You should look into low carb diet if you suffer from anxiety. I've been doing keto/carnivore for last month, I've lost 5kg all water retention has gone and my anxiety has more or less gone completely.

I'm almost 59 and I really don't care what people think about me now, as you get older you lose all the insecurities of youth. It's very liberating. I bet once you get organised you will be onto a good thing, especially as spring is on the way.

This is so true, as you get older you start to not give a shit about what others may think of you and your lifestyle. You only get one life and so enjoy it the best way you can because you never know when that day comes when you can no longer do it.
So true, getting older does have some plus sides. I could never go back to living in the mental prison I was in in my 20s and 30s, caring so much what other people thought, always at the back of my mind was a desire to be accepted and liked.
But as you experience life you realise that SO many people are lost, misguided, clueless, chasing things like luxuries, status, more digits in their banking app, their priorities are so far from what is truly important to a human being, almost universally, happiness, love, authenticity, things that nourish your soul, cheesy to say but true - why try to impress folks who are that clueless & misguided? It's daft, I just feel sorry for my peers, in their 40s, 50s and they're still chasing things that ultimately never end up satisfying them, outwardly they've got a appealing looking life, nice cars, houses, eat out at fancy places, go on £4 grand holidays, wear designer gear (and often brag about it all incessantly).
My anxiety, that I thought would cripple me forever is no longer a huge overbearing monster that controls my every move, it's more like a little mouse in a dunce hat, still there, still tries to nag at me but it has lost all its power.
I’m 30 I don’t give a shit what people think, we need to love one another more, that’s more important 😊
It's good to see that your first night went well in the van. You'll soon get into a routine and you'll soon not care what people think.

Don't be paranoid. You are a lovely genuine man, who is a thousand times better than anyone in an Asda carpark who you think might be looking at you but who are really so absorbed by their own miserable and stressful lives they probably don't even notice you !!!

@@bythecurb I use a hdpe Nalgene wide mouth water bottle, dual purpose for hot water bottle at night and for washing in the morning.

I've just watched this. I totally understand your comments on anxiety. We've just bought a small old (very). House in the mountains in Valencia Spain. Off grid. I totally agree with you about the trappings of life style. The bills we had big car, big house. All the trappings. Such a relief to get rid of everything. Good luck! Enjoy 🤩💕

Just found you and watched your videos in reverse. First good luck with it all. Having a shower at the local Jim and or swimming pool is van life. Suggestions for heat. Boil the kettle and fill a hot water bottle. As you found cooking the pizza, just boiling the kettle will warm your small space. Maybe just warming your piazza pan for a bit will be enough to warm the van up. Once the gas is off the pan will still give off heat for a bit.

@@bythecurb your welcome. I really beleive that this last two years are a test for some of the strongest people to overcome hardships and adversity.... but there is lessons in all we go through. You seem like a very empathetic kind human.. but I can tell that others have taken this kindness for weakness. As has happened to myself also. My advice would be never to change your empathy and good nature... but when your circumstances change again for the better and they will change... do not forget how people treat you and how they talked about your struggle. That goes for friends and family. For now keep persevering and things will work out brother. God bless you

I'm about the same age as you and been fascinating to watch your videos. I think being anxious about people around about you whilst in your van is a perfectly natural anxiety to have. I would definitely be the same. Two things I've realised as I've got older. One, people aren't anywhere near as interested in you (or me etc) as you think ... which you eluded to in your video anyway (e.g. who cares if they see me coming out the van). Two ... The material and status thing is all b*llocks in my opinion. These things will never bring you happiness in the long term and far better goals out there to work towards. Societal pressures and capitalism push people into thinking you have to have these to be "successful" in life. Anyway, hope things work out for you and will be watching your future videos with interest 🙂

Too many people obsess over materialistic crap mate, human nature i guess but they only give temporary happiness. Living the life you want to lead whilst not giving a shit what anyone thinks gives true happiness :)
Absolutely, I'm so happy to have learnt that lesson. I used to be the most materialistic person around. I'll make a video about it at some point.

My first 'thing' is to background noise. Usually a Netflix film I know really well, playing from download on my kindle. Or radio on. Something to film the space in a friendly way.
I like a bit of background sound, I've also got an old fm radio and can listen to radio 4. It's quite soothing sometimes

Hi. Loving the video. I’ve got a little (very little) campervan & I saw on a TH-cam video some tips for small living. The best one was…”have everything you need to use within one or two moves”. Organisation is key in a small space. I’m sure you already figured that out by now. Good luck with your new way of living 😊

Good video, proper real. I work away a lot and, live in weekdays in Transit Custom (self convert) with nice touches. I do have a lovely home to go back to, but love the van life. I do stop at campsites mainly, as electric hook up a bonus, but sometimes stop in car parks. Keep up good work and good luck 😊

Just a thought and you probably already know but you can buy a waterways key on line which gives you access to all elson stations on canal network. Most have showers and toilets and bins to put your rubbish.

This is my preferred method of holidaying these days - cheap flight, hire a small car at the airport, then just drive away on a road-trip adventure for three or four nights, kipping in the back seat 😂
