    I love the scrap busting ideas! And all of these are fab, I’m also looking up that Mexican restaurant as it’s my favourite food too and I’m in west London so my husband and I can definitely make an evening of it!

      Oh, you should definitely take a trip to Mestizo. Both locations are great. I particularly recommend their Molcahete Mestizo, but the taco trays are a very fun. I hope you love it!

      Ooh, you are so right. Still, I'm way too excited to get it up on the wall. I still have some scraps of the fabrics leftover, though. I'm going to have to make something to match my wall. Heehee

    You're always amazingly creative. I feel sad for the night and day top because it doesn't fit right despite your herculean efforts. I do like the idea of that one. The one with the pink binding is really a good one. My favorite is the Uvita with the stripes. It fits great, not too tight or clingy or too big and sacky. Just like Goldilocks, that one is awesome!

    • @LostMyThread
      @LostMyThread  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm hopeful that I can sneak a side panel into the night and day top. Watch this space. And I was really impressed with the Uvita Top shape/fit when I made it for Sew Frugal. I will be making more of these, for sure!!

    I really like your wall hanging and your use of scraps in your tops - you've really put the work in on using up your scraps! I smiled when you talked about Merchant and Mills and your trip to Rye. I have some friends who live there and I went to visit them earlier this year and was surprised when I saw Merchant and Mills, not having realised they were based in Rye - I'd only seen them online. A great discovery 😂

      Isn't it a great little shop? How fun that you found it accidentally. It's so different to see fabrics in real life. I hope you got something as a memento. Fortunately, if you have friends who live there, you've got a great excuse to visit!

    Fantastic projects! The Uvita striped top is amazing. You did a fabulous job of matching up the stripes and joining the fabric pieces so it's not noticeable. I have not tackled my scraps yet. I spent my time sewing pieces for my vacation. Home now, and analyzing how my holiday wardrobe worked or not. That info along with my MMM will guide my future projects. Happy birthday, looks like a fabulous time.

      Thank you so much, Nancy! I have to say, these projects weren't really made with my 'style goals' in mind, but I'm still happy to have them in my wardrobe. It's great to hear how thoughtful you are with your approach. I hope you are feeling refreshed after your vacation. Have fun getting back to your sewing machine!

    Your birthday sounded like fun! Will look forward to seeing your visit to Merchant and Mills as I've been coverting their fabric for a while now. Love the green and floral le brea tee, looks like you're making a good dent in your scraps. And your art deco inspired wall hanging looks fab. I love all the colours you used and the blue adds a wee pop. I've nearly finished making a Garnet top in a very sunny yellow which is giving me all the summer feels. You just have to get really good at cooking Mexican food. Haha. I will say that it's a lot easier to find ingredients in the UK than it was when I moved here. The corn tortillas are what always catch me out, though. (and the fresh jalapenos, tomatillos, okay - maybe a few things!) Fortunately, Mestizo has a grocery store next to the restaurant, so I can stock up. Next time you're in London!

    I am working on a scrappy top as I watch your video. My favorite is the first top, the colors are very flattering on you. The tank top fabrics seems too structured, so my suggestion is to take in the sides or put in waist darts because the fabrics are pretty together. If it looks too short taken in, I think a peplum would balance it out.
