The skirt accommodation over the leggings is life-changing. I think you just changed my life there. haha! Now let's see if I actually throw the skirt on ever! Love your tips, your wardrobe is very motivating
This might be the best capsule wardrobe video on the internet!! 🙌 Simple, real, practical. Thank you, I needed this reminder - we all just need whatever is easiest to go from bed to dressed, (especially just now). Amen.
I love all of your videos. And your sister’s channel as well. Thanks for being so real for many moms out here. I’m a mom to almost 5. It’s hard trying to balance looking put together but also dressing for the comforts of motherhood and working at home. ❤️
I created basically this same winter uniform for myself as well! The only difference is that I wear either a house dress or a flannel midi skirt over my leggings and wear a sweater on top. I could never figure out how to make leggings not look/feel awkward until I discovered this uniform. I was so tired of only wearing joggers or yoga pants as a comfy stay-at-home option. Getting dressed in the morning is fun again! I love your combos--they look great!:)
The uniform concept is so great. Especially for winter! I hate that society makes us feel like we’ve got to wear something different every single day of the week. Like we’re not doing it right unless we’ve always got on something that’s completely different. Being in a new, temporary housing situation right now I’m definitely rocking this approach. Just like 4 different variations of my uniform. Oh and chore clothes for working outside. ☺️ I especially love your skirt though! So cute on you!
Sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
I’m LOVING the act of using a short skirt to give enough coverage over leggings. Love the comfort of great leggings and boots either shirt or tall shaft. Go from sleep to out the door in seconds!
Not sure why anyone gives a thumbs down here. Dumb. I love this video! I love the earthtone colors in her apparel! Its smart. Lisa has so much figured out. I love how they paid cash for their 1860's home. Inspiring! I love the uniform with leggings, skirt, sweater and apron. 🔥 🤗👏
I cant say how much I love your uniform idea! I've been struggling to figure out my "mom uniform". Some days I do a little work at home, but mostly homeschool and have co op etc during the week. I'm constantly having to change and it irks me how many clothes I have to change during the day. I, like you, dont feel comfortable just running around in leggings. Your skirt and sweater idea is so classic and darling. Thanks for the grab tips!:)
I love watching you videos. I’m 60 yrs old so my children are all on their own and two have their own children. I tell them to watch. To be inspired taking some of your efficient ideas to use. I always used a Pressure Cooker. I found it Faster… easier to clean and an instapot seems to be. I used it every day… even with veggies and always for collard, turnip greens. ( you just need to boil fo about 5 minutes before putting the lid on). I also use for beans… For a chicken it takes about 10 to 15 minutes… pork roast and beef roast…. about 15 minutes and it just falls off the bone while holding in all of the nutrients.
So much YES! I do this too😆 You’re just too cute!💖 It’s sooo freeing to have less clothes, for just the reasons you mentioned. After getting married and moving, I didn’t realize how much my life would change and effect my wardrobe. I packed our little closet with everything I’d normally wear and maybe touched two things from it all that entire summer. Finally got rid of most of it and it felt amazing. Thanks for sharing!!💓
I want to simplify my wardrobe so I'm only wearing clothes that fit best to and are comfortable. I put my seasonal clothes in a big Ziplock vacuum bag on the shelf in my closet.
I love your approach to clothes and you look so nice in all your choices. So refreshing to see cute but practical wardrobe. I prefer this 100 percent over these massive walk in closets with 5 million shirts etc. hanging. When it comes down to it, and you are a busy person, you grab the same things over and over that fit and make you feel comfortable/good. Fun video as always thanks!
I love your armoire, sweaters and corduroy skirts! And I love the comfort of just putting your clothes on over leggings... especially when it’s chilly :)
I love how happy you look trying on your uniform outfits. It was way super cute to watch! That's what I'm going for with my wardrobe. I want the same feeling when I get dressed every morning.
Thanku for the affermation.Ive been doing this since school began early early cold mornings and out to the car to wait for the bus .same for the kiddo in kindergarten. Its an easier transition in the mornings. then we change clean at night.GREAT!
Yessss I'm this exact same way and as a byproduct, my toddler's wardrobe is also! He has about 4 pairs of bottoms and 6 shirts at any given size and season and it's just super easy that way!
My go to outfit for all seasons except winter is skorts and nice tops, light cardigan if needed. I never thought about skirts and leggings but you’ve inspired me to try them! ❤️
I am def a uniform girl. Whenever I find a look I like I want to buy the same thing in multiple colors for mix and match. This skirt/sweater combo is 100% my style. Love!!!
I love your humility and admitting that you don't know how to style jeans and boots. I live in Canada and I am not a fan of rolling up my jeans to show a bit of ankle. It is too cold! Very thick leggings and long tunic shirts have been a staple for me. But, you have inspired me to look into some cute sweater and skirt outfists.
If we are gonna be honest here. My uniform since March has been cotton capris and a pajama/t-shirt. I only leave the house to pick up groceries through drive through or meds through drive through. My husband works from home now (since April) and turned what was going to be our grandsons nursery into an office. We just cleaned out our closets and dressers. Donating 13 trash bags and 6 large boxes of clothes and shoes. It was stuff I’m really never wanting to wear again or with my quarantine 15 can’t wear. No since in it just hanging in there for another year. I did however buy new pajama capris and will swap out the old with new when they come in. The stuff we let go last week from the kitchen and pantry areas was insane also. My house has a long way to go, but it is feeling so much lighter already. Since this month the group of ladies are not doing other areas of the house we needed to do, we are just added them in weekly now. I had a nursery and clothes and all sorts of infant/baby stuff that never got used 😢 he was born March 23rd and it’s been horrible not being able to spend time with him. We donated everything so someone will get the use out of all of it.
I absolutely loved your winter uniform. I had never thought of skirts over leggings. Love the look. Makes me want to go right out and get a couple short skirts. Thanks for sharing your wardrobe.
As a nurse I of course have a uniform (scrubs, which is the closest to pjs I can get!) and at home this made me realize I have a uniform too. Jeans, and a knitted sweater, or tee. This was definitely a sign to go through my wardrobe cupboard this weekend and purge. I’ve kept so much stuff that I never wear, just because it’s pretty. No more! 👍🏼 and yes, old navy is honestly the best!!
You always look lovely and presentable. My uniform: jeans(I have 2 pairs), button down shirts, sweater over top for winter, tank under and worn open for spring. Summer ... dresses and skirts-tanks. I love button down, no iron, landsend or llbean button shirts (not oversized). They make my jeans and slip in sneakers, ballet flats or muck boots presentable. They wear like steel and get softer in time. Wear them under sweaters like yours in the winter. In the spring and early summer I wear them open (like a cardigan) with a nice clean white tank underneath. I have them in pretty patterns. Simple silver earrings, lipstick, apron. I'm good to go. I have an old house too. Closets, but they are small. I was minimal before minimal was cool. :)
I am a Skirt and Leggings Girl Too ~Sometimes Dress and Leggings I Love The Cosy Comfort of Warm Cardigans and (Sweaters or Jumpers as We mostly call them in The UK ) x
Love Old Navy Second hand. My uniform this season has been I found swing dresses from Mercari Old Navy style, leggings, and sweaters..and a apron of course..my daughter always gets on me about the same outfit..i told her one day you will get it❤
Lisa. I’ve been going through my clothes the last few months. So far, 13 bags to Goodwill. I realized I ha e way too many clothes. I keep things forever! The bottom line is I know what looks good on me and what I feel good in. Therefore, you are correct. Although, I won’t go as minimal as you (I was when I was younger), I ha e gotten rid of enough where I gained an 8 foot shelf in my closet. I’m an organizing nut. I love organizing therefore, I can collect a lot because it’s organized!!! Anyway, I love your Chanel and you are an inspiration! I do plan to get rid of more thanks to this video! Sincerely, Lisa from Dallas.
I like the uniform concept. Makes a busy life so much more simple. I also like wearing all neutral colors that go with each other. That way, no matter what I out in, it matches. Lol I like your sweaters. Where do you find them?
I have loved having a uniform, it makes life so easy. I have my first thredup box coming this week since my uniform has settled into tshirts all the time, so I am working to jazz that up.
Also I wanted to add that I absolutely loved your previous style, the jeans and tees. The capsule wardrobe that you did at the old house from thredUP looked so calm and put together. Not that this style isn’t lol I just really resonated with the old style a bit more. I love the sweaters and cord is coming back in a really big way right now and is definitely trending. The uniform concept is awesome as well. When I learned about it from those from Sweden I just had to jump on it and it’s so much easier. Much love to you and yours.
My first reaction was, “oh, you need to discover Kon Marie method!” It changed everything for me. I was already a person with well folded and organised drawers, but had leftovers at the end of my bed. Now everything fits perfectly and I can see everything I own.
My sister just gave me a bunch of pretty blouses and cardigans. So I'll I needed was bottoms. I got 3 pairs of maternity jeans to switch out during the week with a blouse and cardigan. Then for church 3 knee length maternity skirts, tan, gray and a jean one. I can rotate my pretty blouses and cardigans with them too. I also went on poshmark and got 2 mid calf boots to go with my skirts, a gray pair and brown pair. I already had a pair of black ankle boots and black knee high boots!
I had just searched your blog for this exact thing before you posted a video!!! Thank you, thank you! I’m older than you by lots of years, but I might still be able to pull this off. So simple, yet looks great!
When I used to work I only wore black pants, black flats or bootie, solid blouse and cardigan. Booties and cardigan depended on the season. Wore this year around. Now I wear leggings, sweatshirt and oversized top. I don't have the patience to own a lot of things.
Thank you for the leggings link! I just said last week I was going to get some leggings to wear with summer dresses and skirts. You saved me time on searching! 🙌🏼
Your lovely side braid is now part of my "going out wardrobe" my whole family knows it as the "Lisa braid" and that we must be going out to eat 😁 thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas 💗
We literally have the same style! I wear leggings under my skirts every day. Jeans are a little too tight for me due to my endometriosis so leggings and skirts have become my wardrobe staple. Love seeing this! And I especially love your aprons! I’m going to sew some aprons like those for myself! Cute, but completely functional. Also, I have begun my minimalist journey, and got down to roughly 14 days worth of clothes in my closet which is a major step in the right direction! Thanks for posting this video!
Hi Lisa, I’m so happy I found you! I’ve enjoyed starting with your oldest videos and watching up to your most recent. I too am a Missourian. I live in Southeast Missouri. I have a daughter at Mizzou, and a sister n law in Troy. I like that you keep your videos short and sweet and to the point. You are very good at what you do. Happy New Year.
I’ve been dressing like this for Years. I’m 65 yrs young. My peers “ called our style” mom layering. It works with a cold climate, jobs, kids, car pools, Church etc etc. never new I was a “ trend setter”. LOL
I love clutter-free Januarys! And thrifting for my "new" wardrobe! I had such a thrifting "haul" last weekend for my house and wardrobe - all while cleaning out and donating!
Yes, I always purge my wardrobe before the season approaching. I have been finding myself keeping or buying classic styles that will last longer and away from a lot of the fads. I’m not against them, I just don’t wear them that much, if at all.
Very cute! My winter uniform this year is highrise wide leg pants and sweatshirts (from Pact apparel, purchased during their black Friday sales.) Usually with wool socks and wool slippers in the house too :)
great video, your armoir is a great place for Marie Kondo's folding system so your clothes would be even more accessible and visible to you, I'd love to have that beautiful armoir!
Love this! I am so on board with how to make pj's work for day wear! I do something very similar. Though now that I have a lovely pair or flannel pants I do put on jeans every morning. But with slim ankles because... work books.
FYI, I just wanted to let you know that I am not getting TH-cam notifications that you posted a new video. Not sure there is anything you can do about it but thought you should know. Luckily, it was in the playlist and I found it. Thanks for the great video.
“ What’s the easiest way to go from pajamas to going outside” - Girl!!! You are after my own heart!!!!
On the weekends I pull my insulted coveralls on over my pjs for barn chores lol
@@jbloveday9538 Oh geez......insulated.... thanks
Yeeeess!! Totally my kind of girl! I’m all about throwing skirts over leggings too. 🙌🏼 Definitely going to check out the corduroy skirts!
Your the definition of “Girl next door” pretty, just naturally pretty.
The skirt accommodation over the leggings is life-changing. I think you just changed my life there. haha! Now let's see if I actually throw the skirt on ever! Love your tips, your wardrobe is very motivating
So so cute! I love the mini skirt with tights look ✨❄️
Love your Chanel!! And your outfits are to expensive girl I looked it up 😑😑😑😑 I really wanted your apron 😍
I really like the natural earth tones of your wardrobe...❤
This might be the best capsule wardrobe video on the internet!! 🙌 Simple, real, practical. Thank you, I needed this reminder - we all just need whatever is easiest to go from bed to dressed, (especially just now). Amen.
That's what I was thinking!
Skirts and leggings are my favorite for winter too and they stretch seasons well.
Your eye makeup looks pretty! I love your wardrobe piece! Cute winter “uniform”!
You are so cute. Even when you are just smiling at yourself. Just adorable. Good video! Again
I love all of your videos. And your sister’s channel as well. Thanks for being so real for many moms out here. I’m a mom to almost 5. It’s hard trying to balance looking put together but also dressing for the comforts of motherhood and working at home. ❤️
When I clicked on this I was expecting someone really weird because it mentioned a uniform... I was so wrong and you are brilliant! Such cute outfits!
This is by far my fave video in the clothing week so far! I love the uniform idea.
Ok just me or is she glowing???? Her calm smile is so comforting lol
Three bags of clothing were taken to a local center. Warm plaid shirts is my uniform of choice in winter.
I created basically this same winter uniform for myself as well! The only difference is that I wear either a house dress or a flannel midi skirt over my leggings and wear a sweater on top. “How can I transition my PJ’s to a real outfit?” - a question has never been more important. 2020-2021
I’m LOVING the act of using a short skirt to give enough coverage over leggings. Love the comfort of great leggings and boots either shirt or tall shaft. Go from sleep to out the door in seconds!
I can’t tell you what your spirit does for me... bless you

Genius! I too wear tank tops and leggings to bed! I’m gonna try the skirt idea
Love the idea of a uniform; and that you think of your wardrobe as function but also with an eye to a stylish look that serves you!
I want to simplify my wardrobe so I'm only wearing clothes that fit best to and are comfortable. I put my seasonal clothes in a big Ziplock vacuum bag on the shelf in my closet.

Thank you so much!

I love the skirt over the leggings idea! Your movies are always so calming!:)
Wow, great tips with leggings to a classy, skirt wear! love it!
My winter uniform is leggings and boots with either a long tunic sweater or a long-sleeved fitted tunic with a long loose cardigan over. Love it!
Lisa you are so calming 💕
Yes those leggings have been my favourite find of 2020 - the pockets make all the difference. Thanks for your video!
Your day clothes to night clothes idea is brilliant!! ❤
Your uniform is my favourite too. It's currently Summer in Australia. I will be going back to this soon 😊
If we are gonna be honest here. My uniform since March has been cotton capris and a pajama/t-shirt. I only leave the house to pick up groceries through drive through or meds through drive through. Love your "uniform," it's practical yet put together and pretty. Thanks for sharing!
I love your style! It looks both put together and comfortable. My favorite things about it are the colors and fabrics!
You always look lovely and presentable. My uniform: jeans(I have 2 pairs), button down shirts, sweater over top for winter, tank under and worn open for spring. Summer ... dresses and skirts-tanks. After learning the KonMari way to fold, I just struggle watching anyone else fold clothes into draws now 😂 I still love this channel 🤗
😉💖
Agree
My first reaction was, “oh, you need to discover Kon Marie method!” It changed everything for me. I was already a person with well folded and organised drawers, but had leftovers at the end of my bed. Now everything fits perfectly and I can see everything I own.
I really like your dressing ideas. Your videos are very refreshing
I love your corduroy skirts!

Yes!!! More of these please.
You are a great inspiration for us. I’m so amazed how you can handle big family, farm and working on your channel. See you soon...
I love the idea of just putting a shirt and skirt overtop of your jammies👍🏻. I should try that. Looks so comfy!

Leggings and skirts are so cute; I am too hippy to pull it off but I s always loved that look, especially with boots!
cute!! I also can see you wearing simple but long and fuller cotton skirts. It would match your home and lifestyle. (:
Know where to find some of the full cotton skirts? I would like some!
I love your armoire!! 😍

And not have to actually get on so much fancy close on each day lol
❤️❤️❤️ yes live the simplicity
You look so cute in all of your outfits. You have inspired me to clean my closet out once again... ♡
I love your clothes!! Simple and cute...I just started ThredUp and I love it!!!

FYI, I just wanted to let you know that I am not getting TH-cam notifications that you posted a new video. Not sure there is anything you can do about it but thought you should know. Luckily, it was in the playlist and I found it. Thanks for the great video.
