is the first experimental action in human history that people constrained by big data. Considering the current pandemic situation outside China and general results in Chinese society, I would like to give a good score to this semi-mandatory implementation.

      How were you able to enter your information into this app? It does not take foreign ID information. How did you do this?

    • @johnf2926
      @johnf2926 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vousmorte I don't think you can enter your info independently into this app, is has to be downloaded through wechat(weixin) or ZhiFuBao, and you need to be physically in China for at least 14 days and maintain a China local phone number. If you are in China right now, you can go to a local phone store i.e. HuaWei, staff there will be able to help you on that.

    • @vousmorte
      @vousmorte 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnf2926 Thanks for the reply John...we all have Chinese phone numbers and there is a version for foreign citizens...The Suikang code is for health, the Yeukang code is to track your movements and proximity to known infected. Tencent released the app in the mini programs of WeChat. It's also in Alipay but the versions we have access to are for Chinese citizen information and NO-ONE is able to link us to the 'English' version...Thanks for your response.

    So happy you and your beautiful family made it safe, made quarantine and are home. Blessing in your new home. Continued good health.
    I'm in northern California sheltering in place. I'm terrified of what has been predicted is getting ready to peak. This will take time. It is already intresting and sad how lives have changed. I'm afraid to get close to my 79yr old Mother for fear that I might infected her. Every time I have to go shopping for groceries, I reset my 14 day watch for symptoms.
    Prayers up asking for healing & strength for the world.

    A lot of people are making their own masks. I'm making them for all my family members. I do embroidery, so I have polypropylene stabilizer, and am using that between the fabric as an extra protection. They are turning out nice. You can find a nice pattern from Hobby Lobby, then I did change a few things to make them better and safer. I sew a lot so I found it inspiring to help my friends and family who can't get masks.
    Check some patterns out on the internet. Interfacing also works as a filter between the fabric. Make your own.....😷

    • @Gsxrtrix

      What do you use for polypropylene stabilizer?

    • @roe4414

      They are cut away stabilizer sheets I use with my machine embroidery and I read it could be used as a filler to block the virus better. I have it on hand, so I'm putting it between the cotton fabric.

I watched your live and Eva you were 'walloring' on your Dad like I used to do more than a 50 years ago with my Dad. ( He was absently moving his thumb on your leg, this is a sign that he loves you and he is there for you. For years I thought this was a midwest custom/ thing but over the years I have learned that this gesture of affection is common in many countries all over the world.) I rather like the chinese strict approach. 14 days forced quarantine is really nothing, if it secures your life and give you your entire lifetime to live instead of being hooked up on a respirator at the ICU and probably wont make it and die. In a state quarantine facility at least they are monitoring your health, and will take immediate action when it deteriorates, instead of you rushing to find a hospital yourself and hoping there will be medical care available.

    Now, the world can be a nasty crazy place out there, we need a lot of courage and we need a lot of resilience after that, and we will fall down before we stand up…
    What really matters is the silence of the night in our conscience, when we are alone.
    We cannot control what happens but we can use what happens.

So we are dealing with different dynamics . We have different health issues here . We have what the drs call pre morbidly health issues . I love that so many people are trying to help each other . So one suggest here, believe what you chosen, and chose to see only what support your perspective, and such kind report just make you feel bad better just not clink this kind of

    Do not look down on the programmers in China. It takes them three weeks to deliver a new product that normally costs US programmers three month. Lol, I believe the system is totally new, it’s not super fancy anyway

      Eric, where can I get more information? I wanted to order some masks from China, but I heard the customs have confiscated masks. I don't know if the problem is at the U. S. or Chinese customs, or both. The masks must be prepaid, and are non-refundable if confiscated.
      Please tell me the latest information. Thanks a lot.

      @@perfectstudents8361 So the thing here is very complicated. In China, the whole country is make PPE now with or without proper cetification. So some low quality masks has been produced and shipped overseas, caused a major criticize to Chinese government. So the Chinese government now is stricting the exporting of all PPE. Also USA has its own standard of PPE, all masks that does not meet those standards will be not allowed to go through customs. So here is some advices I can offer to you.
      1. Get masks from someone you trust or you have connection with in China, and ask them to send it to you as a letter mail. Do not use a box to mail your masks. Customs will pay more attention to a bigger package.
      2. If you do not know anybody in China, just and the company you mentioned, ask them send a small amout of masks to you, and see how it is going. Shouldn't be very expensive. And you can test the quality of masks when you receive them.

      @@perfectstudents8361 China tightens the clearance of exporting PPE to overseas to make sure all PPE meets national standard and the standard of the destination region. So for individuals, you cannot send PPE including masks to overseas via EMS, since individuals cannot provide papers to prove the qualifications. However, DHL Express service seems having no problem to send masks from China to overseas. I used DHL Express to send masks to Canada and Japan with no issue two weeks ago.

By the way Singapore govt is now distributing reusable facemask to its citizens. Maybe you would like to source it from China on this new masks and send it back to your families and friends back in US.

    Enjoying your vlogs. Glad to learn that you and your family are all green coded and survived the quarantine in China. Though I am not absolutely certain, there is a possibility that the masks you sent to your sister for personal use could be held up in US Customs (allegedly) and appropriated by the authorities. As you know, there is a national shortage of personal protection equipment (including masks) in the US, and many have to make their own masks from cloth, because the surgical masks are only intended for use by front-line health professionals due to their risk of exposure. Best wishes.

    I think family members can be quarantined in one room if they would like to. Since they were came here all the way together, if someone among them has the virus, it's very likely the rest of them have got it too, which makes it unnecessary to separate them each in one room.

      你错了,如果有人自我康复,有可能被再感染,再感染潜伏期就得再加14天,如果提前出来就说危险,而且不见得一家人在一起就一定全部被感染,在隔离期间被感染也是危险

      There are unscrupulous people making issue of certification on the mask. This will kill off the competition and there inadvertently create a higher demand for mask that they have hoarded before the lockdowns. Evil people do exist and plentiful.
