Near little car but I expected more acceleration out of 340hp and such low weight.
I mean, my N55 BMW is around 340hp and has over 500nm, this is 340hp and 390nm. It's obviously going to suffer in the torque department because of the small displacement. Then you have to factor in the all-wheel-drive system.
This is a great car for windy roads and mountain passes - it's obviously not designed as an Autobahn cruiser.
I've seen plenty footage of that Toyota at Nurburgring Nordschliefe....leaving much more expensive cars behind because of how stable it drives through corners, it's a momentum car where you try to brake as little as you can while cornering while also trying squeeze as much out of it between the corners.
Audi could learn that it's possible to make an AWD car that doesn't understeer at every touch of the throttle.
Whenever I see a pocket rocket doing this type of speed I remember my brother and I overtaking a BMW 735i at close to 200kph in his Fiat Uno Turbo. The BMW driver was 'cruising' gently, while we felt like we were about to take off, probably the same as the Yaris and Panamera.
Probable one of the best sport cars in last 10+ years.

Yes. 247 km/h GPS shows over 250 on a Golf GTi G60 speedometer. Nice how a hot hatch made in 1991 is still faster than this modern Toyota. 😉

The Toyota GR Yaris is so useable (narrow and short) compared to the Porsche on ordinary roads.
The Yaris is a driver's car.

It makes no sense to compare those two cars, completely different purposes
Not to mention that a Panamera gonna depreciate and lose a lot of its value while the GR Yaris is already a collectors car and worth way more then its original price.
@@balintk.9373 wrong. It worth more now second hand than when it originally came out because of inflation. Second hand ones with low mileage go for around 38-40k while new is goes for 43k

I’m really not impressed. The measurement are identical as my 335i e93 with 354hp and almost 2 tons of weight. For a small little car it’s not impressive, the engine seems weak

Kinda slow for 340HP and 450NM, but then again it weighs 1300+ kg, I always wrongly think its around 1000kg in my head but then I remember it's not that light

I may have timed incorrectly, but this (supposedly) GR Yaris with 340hp took around 13,23s from 100-200, while in the linked 100-200 list there is a GR Yaris tuned to 291HP doing 13,01s from 100-200.

The Yaris GR might not be a beauty, super fast, super light or anything else. BUT it is a s
super fun sports car with ralley genes out of the box manufactured by Toyota with utmost precision. This car will survive whatever you throw at it and you will have the time of your life doing so.

The porche is way faster flat out but the yaris driver likely has a smile on his face the entire drive, every drive. Never seen a porche driver smile, especially if the driver is also German 😅

Yeah no way it's 340hp. Maybe it's another case where they use a trash tune chip instead of a proper custom ECU tune. Also these Yaris are know to be really hard to measure their real power, with very varying result between consecutive runs at the Dyno

With 340 hp and 1300kg this toyota should easily do 250+ km/h. At the beginning of the video it was written that the top speed is 230 km/h.
Factory limited.
If you disable the factory limit of 230km/h, then the GR Yaris does around 260km/h completly stock (261hp).
Weight has a very small impact on top speed. Gearing and aero are the relevant factors

guess with a proper automatic gearbox this baby could achieve 0 - 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds. pity there's the speed limit though.

Dieser Porsche Pannemann (nein, nicht verschrieben) kam doch schon mit höherem Tempo von hinten an, sonst wäre der nicht SO schnell da vorbeigeglitten... Würdet ihr zwei nicht immer solche absolut bescheuerten Kamerapositionen in Bezug auf den Rückspiegel wählen, hätte man das auch erkennen können.

for 340HP and about 1400kg, I think it's preety slow tbh, you can put the same ammount of power on a Golf GTI for example and it will move much more faster

Rumour is gearbox will be a CVT or slushtronic so don’t get too excited. Toyota don’t have a DSG.

Panamera is good for highways, but when corners come Yaris will easily smash it
So my gti weights 170kg more and have 20hp less. I drive a 12.6s 100-200. The Yaris is with less weight under more hp just 1s faster.. I don’t get it.
Is the exhaust original from the factory or has it been changed?
From the sound of it, I guess it is an exhaust from Aulitzky. It is definitely not the stock exhaust anymore.

@@dorsetchap4487 I had a S1 for 5 years and sold it for a GR Yaris 3 years ago. I can definitely tell you, that the Yaris is the faster car just everywhere (both stock!). However, most importantly (for me) the GR Four AWD System is just miles ahead to the one used in the S1, if you like controlled drifting in the snow there is just no better car available.
Hard to believe the 340hp claim though.
