  • The S 1000 RR is a fabulous sportsbike, but does losing the fairing mean the R-version is going to make a great naked? Paul checks out the S 1000 R on the road and track to find out.

    There's no shift assist on the way down the box on these yet. Only the 2015 RR has that at the moment.
    I actually like the look of it, and jeez does it ride well.

      +1964Hall 100% correct, definitely no quick shift on the way down. Would be nice though. Here's mine with a few mods and changes:

    Great review! Thanks - not sure what’s wrong with the 15 that gave this thumbs down? Good thorough review thank you.

    Thank you, for being so easy to listen to. There are a lot of very obnoxious 'pro' reviewers out there and I can't stand hearing them blab....
    Also, nice bike!

    Finally, maybe a bike that's a worthy successor to my trusty Street Triple R!

      +Street Trip I'm really undecided with my first bike: ST3R or de s1000r .... Without entering into the power of the bike, or the engines size... both bikes are about the same multipurpose. the ST3R is like 50% street/50% highway while the s1000r is more like 40% street 60% highway (the s1000rr goes for more 90% highway, 10% street). Whats your opinion

      +David Varela To be honest David, the S1000R is a lot of bike for a first bike and while it has lots of electronics, it would still be very easy to get into trouble with 160hp. I'd probably go for the ST3R, every bit as much fun (probably more so in the twisty roads) and a bit easier to throw around and a bit more forgiving. Ride safe.

    Hey Team!!
    Are you planning on doing an S1000XR review soon? Im wanting the S1000R ergonomics but with some more wind protection - Windy Welly is horrible without any protection 80% of the year lol!!
    Keen as a bean!!

      Robert L how it is on the bends????? i'm about the get one of these as a second bike to keep me away getting old :)))I have 2015 model gs adventure, it's a bends king !!!!
      s1000R is good on the bends as good as gs?

    • @robertl5202
      @robertl5202 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im very happy with tje S1000r. Performance of the RR but more comfort. I think it goes fantastic on the bends. Just press the button to firm up the suspension and keep going. I have never ridden the GS so i cant compare. But i dont think you can go wrong with the S1000r. Still scares me @ full throttle

      Robert L thank you for the feed back, tomorrow around noon I will ride the test bike and I will take it to the snaky roads....

      +Robert L I'm not decided between a 1000cc bike (BMW s1000r) or a 600cc-800cc bike (Triumph Street triple 675R or something close)

    • @gentleman279
      @gentleman279 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +David Varela go for a S single R, ladies riding Street Triple.....I rode a test bike, so much fun !!! only one downside !!!! Ugly !!! :)

    Great review & it sure looks like a forgiving machine. I'm only a short rider (163 cm's and weighing at 68-69kg). Would this be outside of my comfort reach zone? I'm nowhere near going to get a test ride so I figured I'd ask the bike community here.

    umm i have a 2015 s1000r, it DOESNT have a quickshift down, only up. Up and down quickshifts was only introduced on the 2017+ models.

    can I ask you how the hell you can ride at that speed a naked bike with no wind protection whatsoever?
    I would be knacked after 5 min!!

    I don't think the extra torque was ever needed. No one ever hops on a 1000 and says "fuck, think i could use some more overtaking power" even in 6th they will easily overtake any traffic.

    If you are going to make a fake review, copying what you read in some payper. Atleast make shure you are reading about the right bike! What a joke!

      Well how different are we. I bought one last year and one main reason is because i'm in love with the way it looks! I dig the whole asymmetrical thing.
