New BMW S 1000 R in action: cornering, doing wheelies, accelerating, revving and being nasty to pedestrians. Amazing motorcycle - surprisingly comfortable and extremely fast. Lots of fancy stuff like riding modes, lap timers, electronically adjustable suspension, traction control, ABS and an onboard computer. 0-100 km/h (60 mph) would be possible to do way under 3 seconds. I did it in 3:12 just like that and trying just once here on video. Excellent machine. Receives much, much attention on the streets. Not only because of 160 HP that you can hear through Akrapovic exhaust but because of muscular and extraordinary design BMW gave the S1000R.

I'm getting my first bike in a few days a Yamaha R3 but an S1000R is most definitely my dream bike, I hope to one day have the skill and courage to drive one. This bike is what got me to like them so much and that color scheme is my absolute favorite hope I find one in as good condition as this one is. SICK VIDEO.
That's a really good motorcycle to ride. I'd say that below 160 kph it's very user-friendly. Then it gets a bit wobbly sometimes. But why would anyone ride a naked with speeds above that, huh? :)

V-Told A myślałes przed zakupem o Duke'u? Ja rozważam obie opcje.
Nie jeździłem tym KTM-em, ale odstrasza mnie serwis w Polsce. Ta R-ka z filmu nie jest moja, więc nie było tak trudno podjąć decyzję :). Bazując na doświadczeniu z dwucylindrowymi V-kami wydaje mi się, że trudniej byłoby sobie taką maszyną radzić w mieście ze względu na bardziej narowiste reakcje silnika. Póki co to jednak tylko domysły, natomiast o BMW wiem, że jeśli chodzi o jazdę, prowadzenie itd. to żadnej wtopy na pewno nie będzie.

gentleman279 That Adventure is sick! Great-looking bike, I just don't really like the way boxer runs but there's nothing perfect in this world :). But I see that you like these big powerful bikes - ZS12R, R1200GS and so on. I understand that really well :)

My dream bike
what was your last bike and how does the bmw compare to it?
This was a test bike for a couple of days. My everyday motorcycle is a Suzuki V-Strom 1000. I've ridden many bikes in the last couple of years - mostly enduro tourers but have to admit that the S 1000 R's engine was one of the nicest. Very similar behaviour to K 1300 R but the bike is lighter, more agile and easier to manoeuvre in the city traffic. The only disadvantage of a naked bike (generally speaking) is a lack of wind protection. I didn't notice any annoying elements in the S 1000 R. Seems very, very refined.
V-Told I also tried the bike. I find it has lot of useless power. I ride the ZX6R '05.
Nice, I got mine last week. It has same color as yours. I am only worried about putting mileage on it. I am going to use it for a daily commute. I put 32k miles on my last bike in 2 yrs. any suggestion or advise? Thank you.
Houman Gharahgozlou As far as I'm concerned there aren't any issues with putting large mileage on R and RR (better ask those who ride RRs - with the same engine - as the bike was introduced earlier and there is more riders who have put a lot of miles on them). Personally I wouldn't be concerned about this matter. If you have a valid warranty then don't worry.
Hello, after riding s1000r and s1000xr, which one is your favorite motorcycle?

They are very similar. The XR is more comfortable of course and you can use is for many more purposes but the R on the other hand has more character. It's hard to say which one I'd choose but as a fan of comfort, I'd probably go with the XR, even though I consider the R as a bit easier to ride - especially in the city.

Obecnie furorę robiłby pewnie biały, tyle że jak moda na "śnieżne wehikuły" się skończy, to byłby kłopot. Motocykl moim zdaniem doskonały! Sam wiesz jeśli miałeś okazję pojeździć :)

This is a normal paintjob straight from the factory. It's a dealer's bike.

Is it notably better for riding in the city than F800R (which is my bike, 2015 model with all the options)?
I haven't ridden the F800R long but it's so compact that I think it could be easier to handle than the 1000.

Yes, such a rider I am. At that time the bike had around 200 km on the clock... So yes, I'm afraid you need to try with something else next time, buddy.

Without any music, cause I almost couldn't hear the exhaust sound. But...it was a nice video, it could be better, but still a good ride.
Przod przypomina mi tego kolesia z filmu the goonies ktory ogladalem za dzieciaka . Szkoda ze bmw nie jest w stanie stworzyc ladnego moto . Nie ma to jak ducati i silnik v-twin
lukaszg74 Takie mają swoje upodobania. Teraz bardziej niż piękno liczy się chyba oryginalność. Nowy GS 1200 moim zdaniem wygląda doskonale, nowy R1200RS też ma piękną linię, a stary K1300GT i K1300S wyglądają moim zdaniem naprawdę wyjątkowo ładnie, a przy tym klasycznie. S1000R to trochę jak mniejszy K1300R :)
V-Told Mimo wszystko uwazam ze najbardziej sexi moto pochodza z Wloch . Wystarczy spojrzec na nowe ducati panigale czy tez mv augusta f3 800 ago nie wspominajac juz o nowym dragsterze rr . Mialem okazje widziec wszystkie na targach w Birmingham . Faktem jest ze bmw cenowo wypada najlepiej ale na zywo wyglada najgorzej . Dla niektorych licza sie tylko osiagi i maja gdzies to jak moto wyglada, sam posiadam ktm superduke 990 i mimo ze nie jest to najszybszy motocykl jaki mialem za kazdym razem kiedy na niego wsiadam mam usmiech na twarzy , moc to nie wszystko liczy sie tez to ile moto sprawia ci radosci . Pozdrawiam
Ooo Superduke wygląda świetnie! Z Dragsterem też masz rację - ostatnio kilka osób mi o nim wspominało i są zakręceni na jego punkcie, tylko podobno Agusta przegina z ceną. To akurat kwestia tego co jest ile dla kogo warte :). Ja jestem fanem V-twinów, ale ten S1000R naprawdę niesamowicie chodzi i urzekł mnie strzałami z wydechu, bo nigdy jeszcze czegoś takiego nie słyszałem - żeby moto robiło to non stop, bajka!

Moj duke ma zamontowane wydechy leo vince i i zadna rzedowka nie moze sie rownac jesli chodzi o wrazenia dzwiekowe , byl to jeden z powodow dla ktorych sprzedalem moje gsxr .Kilka razy nawet udalo mi sie wlaczyc alarm w samochodzie stojacym na ulicy . Sasiedzi zapewne maja inne zdanie na ten temat szczegolnie kiedy wracam w nocy do domu . Co do ceny nowych bikow to jest to jakas masakra pamietam jak nowe tysiace kosztwaly jakies 8 tys funtow w uk kilka lat temu a teraz prawie drugie tyle , chociaz tutaj bardzo duzo ludzi placi za moto miesiecznie .
lukaszg74 Teraz dopiero sprawdziłem The Goonies i trochę to paskudne ;). Maszyny mają już tyle elektroniki, że czasem ciężko się dziwić, że aż tyle kosztują. Rozwój ma swoją cenę, gorzej jak ktoś, kto tego nie chce, nie ma żadnego wyboru. Dla mnie dźwięk dużych KTM-ów jest bardzo w porządku, na dobrych wydechach bardziej mi leży niż klekot Ducatów. Zdaje się tylko, że nie robią do nich wydechów Two Brothers, które są moimi ulubionymi. Pozostaje rzeźba, a i to da się zrobić ;)
