    Thanks for the great video! I'm in the process of doing the roof rack delete right now. One thing I did do that made things a bit easier is I used 3M super strength molding tape under the back end of the plastic molding that goes above the windshield instead of using a big glob of silicone adhesive. This made it so I didn't have to put sockets on it, tape it down, and let it dry. I still used a little silicone adhesive where it clips into that white plastic track thing to make it it was nice and secure. One other change I made is I bought 304 stainless steel M6-1.0 x 12mm flat top hex screws from Amazon instead of using set screws. They still sit pretty flush so the weather strip isn't bulged up where it sits over top of them. Thanks again for the idea! The flat top look is so clean and it will also make it much easier to wash and wax the roof without that silly roof rack that always popped loose.

    So I’ve seen this done but the tech had to take down parts of the interior roof at the posts front and back and then reinstalled a part made for the Explorer to fit exactly where the railing was removed…it was time consuming and I feel like doing it right in this case might be a better option .. if my vehicle was older this would be a better option.

    • @stevehelfer8339
      @stevehelfer8339 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seems your tech did not know how to do this and did not watch the process here as there is no need to remove the inner panels

      Yes, I used nylon string to loosen it up, and used plastic pry tool kit from harbor freight, popped ryt off, thanks for your videos, good stuff!😎
      Then I installed a custom 7” Ford emblem that came with double stick tape, but I added a bit of clear silicone caulk
